I've lost 21 pounds total now since I started dieting/exercising and it feels nice. I have been taking progress pictures every 10 lbs (not comfortable enough to share them though), and even though my stomach is still huge, the difference is actually really noticeable in other places. Like I can actually wrap my hand around my wrist again??? And in the before picture, my double chin basically covered my entire neck. In the after picture it's hardly noticeable (kind of just a slight bump). My legs also look thinner and more muscular.
Hopefully I'm not upsetting anyone by "bragging" but I'm just really excited right now. The difference is hard to see just in the mirror because it's such a gradual change, but looking at before and after photos makes me realize how far I've come. I wasn't sure how to word the trigger warning and I don't even know if it's necessary but I'd rather be safe than sorry.
Feel free to share stories about your own weight loss if applicable, or even just goals/motivations.

@singingpaw Thank you! You should be too. I feel like I don't look that much different either, but you might be losing small amounts all over so it's not that noticeable. But even if you actually don't look different now, you will eventually. And maybe try the picture thing if you're comfortable with it/haven't already?

Ahhh good on ya! That's really impressive/tbh don't worry about sounding braggy, it's something of an accomplishment and it's definitely ok to feel proud of yourself for it ^.^ I hope you continue to progress, it sounds like you're feeling a lot better about yourself.
For me it's been a series of small goals across the span of the summer to do the opposite (bulk/muscle up a bit, since I was a stick before). I'm at the point where when I do my workout circuits, I can do the "advanced" or Level 3 version of most of them (considering I could barely do level 1 at the start of the summer), I can lift anywhere from 30-75 pounds on any given weight machine (30 was my absolute max at the beginning), and I'm starting to notice more of an increase in mass in my arms/legs. My pants even fit better now that my legs have a little more shape aside from just chicken legs, lol xD

Ayye good on you! ^ω^ don't be ashamed to be proud of your accomplishments :3 I ended up losing about 30 pounds after having my baby, I was up in the 190-200 zone before having her and after I was about 180. A week or so ago I was 164, my goal is to go to 130. Be proud of your efforts ^ω^

@starflower That's awesome. I honestly don't know much about fitness in general, but it's great that you've improved. And hopefully you'll continue improving and reaching goals. (: Cheyenne Definitely do your own research. I can tell you what I've done, but each person is different so what worked for me may not work for you. I know a couple people that did no exercise at all, but just cut back on how many calories they were consuming (to a safe amount) and they lost 40+ pounds. I tried just dieting (going from 2500+ calories everyday plus tons of sugar and carbs, to 1400 and barely any sugar) and I actually managed to gain weight still. As soon as I started exercising, I lost weight pretty quickly. The only exercise I do is walking on the treadmill and lifting small weights (10lbs) to make sure I'm losing fat and not muscle. I started out walking for only 10 minutes everyday (besides weekends) for about a month. Since I was so overweight, I was losing about 2 pounds a week easily. Now I've slowed down a bit to around 1-1.5lbs a week. 10 minutes wasn't difficult at all even for me being technically obese. And I walk pretty slowly too, I'll do 2.4mph for 2 minutes, then 3mph for 2 minutes, then just keep switching back and forth. And incline at about 5-7. Once I got used to that, I increased to 20 minutes, then 30, then 40. Now I do around 40-50 everyday, and I keep the incline much higher. Same speed though. The biggest thing that has helped me is having something to do while on the treadmill (even when exercise is easy, it's usually still pretty boring). There's a shelf a little above eye level in front of my treadmill, and I set my tablet up and play movies/tv while walking. If you were to walk outside and not on a treadmill this wouldn't be possible, but you could either listen to music, podcasts, or if you have Netflix you should be able to play the movie/show even with the screen locked. So you'd be listening and not watching. Bleak Being unmotivated is awful. But thinking about it is sometimes the hardest part. Once you start, it's not that bad. I have pretty bad stamina too, especially since before I started I would sit on my bed all day and not get up except to eat. I think once exercise becomes part of your routine, you don't even really need motivation. It's just something you know you have to do everyday, and you don't give much thought to it I guess. Definitely start small though, like 5-10 minutes or so. It's easier to stay motivated when the goals are simple. KittyClearsight I agree, I mostly just didn't want to make others feel bad if they're struggling to lose weight. That's actually really good that you lost weight after having a baby. A lot of people will just keep gaining weight afterwards. You can definitely make it down to 130 if you really want to, especially if you think about what you've already accomplished.

o that's great !! i'm rlly happy for you!! it doesn't come off as bragging at all. it's great you're havin a good time w this and noticing your progress along the way and have found a way to motivate yourself w taking pictures along the way good luck continuing !!
i'm actually not trying to lose any weight currently. i run for fun and competed in xc and track in hs. after quitting (i quit my senior yr of hs to come out as trans; i live in north carolina to explain why i felt the need to quit to come out) and i gained like ~5 lbs after quitting. but that makes me like 5'6 1/2" and 145 lbs. so Good. and i have jaw problems so i don't really eat a whole lot anyway especially bc i've had a relapse w it lately so //shrug

Yeah, honestly people were surprised I lost weight so fast, but I think part of it is because my appetite is smaller? Before pregnancy I would gorge myself on junk and still be hungry, but now I eat less but more healthier food, but feel full faster, so I know that is probably a big contributing factor. I've also been walking daily so again, more exercise helps :3
