Hopefully you will be alright! One time, there was a tornado in a town close to where I live. I was in school at the time, and we went into emergency tornado procedures. Luckily, the tornado didn't touch my town, though we did some significant rain and thunder.

same.
a tornado touched down near where i work and live right before i left work today (around 4pm cst), and more were spotted to the west of me in another suburban area.
right now i am still in a tornado warning zone, yikes.
EDIT: and tornadoes are extremely rare here (have never experienced one even remotely near me in my 16 years of living here)
and then ofc flooding is a huge concern, and i hope to god they close my workplace tomorrow. "oh harvey's only cat1 now!" ok but TORNADOES and FLOODING yo

Scary! I'm glad you're okay
I've always thought that tornadoes in Houston were super rare, so the fact that one touched down close to where I live is really nerve-wracking

i'm glad you're okay too.
yeah same it's like, i'm used to hurricanes and everything... but i literally don't know what to do during a tornado and the tornado warnings have scared me more than the hurricane itself bc of that
i'm just really thankful that i live close to where i work. my gm lives near the montrose area so he has to commute a bit (job is in the cyfair area) and i just couldn't imagine it.

same!
I went through Ike back in '08 so I wasn't that nervous about Harvey, but these tornadoes are really making me nervous!
I would dread having to go to work during all of this.. Luckily I just teach violin lessons so I can work at home.
I hope he gets home okay! That must be a stressful commute with all the road flooding and such

thankfully we closed when things started getting bad! honestly though, idk why we didn't close in the first place, and i hope i am not expected to come in tomorrow lol. it's good that you're able to cancel any lessons and work from home!
i keep getting "updated" tornado alerts on my phone (eg the warning was until 6:45, now 7:15) and i just want to be relatively in the clear soon.
