Banner credit to Nangijala IntroductionHi, it's Mosspool, with another new fic! This, like all my other fanfics has a supernatural twist to it. None of my fanfics have ever been popular before but I'm hoping this may be my breakthrough! I hope you enjoy Everworld. SynopsisFawn has always been ordinary. She lives a lonely life deep in the forest with no one to keep her company. One day after straying too far from her home, she meets Jayfrost, a mysterious shapeshifting tom who she feels like she has met before. He introduces her to his world- Everworld. Everworld is hidden from ordinary view and has mythical creatures that were thought to be just legends. But now a dark threat that threatens the souls of every creature looms over Everworld, and after finding out a long-buried secret, Fawn knows she must save her new home. CharactersFawn- a light brown tabby she-cat with green eyes, delicate white paws and a white tail-tip.
Jayfrost- a bluish grey tom with frosty blue eyes.
Featherleap- a pure white she-cat with a spot of brown on her back and green eyes.
Duskshade- a black tom with warm amber eyes.
Wren- a brown she-cat who looks almost identical to Fawn.

ReviewsAlthough I'm not always a fan of fantasy, I found the setting of Everworld by Mσѕѕρσσℓ intriguing from the off. Mysterious she-cats, a very sinisterly-named villain, Harry Potter-style spells, a supernatural world that our heroine Fawn is about to discover... And, even better, plenty of suspense and realistic characters who definitely have senses of humour. Brilliant! There are only two problems as far as I'm concerned - I would've liked to see a little more backstory and (I know this is a niggle) at the end of chapter one Fawn sees something that looks 'like a portal' which confused me as I thought Fawn wasn't formerly aware of magic. Nevertheless, this is a very promising start to the fanfic, and I would definitely recommend it to any lovers of fantasy and adventure. Four stars. -~Sapphire~

StoryPrologue
It was bitterly cold. So frigid that the trees seemed frozen, their bare branches reaching hopelessly to the sky as if they were trying to bring down the sun to melt the icy land. The storm covered everything, a swirling, deathly mass of snow.
A she-cat, her brown tabby fur spiked with frost, trod through the heavy snow, slowing down with every step she took. Her warm amber eyes, a bit of warmth in the cold, were narrowed against the wailing wind, and her white tail-tip dragged across the snow's surface, camouflaged by the fluffy flurries. She looked like a hare, about to turn white for the winter.
The cold crept through the she-cat's thick fur. She resisted the urge to curl up in a ball on the and shiver, and kept going. There was no way of getting warm out here until she found some shelter. The sun was hidden, but she knew that it would be dark soon, and she had to reach her destination before nightfall...or else.
Fear pricked at her heart as she thought of the reason why she was out in the swirling snowstorm. It was all because of him. That flea-ridden piece of fox-dung! A red haze of anger covered her vision at the thought of him, but she shook it off. She had to focus on her journey. She was here for a reason after all.
The she-cat continued to plod through the freezing night, her limbs stiff. It was a slow trek, but she was making progress steadily. After a while, a cave loomed up ahead. It was a dark hole in the white blankness, but welcoming nonetheless. The she-cat's eyes brightened, and she picked up the pace, clearly excited for the warmth of the stone walls.
She entered the dark cave, and collapsed to the ground, ignoring the cold, hard stone underneath her. It was better than the snow after all. She raised her head after a moment and glanced around. Relief flared in her amber eyes. The cave was empty.
The she-cat gently closed her eyes. "Lux," she said, her voice barely more than a whisper.
A ball of light flickered to light, its warm glow washing over the she-cat's tabby fur. The cave lit up, providing a dim light, though it did nothing to warm the shivering cat. Her magic could only do so much and she was too exhausted to do a more complicated spell.
She opened her mouth to attempt a different spell, but quickly closed it, deciding against what she was going to do. After a moment of silence she spoke, but only to scold herself. "Oh, Melody," she sighed. "Don't use your magic on this, you have to save your energy!"
Melody settled down on the bare stone floor, and tucked her nose under her paws. She needed to get some sleep for what she was going to do tomorrow. She had to defeat Tenebris. There was absolutely no way to avoid it. Her eyes fluttered shut, the journey through the snow taking its toll on her. The she-cat tossed and turned, writhing as she tried to sleep.
But however hard she tried, sleep would not come to her. This happened often. During the day, she was cheerful, ready to take on anything in her path. But at night was when all her troubles hit her. Guilt, sadness, anger, regret. They took turns haunting her, taunting her with her mistakes. Right now her tormentor was guilt.
It churned and bubbled in her stomach, making her whimper and hide her face. She clenched her teeth and summoned happy memories into her mind. Her sister, her parents, joyful memories from when she was a kit. But every vision she called up, reminding her some way, some how of the reason she was feeling guilty. Some might call her a kit for acting like this, but she made sure no one, not even her family, ever saw her at night.
Most of her nights were sleepless. The overwhelming feeling of guilt weighing heavily in her stomach, made it impossible for her to sleep, and when she did manage to drift off, it was only because her exhaustion won over the guilt. And when she did wake up in the morning, she never felt like she had gotten a good night's sleep.
Nightmares struck her mind like thorn-sharp claws piercing into flesh. She saw over and over again her mate's face, his vivid orange fur patched and scarred, his blue eyes wide with pain. It was all her fault, hers alone. She caused him to look that way, and not even her magic, or the most powerful cat she knew could reverse the past.
A little she-cat, only four moons old danced through her mind day and night. Melody remembered the day she was born just like it was yesterday, how that little kit was the only one out of her littermates to survive. Her mate had called the little brown tabby a little fighter, though she was as gentle as could be.
She had looked nothing like her father, or her mother but exactly like her aunt. That same fur...and those eyes. Melody's heart ached every time she thought of her little daughter. Where is she now? Is she safe? I never should have left her.
The exhaustion won the battle over the guilt and Melody managed to think one more thought before sleep overcame her.
Fawn.
