» This dream will last forever, This dream will never die, We will rise to meet the challenge every time.
Yeah, this dream keeps us together, This shows that you and I Will be the best that the world's ever seen, 'Cause we always will follow this dream. The Professor's Greeting Hello! My name is Professor Aspen! As you know, this world is inhabited by creatures known as Pokémon. For many, these creatures are simply pets. For others, such as yourself, they are companions on quests of personal growth. Here in the Kadel region, we- What? No, I'm not here to give you a Pokémon. You already have a partner Pokémon, don't you? One that you've shared your entire journey with? Good, I thought so. No, you are here because, like many powerful trainers, you seek a challenge. The Kadel region has always been home to powerful Pokémon, and powerful Pokémon attract powerful trainers. Thus, over the years, our region has become a place where trainers such as yourself come to test their skills and their bond with their Pokémon. Like most other regions, the Kadel region has a Pokémon League, comprised of eight gyms, four Elite trainers, and a Champion. The gyms here are, however, much stronger than those of your home region, making the lofty goal of Champion even harder to obtain. If the Pokémon League isn't your calling, we also have Pokémon Contests, where you and your Pokémon will work together to draw out their inner beauty. Do the best in five Contests, and you and your Pokémon will qualify for the Grand Festival in Alabaster City! Anyway, off you go. Don't let me keep you from getting started with your adventure. I've updated your Pokédex, as well as your Pokégear, so getting in touch with me shouldn't be a problem. Have a good time, and be safe! Hello From Brin Hey there! I'm Brindleflight, but you can call me Brindle or Brin. This is, clearly, my Pokémon roleplay. Before you go any further, I'd like to take a moment to share what this roleplay is all about. If you've watched any season of the anime you'll know that Ash and Pikachu don't just go gallivanting around on their own. They've got friends! Friends with their own hopes and dreams and goals, and that's always been really cool to me. So, this roleplay will focus on the bond between a few trainers as they work towards their individual goals. Notice the word few over there. This is a small roleplay with only four slots for characters, one of which has already been filled by me. This isn't because i don't like you, or I'm trying to be rude. It's just so that the characters that we do have can really get to know each other and grow together. Now, with that said, welcome to the Kadel region!

General Rules Boo, rules. They're no fun. We have to have them though, and we have to have a lot of them, so here they are, right up front, for your viewing pleasure. We do have a code word, and I am extremely petty, so you will need to read them all. »Grammar Semi-advanced is a scary phrase, I know. But fear not, young roleplayer, I'm not asking you to write me a book with some fancy coding. No, I just ask that you write around four quality sentences per post. Give everyone something nice to reply to. »What's In An É? The É in the word Pokémon is a little tricky to type, so if you can't figure it out with a quick Google search, don't worry about it!
»Realism Pokémon isn't a very realistic world, I know. But you've had some experience with it, and you know how it operates. Your character cannot just stumble upon Arceus and have it bow to them. Well, they can, but I'll ban you. Try me. Battles are also governed by a different set of rules to prevent people trying to have their character be majorly overpowered. You'll find them in the next section.
»Politeness This rule applies to you before you've even been accepted. Do not complain if I ask you to fix something on your form. This is a selective roleplay, and I reserve the right to ignore your forms if you're difficult. Do not beg for a spot, a specific Pokémon, a win in a battle, or anything else. Ask for it. One time. Nicely. Don't be a brat if you don't get the answer you want. Once you've been accepted, be polite to your fellow members. Any bullying will result in an immediate ban. If you've gotten this far, the codeword is your favorite pure water type Pokémon.
»Activity Obviously, things happen. You get grounded, swamped in homework, or just don't have any motivation. That's chill. Just let me know what's gong on if at all possible. If, however, you haven't posted in two weeks, your character will be removed. Battles Battles are an important part of the world of Pokémon. Arguably the most important part. To keep them fun for everyone, we have a few simple rules. »The winner of a battle must be determined before it starts. If you cannot reach an agreement peacefully, have one party flip a coin and post a screenshot if need be. You can find a very simple one here, or simply Google coin flip. If you don't trust your fellow member, you'll have to wait for me to get online and pick for you, in which case I'll just pick the person who acted the most mature during your exchange.
