As the title says. I'm not a movie cryer
Most of the time it doesn't bother me, because like, it's just a movie. I shouldn't feel obligated to cry, right?
But tonight was really awkward because I was at my local theatre and they were screening an old classic film (Stand By Me, for those of you who are nosy like myself), and pretty well EVERYONE THERE except for me was crying at the end, or at the very least sniffling. Multiple characters died (or their deaths were mentioned) and I did not shed a single tear.
And here I am causally sipping my drink. Yet I'll be at work almost in tears because I saw this really adorable picture of a baby in a starfish costume. The heck. I feel kinda awful/slightly concerned about the whole thing but oh well.

me every time at the movies. I can watch the first ten minutes of Up without breaking a sweat. This gets exceedingly awkward when everyone's crying around me but I couldn't care less

@redheartofriverclan
IKR??? Or like I cry when it doesn't make a whole lot of sense? I think the most recent one was I was watching The Crown on Netflix, and basically the premise is this old random man makes the Queen Mother feel like a regular person again because he treats her like one
And I'm like "omg tears" and they just start rolling down my face
My poor mum is like "What's the matter with you"

vakarian I actually think I've cried at more books than movies, it's weird? Also really awkward if anyone else is in my immediate vicinity lol oh nooo i bet :') i've only cried once while reading a book i think? i guess it's bc in shows and movies it's a lot more visual so seeing the character's pain or w/e is easier for me and ugh the attachment is real

vakarian Tru. I would imagine the visuals would add an extra layer of emotion for most people. I'm definitely one of those people who makes a unique voice in their head for each character in a book I'm reading, so maybe that's why I get attached to them so quickly xD Or else sometimes a character really reminds me of someone I know irl and that makes it hard too

when the first hunger games came out, my friend ailbhe had her birthday party at the cinema to go and see it. This was 2012, remember. Me and my friends were 12. So ailbhe was still learning how to properly put on makeup, and she'd put on WAY too much mascara, and when Rue died, they all started bawling. Me and my best friend rimsha lost it tho bc of ailbhe's face, there were rivers of black mascara running down her face, she actually ruined her shirt. It was hilarious, she was such a mess, and she hadn't bought anything to clean herself up with, and the toilet had no tissues, so we went to pizza hut afterwards for food and she looked like the corpse bride.

I'm not a big movie crier, I can count on probably one hand the amount of times I've cried at movies. The third Hunger Games movie, The Green Mile, and The Fault in Our Stars to name a few. I've definitely gotten a lot more emotional in my old age.

I will also admit to crying during Robin Williams movies, and I didnt used to.
I guess the facts around his death and how some of his movie lines can just be so poetic and heartfelt makes it seem like it was some sort of cry for help and I just..
i can't hold it in

I don't cry at books or movies either. I have cried one (1) time over a book.
But if I think more than six months into the future suddenly I have emotions and they are everywhere

Haven't seen Wallflower but Terabithia wasn't that bad for me? It was sad but not cry my eyes out sad.
A.I. got me because I actually found it really relateable and the attempted suicide scene really set me off bad. Also maybe because it was so late at night so I was already emotionally vulnerable lol.
Studio Ghibli's Whisper of the Heart makes me cry too because it really brings me back to thinking about my first love. Except when he left he never came back and I havent seen him since 8th grade.

𝚏𝚛𝚘𝚜𝚝𝚢 ❄ That movie did really have me wishing I could just like, adopt a robot child in the future because the actual kid was a literal d-bag. I hope I never raise a child like that because I WON'T BE ABLE TO DEAL

The flesh fair was horrifying
It's like, all the elements about a circus that scared me as a child amplified to be 1000 times worse
Also we should have another movie night soon, I miss those
