Nettlepaw’s ears flew up as she recognized the scent “oh. It’s you” she said out loud, stepping up next to Frazzlepaw. After last night, she felt no fear towards the large tom but she definitely knew they were going to be no match against him in a fight if he decided to attack them. Nettlepaw didn’t know enough about Yew to make the assumption that he wouldn’t do such a thing either.
(Ha ha, it’s you, it’s Yew. Ahhhh lol
Oooh, I like the drawings!)

(lol- It is kind of amusing. ^^) Frazzlepaw's eyes widened, as Nettlepaw stepped up next to him. "You... You know him?" he asked her quietly, surprised. She had mentioned that she had left camp once before, but she had never told him about meeting a rogue. (And thanks! Even though they're a bit out of proportion. I hope I got your characters mostly correct.)

(Nice work Light!)
"I was just about to ask you that." Yew said with a short laugh, turning his attention now to Nettlepaw. "What are you two doing so far away from your camp, little kit? You're getting awfully close to the territory of that other clan." He didn't answer the other tom's question, mostly because there wasn't a particularly good answer. He was really just kind of wandering about, since there wasn't really anything for him to do on quiet days like this. The yellow tom slowly sat down a few tail-lengths away from the clan cats, still feeling a bit tired and sore from his battle with Roselight. One of the wounds on his back had reopened and was bleeding slightly, despite the cobwebs that Roselight had applied.

(Thanks. ) Frazzlepaw watched Yew warily, but returned to a seated position. The rogue didn't seem as if he was about to harm them. The older apprentice's watchful gaze gradually became more curious rather than wary. He sat down and glanced at Nettlepaw, deciding to let her explain since the rogue knew her and seemed to be directing the question more to her than to him.

Nettlepaw’s fur stood on end “what are doing so far from your camp...?” She challenged, hoping he wasn’t here to hunt again. Frazzlepaw might not be as forgiving or tolerable, and she didn’t want anyone to get hurt.

"Before I ran into you, nothing. Now, what about you?" He hadn't even worried about hunting today since Roselight had been kind enough to leave him that mouse. She treated him pretty well considering the fact that they had been enemies only a short while earlier. Shaking thoughts of the warrior away, he started to groom himself. "I thought only warriors could leave camp without a patrol, and you two are the only ones here. And so close to someone else's territory." Well, that was an assumption. He couldn't smell any other cats nearby, but he had been wrong about such things before. Yew certainly didn't have much room to talk about being on other cats' territory. That had never stopped him before.

Frazzlepaw was now thoroughly confused and all the more intrigued. This cat had a camp? Did that mean he was a warrior? He watched Yew closely, interested at what his response might be. He certainly didn't smell like a warrior... and he didn't believe in Starclan. After Yew spoke, however, Frazzlepaw decided it was certain that he wasn't a warrior. He looked back at Nettlepaw to see what she would say. This was all very strange, how their little adventure had turned into a conversation between clan cat and rogue. He didn't know what to think yet. First he needed to figure out a bit more at what was going on.

Nettlepaw looked at her paws “he was showing me around the land” she explained. “My mentor hasn’t been around for a little bit and I wanted to leave camp to see the territory and borders.” She looked over at Frazzlepaw, suddenly realizing that she shouldn’t have acted so friendly with Yew. He traveled, he didn’t chat with rogues. What kind of trouble did she just get herself into...?

"Your mentor wouldn't happen to be a warrior named Roselight, would it?" Yew asked with a smirk. That would at least explain why her mentor wasn't around. "If you want to leave your camp behind for things like this, I'd suggest just leaving permanently." He then turned back to Frazzlepaw. "I haven't met you before. Who are you?" The loner stood to his paws and looked the almost-warrior up and down as he spoke, trying to size him up in case the other tom decided to try and chase him.

Frazzlepaw noticed the anxious look Nettlepaw had given him, and assumed that the she-cat must be nervous sharing this secret with another cat. He couldn't help but wonder how many times these two cats had met. He snapped to attention when he heard the name Roselight, and his gaze sharpened as it settled on Yew. What did this cat know about his sister? He knew he hadn't seen her yesterday or today at all. When the tom addressed him and stood, he stood as well. "The name's Frazzlepaw," he replied, puffing out his chest as if to make the presentation of his name dramatic. Then his face took on a more serious expression. "You mentioned Roselight. I haven't seen her for a long time now... You know something, don't you?"

Yew laughed rudely at Frazzlepaw's attempts to make himself look more intimidating. "I'd recommend you don't act tough until you've learned how to back up that attitude, kit. As far as Roselight, you're right." The loner stepped closer towards the apprentice, glaring down at him. "I know she can't fight half as well as she hunts, and I know that she isn't a fan of loners stealing her prey. I know she's hurt as well." While the tom had come to respect Roselight, he wasn't about to let Frazzlepaw know that. Besides, it would be more fun to toy with Frazzlepaw than actually tell him where his sister was. Well, she should've been in camp. The fact that Frazzlepaw hadn't seen her actually raised a few alarms, but that wasn't something he would tell the other tom either.