»While gym leaders are pre-made characters, they are not open to claim. If your character challenges a gym, we will arrange for someone else to roleplay the gym leader for that particular fight.
»When writing out a fight scene, you CANNOT decide how your actions will affect the other person. See below for an example.
Brindleflight Posted: "Nidoking! Dragon Tail!" Nidoking's tail began to glow a dark purple, and after a moment the large Pokémon turned, whipping the glowing appendage in Pikachu's direction.
Irrelevant Example Posted: Pikachu crouched, ready to spring out of harm's way, but the large Pokémon was faster than anticipated, and its tail struck the small mouse Pokémon in its abdomen.
OR Irrelevant Example Posted: Pikachu leapt nimbly onto Nidoking's tail, using the momentum of the attack to launch itself into the air.
»Having said that, do not go overboard with the dodging. Unless agreed upon beforehand, your Pokémon should be hit more often than not. If you've made it this far, the codeword is your favorite pure grass type.

The Kadel Region »General The Kadel region is a mountainous area, full of high, rocky peaks and forested valleys. Many rare, high leveled Pokémon can be found roaming the land, and the people who make it their home are equally tough and hardy, though they are kind and welcoming to those who treat them with respect.
»Sienna Village The home of Professor Aspen, this small port town full of dark wooden buildings is the start of many trainers' journeys through the region. It houses the Professor's lab, as well as a PokéMart and a Pokémon Center, and every spring the cheerful residents of the town hold the Festival of Lights to welcome the Volbeat and Illumise back from their migration.
»Route 211 Head north from Sienna Village and you'll find yourself on the steep path of Route 211. This path winds up the rocky side of a mountain, and many rock and ground types can be found here, though trainers are normally few and far between.
»Glimmering Cave The Glimmering Cave connects the top of Route 211 to the path just outside Alabaster City. It is full of large, shining jewels, though they are protected, and police search stations are set up at either end of the tunnel to prevent any over-eager travelers trying to take a bit home. The cave is full of rock and dark type Pokémon, with a few scattered fighting types and electric types.
»Alabaster City Situated at the top of a mountain, Alabaster City is home to the annual Grand Festival, as well as the Alabaster City Gym. It is a busy, glittering city, where most buildings are built from pale stone or wood. Many parks are scattered throughout it, and many residents have window gardens, adding color to the city. A lift on the west side of town will take travelers down to Route 212 free of charge.
»Route 212 Route 212 is a welcome change from the cold of Alabaster City and the rocky terrain of Route 211. It is a bright, sunny strip of land that runs along a winding river. Many trainers can be found fishing for elusive Dratini in the waters, and grass and normal types are abundant and relatively friendly, if a bit pushy, after receiving handouts from travelers for many years.
»Sage Town Situated between Route 212 and the Tilleul Forest, this town houses the Pokémon Daycare and the Trainer School. The townsfolk are a very friendly bunch, and volunteers run a stand just outside the forest where they hand out free antidotes to trainers wishing to enter, and warn those who enter the forest to treat it with care, lest they upset its legendary and powerful guardian. A small festival is held every summer where children make dolls to leave at Celebi's shrine, hoping to earn its favor.
»Tilleul Forest A thick, somewhat dark forest leading from Sage Town to Umber City. The citizens of Sage Town have kindly marked a path leading from one end to the other, though many of the best Pokémon are found off the beaten path. Large grass, poison, and bug types can be found here, such as Scolipede or the ever elusive Venusaur. There are also a few flying types who make the forest their home, drawn by the vast amount of bug types, and a shrine deep in the heart of the forest is rumored to be home to the legendary Celebi.
»Umber City A somewhat rugged city whose main income is mining, Umber City is home to the renowned Archeological Museum. For a small fee, visitors can observe the fossils on display, and trainers can enter any fossils they stumble upon into the Ancient Pokémon Revival Program to have them restored into rare ancient Pokémon. The Umber City Gym is also located inside the museum, though challengers do not have to pay to enter.
