"I'm ready." Tigerpaw assured strongly, moving to imitate the powerful stride his sister had mastered. She was strong and fearless, and so was he. He looked at Thistlefur.
"Think Sunclan will cause any problems?"

Ravenwing's ears felt warm as he looked away, smiling. "It'd be nice, I've always enjoyed playing with the kits anyway."

"I know how to roll, leap on backs, and alot of swipes and kicks!" Tigerpaw bragged. He had been an apprentice for about 2 moons, but there was still much more he had to learn. He looked at Thistlefur.
"My sister says you fight well too! Teach me more!"

"Oh? What's on your list right now?" Ravenwing asked, tilting his head. "What have you already completed?"
Thistlefur's eyes shone at Leopardfang's praise, puffing his chest out slightly. "Hunting is nice, but I've always been a better fighter." He admitted to the younger cat. Dropping into a crouch, he made sure his claws were sheathed. "Let's practice the back leap first.'

Tigerpaw copied his mentor's movements with sheer delight, tail waving lightly as he asked.
"Like this? Oh, I should probably keep my tail still! Sorry!"

Thistlefur's whiskers twitched in amusement. "First you'll want to find a moment where you can get behind me and leap onto my back," he explained, circling Tigerpaw as if they were in a fight.
Ravenwing's green eyes sparkled in interest. "That seems fun! What did you do today that was new?"

Tigerpaw's eyes sharped with focus, refusing to let his mentor out of his sight. Crouching low, he stilled his muscles, before slowly moving to circle as well, keeping a distance and looking for the right time to leap. He snickered.
"I'll find an opening."

Thistlefur raised his eyes at his apprentice's confidence, holding back a smirk. "I hope Leopardfang has taught you well," he joked lightheartedly as he darted forward, lightly pawing Tigerpaw's side. He made sure that as he retreated back his right side was open.

Tigerpaw gasped at the contact, whipping around to get his mentor in his sights again. He gave a growl of readiness, suddenly lunging and leaping forward, aiming for Thistlefur's lower back.

Thistlefur prepared himself as he felt the weight of Tigerpaw on his back, whirling his head around to watch his apprentice. "It's important to never let go," he grunted as his sturdy legs carried the weight of both he and Tigerpaw.

Tigerpaw nodded quickly, clinging to his mentor's back as well as he could without using his claws. He knew it was wrong to use claws in training, even if they'd help with this. He clung on, battering at Thistlefur's back with big paws.

Thistlefur felt his legs beginning to buckle underneath him, a sign that his apprentice was doing well. "This move is better when using claws, but I don't feel like having a trip to the medicine den," he joked. "But this move can also be countered. Like if I dropped to the ground and rolled. What would you do?" Suddenly Thistlefur dropped to the ground, preparing to roll onto his back.

Tigerpaw gave a sound of surprise, before he pushed himself to remember what Leopardfang had shown him. Pushing to the side, he sprang off his mentor quickly, putting strength into his push as he leaped away.

Thistlefur rolled across the grass as he sprung to his paws, looking to where Tigerpaw had landed. Nodding his head in approval, he grinned at the tom. "That was good," he said, shaking out his pelt. "I'm beginning to think your sister didn't leave any training for me," he teased lightly.

"Ah, naw! She totally did. It was crazy hard to find a window to jump at you! She didn't teach me that." Tigerpaw chuckled sheepishly. He then flicked his tail and shook his pelt.
"Er...I also am really bad at tripping. I just can't seem to hit other cats legs fast enough!" He pouted.

Tigerpaw gave a sheepish laugh, crouching low and swiping his paws towards his mentor's. His swipes were rather slow and kept catching on the ground and stones.

Thistlefur lifted his paws up with ease, evaluating Tigerpaw's method. "Try raising your paws a little," he suggested, flicking a stone off of his paw. "When your paw drags on the ground that can slow you down."

Tigerpaw gave a puff of agreement, following his mentor's instructions. While his strikes were now smoother, he was still rather slow in doing them, mostly due to his intense focus on getting each swipe to be just right.

Thistlefur was able to move out of Tigerpaw's way, feeling the breeze as the apprentice's paw just barely missed him. "Don't be precise," he instructed the tom. "As long as you can make direct contact with the cat the swipe is good enough."

She is missing one eye, but her other one is a deep, thoughtful blue. She has a berry pink nose. ll Poppysplash is a no-nonsense she-cat with a sarcastic sense of humor. She often has a surplus of both witty and sharp comments to use on other cats. She is very independent, and she prides herself on being able to be on her own. But secretly, she can feel very lonely. She has a soft spot behind all the back-handed comments, and has a fierce instinct to protect those she loves. She loves kits, and likes to think of having some one day. She is secretly very playful and kind. Poppysplash has a mild temperament, and she doesn't get angry too easily. ll Poppysplash was once a kittypet. After her owners moved and forgot her, she was left to fend for herself out in the rough part of town. She discovered Moonclan, and has been trying to prove herself since then. ll @pinacolada |