Frazzlepaw's fur bristled at the mention of his sister. She was a pain in the way she constantly ridiculed him, but he knew she was only trying to help him. He wasn't one to anger easily, but he didn't like this cat mocking his sister as if he knew her. "What did you do?!" he hissed. "Where is she?" When he and his sister had been apprentices together, he had noticed she would always slip into defence or support moves rather than attack. In other words, she was good at fighting with others at her side, but not on her own. Against this tom, who's pelt was adorned with scars and heavy build, she'd wouldn't get too far.

"I took her prey and sent her home, she should've been back to your camp already." Yew was careful to leave out the part where he let the warrior stay in his den. This apprentice seemed to know who she was, and although he wasn't too fond of her affiliation with NightClan he didn't want to hurt her reputation. Being defeated by an outsider and having her prey stolen would be bad enough. He took an aggressive stance and unsheathed his claws. "Don't get any ideas little kit, I won't be nice enough to let two clan cats get away. If it weren't for Nettlepaw here there wouldn't even be a conversation."

Nettlepaw’s eyes widened at the mention of Roselight “y- you didn’t fight her did you?!” She exclaims, jumping up. She remembered Frazzlepaw saying Roselight was his sister, and Nettlepaw hoped the rogue she’d been so friendly with hadn’t hurt one of her clan’s warriors. The fear and anxiety began rising again, oh no. What have I done?!

Worry whirled in his mind as he imagined his sister injured and struggling to get back to camp. Frazzlepaw's hackles rose, and he tensed beside Nettlepaw. Was the rogue planning on fighting them? He hadn't been hoping for a fight. When he first saw the rogue, he had thought he and Nettlepaw were some sort of secret chums, but the tom sounded like he was trying to get a fight, so maybe the rogue wasn't as friendly as he first thought. "I am not looking for a fight here," Frazzlepaw said slowly, his tail swishing from side to side. His eyes wandered down to rest on the larger tom's claws and he inwardly shivered. He braced himself for whatever might come next.

Yew kept his eyes locked on Frazzlepaw, sheathing his claws and relaxing once again. "I did fight with Roselight, though it was pointless. The whole mess could've been avoided had she just given up the prey, but it seems there are some truly stubborn cats in NightClan." He was glad to hear that Frazzlepaw wasn't looking for a fight, since he didn't really want to hurt such young cats. He figured warriors could take care of themselves, but a pair of apprentices might not. "Neither am I. Forgive me, but I thought that's where this was going after that run-in I had with Roselight." In all honesty, he was surprised neither of them had heard about it. Maybe Roselight needed help. The tom growled inwardly at the thought, but decided he would go looking for her later.

Once Yew sheathed his claws, Frazzlepaw let out a deep breath he hadn't realized he had been holding. Though he may not look it, he was the same age as a young warrior. His smaller size made him look like a young apprentice which came to help him blend in when he was held back from being a warrior. He knew how to fight, but despised it because he cosidered it a drag; a waste of time. Despite this, he knew his moves well because when he used to wander to the DayClan border at night as a young apprentice, he always did more than just wander, he practiced. Frazzlepaw smoothed down his fur. "No... Roselight is much more stubborn than me. She always knows what she wants and fights to keep it that way," he replied with a chuckle, which faded off as he remembered he was talking to the cat who attacked his sister. "There are other such cats in the clan as well," he continued more seriously. "Though most of the warriors are stronger in one on one attack than my sister." He really did hope Roselight was alright... He knew he should trust her, but he couldn't help but worry. If he went looking for her, she would know he snuck out again and she wouldn't keep her mouth shut about it. She was simply honest like that.

(Hey Rabbitfrost.)
"Good. Maybe they'll be a bit more of a challenge if I end up in another battle." Yew was a proud fighter, and although he didn't want to doubt his own ability even for a moment, the thought of stronger clan cats actually frightened him a bit. After all, it wasn't common to end up in a one-on-one battle with clan warriors. They traveled in patrols almost every time that they left their camp. Even with his strength, Yew was still smart enough to know that there would be practically nothing he could do against a whole patrol of warriors. "I don't know why either of you two bother hanging around with the rest of those fools. You would learn much more without them holding you back, forcing you to follow their arbitrary rules and take care of cats who can't handle themselves." That sounded a lot like what he had said to Roselight during their encounter. As repetitive as it was though, that was the backbone of his argument for having kept away from clans and bands of rogues his whole life.

I’m so sorry guys! I’m on)
Nettlepaw shook her head “the clans provide stability. If not for them, I’m pretty sure I’d be dead” Nettlepaw defended softly. The first moons of her flashed through her mind and she took a shaky breath but looked back up at Yew. “It’s the only life I’ve ever known.”

