My IRL friends are always split down the middle when it comes to this, so
Are you the type of person who really enjoys horror movies? Do you just like to watch them once in awhile? Do you absolutely avoid them at all costs?
I used to be a huge fan of them in high school, but I find as the year's go on I feel my "horror movie fix" is satisfied with like, one or two a year now. Tbh it's probably mostly just because a lot of my current buddies get really freaked out or annoyed by the genre, and I hate watching horror flicks alone, so I'm kinda stuck in my current situation.

I never liked horror movies. Before, it was because I found them, well, too scary for my taste, but now I just don't find them entertaining at all and perhaps even predictable.
Now, if you mean horror that deals with real life scenerios, then I might reconsider. Like in The Sixth Sense and a little girl is poisoned by her mother, or how Split portrays dissociative identity disorder (granted, not always accurately, but you get the point). Because really, the only thing more scary than some horror movie is reality.

𝓣𝓲𝓷𝓾𝓿𝓲𝓮𝓵Ahh yeah, psychological horror! I'm a huge fan of it myself, I saw Gone Girl once with my ex and he was petrified and I was SOLD, haha. I kinda consider it like a sub-genre since it's quite different from classic, bloody/paranormal horror films, but I guess it technically counts? I find a lot of horror "plot" repetitive as well, so I feel that. I think the ones I enjoy are mostly ones I go back to for nostalgia, not necessarily because they're any less predictable

I enjoy the classics, but give give me psychological horror any day. I think my favorite psychological horror film is probably The Sixth Sense, though I could never resist a good Alfred H. film, with my favorite being Rear Window. Speaking of which, there are times where there's a huge flock of pigeons and then I think that I might've stepped into a dimension where I'm living out the plot of The Birds.

never watched one to be honest. but i think i'd probably like them? i mean. i watch movies with the lights on, curtains closed and volume on low with a huge bowl of popcorn while it's daytime. so i probably wouldn't get scared.

I just don't like them bc 99% of the time they're god awful. repetitive/cheap/stupid/not even scary/etc. that's not to say there aren't good horror movies. but they're very few and far in between. I tend to like psychological or stuff that is based off real life horror.
also, I can deal with gore but I can't watch stuff that uses over the top nastiness just for scare factor, or the ones that go down that very, very dark satanistic-path, if you know what I mean?? I guess you could say those are good horror movies though, bc they sure scare the heck out of me enough not to watch them ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

I enjoy them because they freak out the people I watch them with.
I grew up watching horror movies so they honestly don't have an effect on me anymore.
It's much funner to drag a person to a horror movie and hear their reactions instead.

As I've never seen any, I don't really have an opinion on them.
However, I think I wouldn't mind watching them as long as it wasn't during the night.

I like actual scary movies, but a lot of horror movies aren't scary. Especially the newer ones.

Horror movies, especially the ones with obscene amounts of bloodand ridiculous death scenes, always make me laugh....
Is something wrong with me?

I like horror movies, but I can particular about them. I usually am only into ones with Ghosts/Paranormal things, but I do like ones similar to Get Out, When A Stranger Calls, and Hush. Slasher films bore me, and I'm not into super gory movies like Saw or Final Destination. Lol

I love them, as long as they're actually scary enough for me to want to not watch. That's a good sign ye
I barely watch anything tbh though

Not a huge fan. I don't get scared very easily so I don't find the genre particularly interesting.