(It's all good. ) Frazzlepaw's eyes narrowed thoughtfully. "It's true freedom is nice... but the rules were set for our benefit," as he said this, he shifted his paws as though not entirely believing what he said. When Yew mentioned taking care of those cats who couldn't care for themselves, Frazzlepaw's gaze became dead serious, which was rare for him. After Nettlepaw spoke her part, he dipped his head to her before saying his part. "Oh yeah? You would really leave a sickly cat to die? Have you no heart? Even the weakest of cats have some sort of worth, some strength, and you say you'd just let them die?! Who's going to take care of you when you're old? Who's going to take care of you when you are sick? That is what the clan is about. Taking care of others." His words may have sounded remarkably close to his sisters. His sister had been the one who taught him the importance of the clan. Sure, his mentor taught him much as well, but Roselight had a way of making sure he knew what she was talking about.

Boy do I have some news for you all 😂 the first Medicine Cat gathering was today)
Nettlepaw looked up at Frazzlepaw, warmth spreading through her stomach. He looked serious, and although she’d only known since the beginning of today, Nettlepaw had been able to gather enough info about him that he wasn’t the type to be serious very often. “I- I agree!” She squeaked out, nodding her head.

Spottedmoon ran through the forest, her breath coming out in pants as she leaped over fallen trees and ducked under branches. Her heart was beating wildly as she approached her camp, ducking inside and immediately heading towards the rock where Stormstar would be. She climbed up and rushed into his den, not even bothering to wait for his approval “Stormstar!” She called, out of breath.

Yew was surprised to have gotten such a response from the apprentices. "When I get old and sick no one will take care of me and I will do. That's the way the world works, and no matter how hard your clan tries to fight that won't change. You can't tell me your clan has found a way around illness and old age. I'd rather die before becoming a useless old tom who can't fend for himself." It was obvious that he was never the most compassionate of cats, but the comment about having no heart did get under his skin. "Taking care of others is not the purpose of a clan. Clans protect themselves, that difference is important." Yew didn't address what Frazzlepaw had said about the weakest cats still being of some value, figuring there was no way to change the apprentice's mind on that. That was just a fundamental difference of opinion. He let out a deep sigh after that statement, calming himself down a bit. "I guess all we're proving here is that I'm just as unfit to be a clan cat as you two are to be rogues." The tom had never liked the word 'rogue' when used to describe himself, but it's what Roselight had called him and he figured the term would be familiar to Frazzlepaw and Nettlepaw.

There was no point in arguing with the older cat, and instead Nettlepaw chose to look away from him and pawed the dirt. She couldn’t even believe that there was someone who had such thoughts about Clan life. She forced herself to look back at him and noticed all the scars lining his pelt and his torn ear, and suddenly just felt the need to say something in response. “If you don’t like Clans so much, why live so close to 4 of them? Why are you still in this area? You know there’s going to be a war soon right? Maybe it’s best for your own safety to leave before you get hurt.”

(XD I just read the Medicine Cat meeting page. Looks exciting!)
Frazzlepaw looked away from the both of the cats, focusing on a clump of snow at his paws. This tom was strange, and it would take a painfully long time to tell him what he knew about the clan from a lifetime of experience. Maybe nothing could sway him. It was true that NightClan looked out for each other, but it wasn't always that they looked out for others. It was a possibility to join a clan; there have been a few who had joined the clan in such a way. When Nettlepaw spoke however, he decided not to mention it. It would take too much effort. Yew didn't sound like a tom that would be interested in such a prospect anyways. Besides, they were talking about war, a drab and dislikable topic in his opinion. Instead, he chose to examine the clump of snow before him to every detail. He batted it a little, and a small chunk fell off. Though he was mildly interested in what the strange rogue might say next, so while he pretended not to be interested, he listened.

Yew shot Nettlepaw a confused look. "I may not like the way clans work, but there's nowhere else to go. There are clans or bands of rogues pretty much anywhere with enough prey for cats to survive. Even twolegplaces are full of groups of cats. Besides, all of this arguing aside my life here is rather uneventful." He hadn't heard about the coming war, but seemed to think little of it. There was no need for him to get involved in the clans' squabbles. "As for war, I'm not too worried. If the warriors of your clan and the others are going to be fighting one another, I doubt they'll have the time to come after me." He looked around the territory they were on, though the sun was keeping it warm than NightClan's snowy forest it was still cold. "Leaf-bare seems like the wrong time to start a war." After a pause, he sat back down and faced Nettlepaw. "Honestly, if there's a war coming I'd be more concerned for you two. If you ever need a place to wait the fighting out, you'll find me out here." Yes, fighting for one's clan was a matter of pride, but he didn't like the idea of either of the other two cats dying in what Yew was sure was a meaningless conflict.

“You don’t have to worry about us” Nettlepaw says “Larksong said that NightClan is not getting involved.” She was still unsure about him staying on clan territory though. If he crossed over into another Clan’s land, he could be mistaken for an enemy and get hurt. Or worse, killed. She hadn’t known Yew very long either, but she didn’t want to see an outsider like him being pulled into Clan business. It wasn’t right.
