i want to lose as much as possible before september 5th (when school starts) i dont drink soda so don't tell me to not drink it lol
and by as much as possible i mean at least 10lbs im really heavy atm and i need to get back to what i was before i gained weight (which was still kinda big) but anyways i need to lose at least ten so please give me advices
i typically eat 2 meals a day and a snack but i also eat fast food a lot (which im cutting to once a week)
exercise is :? tho bc i only enjoy dancing, and everything else seems tedious i can't run bc i have a bad foot that acts up if i run for like even 2 or 3 minutes
i also have weights i lift but they dont do anything for weight loss lol

Ah! Okay, I have a lot of things to say about this!
So first, drink water. Like lots of it. 3 liters every day. You'll easily drop like, five pounds of water weight and you won't be bloated as much. Also, drinking water can make you feel fuller so you'll eat less!
Even if you don't drink soda, avoid liquid calories at all costs. Unless you like drinking milk in the mornings, in which just switch to 1% or something and you're good.
For exercise: go on walks. If you like shopping, then go on shopping trips with your friends or something. Boom, there's 10k steps right there. Or go hiking. Boom, another 10k steps and it's all uphill so it's even more exercise. Make it fun for yourself!
You can't spot reduce, so in this amount of time, losing weight might make your body look weird or disproportional. That's okay, though.
Important note: do not do those eating disorder, insane caloric intake diets. Those might make you lose weight fast, but the consequences are TERRIBLE. You'll binge your way back up, and you might even end up at a higher weight than where you started. It'll give you an unhealthy mindset around weight loss. Just don't do it. Eating disorders are bad.

you're not gonna lose 10 pounds in 14 days. but you can drop that in a mouth without much complexity if you follow a few things:
--drink water. a LOT. force yourself even when you aren't thirsty. aim for like 3 liters a day. its so much better for your metabolism. --it's not just what you eat but how often. it sounds like you probably skip breakfast, which is okay, but you should try and like snack something between class periods prior to lunch if you can. "grazing" is when you eat small amounts often rather than a few big meals. it's more efficient for your metabolism. --if you can't pluck it from a bush, tree, ground, or kill it, don't eat it. it's probably a processed carb and you do Not need it. --find a gateway vegetable that you really like. like cucumbers or carrots or green beans or bell peppers and focus on eating that when you're snacking rather than like, chips, energy bars, etc (snack-y foods) --it's not just soda but really anything besides water (juices, too) --so much easier to avoid eating junk if you prep ahead of time for healthier options. so like instead of going to mcdonalds for some fries after school you'll remember you already have some leftovers from last night you can eat instead (and won't cost you) --stay away from "lose weight fast" gimmicks like the military diet and similar. they don't work, they just dehydrate you and lower your weight via temporary energy displacement. --you gotta exercise. if dance is all that works to you, find a way to motivate yourself to do it every day

first, quit using your broom and get to walking. don't use magic to make the weights lift themselves. and most importantly, quit wearing the cloak of invisibility. It's bad for your cholesterol

thanks ^^ i do believe that it's possible to lose that much in two weeks though ive lost 5lbs in a week before so it seems plausible
water is basically the only beverage that i drink so i guess im set for that walks/hikes are a good idea n ill try to go on walks lmao ill feel embarrassed seeing my friends though idk how to be sustained by vegetables as a snack. id like cucumbers and carrots for like dinner, but for snacks i usually like granola bars and whatnot i dont make my own food, nor do i know how to, so meal prep is hard (i also hate cooking so)
on another note, are there are any specific exercises (like squats, jumping jacks etc.) that work well ? sometimes ill do those sorts of things whilst watching a show or smt

Exercise will help you lose weight faster than just dieting. Also, like everyone else mentioned, drinking lots of water. I've lost 20lbs by just walking at a decent pace (and changing up the speed). Even if I'm losing weight slower by walking than some more difficult exercises, I prefer it because walking is easy and it's easier to stay motivated.
Also if you lost 5lbs in a week, I highly doubt it was 5lbs of fat. Might have been water weight, or muscle loss. If you go on any sort of diet without doing exercise/weight lifting, you will lose muscle before anything else. It's easy to lose 5lbs of muscle quickly, because muscle is heavier than fat.
Most people don't want to exercise, but sometimes it's better to just start it right away rather than put it off by trying to find ways around it. Also, counting macros is sometimes more important than counting calories. Too few calories will also make you lose muscle faster instead of fat. But if you cut back on carbs, sugar, salt (retains fluid), etc. you will lose weight even still eating a decent amount of calories.

Haha, I'm currently trying to lose a few pounds myself. Just started drinking half a gallon of water today.
By the way, drink the water slowly throughout the day. If you drink the water people suggest all at once, it can kill you. I drank my gallon throughout the entire day. Done it before, and I was fine.

easiest thing is counting calories. a calorie tracker like MyFitnessPal (tho it only works if you're 18+, and i personally wouldnt lie on something related to health) will help with that. eat less calories than you usually do and you'll lose the weight.

Be careful with calorie counting. Your body needs a certain number to live, and anyway, obsessively counting your calories can lead to unhealthy behavioral patterns that are super hard to break. Also, don't touch any kind of weird fad diets; at best, most diets simply fail, and at worst, they can permanently eff up your metabolism. Just remember to pace yourself, stay consistent, and keep realistic goals in mind.

I'd recommend weight training, as you already lift weights - if you build muscle mass, the increased muscle mass burns more calories.

Metabolism has nothing to do with counting calories. And counting calories doesn't cause "disordered eating", fad diets and restricting what you normally eat can. Diet is all there is to weight loss. Yeah, exercise makes you feel better and more healthy but what you do in the kitchen is the more important thing. And it doesn't matter how healthy you think you're eating, if you're consuming more calories than you need, you're going to gain weight. If it hasn't worked for you in the past, you aren't special, your metabolism isn't bad, you just suck at counting. MyFitnessPal is a great app for this. You enter your height, weight, goal weight and how much you want to lose and it'll calculate how much you need to consume to gain, lose, or maintain. Here's some tips/other things if you decide to go through with it. - When you make a meal, you have to enter every single ingredient to that meal. - Use a food scale and measuring cups for the most accurate results of how much calories are in it. - Macros don't matter for weight loss. You may get notifications that you're over your daily fat/sugar/proteins limit, just ignore it. - If you make the same meal often, you can save the entire thing instead of adding the every single ingredient every time. - It takes 3500 calories to gain one pound. It takes 16 oz of water to make the scale look like you've gained a pound. - If you don't like just water, try buying those powders you can add in (not things like kool aid) as they are low in calories and liquid calories add up fast. That's all I can think of right now. If you're starting at a higher weight, it is possible to lose that much pretty quickly. This year I've lost 44 pounds so far solely from calorie counting. This past month I've been eating pretty bad (not on purpose) things like ice cream, chips, frozen foods and even Wendy's, but I've lost ten pound this month. How? I counted the calories. I spent a few years trying out all the fad diets like military, juice cleanses, "clean eating" and none of them ever worked. It took me forever to realize what I needed to do was just that simple. I hope you can realize it too because weight loss is a hard thing to deal with. Edit;; Don't listen to people saying "don't go below ___ calories or you'll gain weight/develop a disorder". That's not true. It depends on your height and gender. I'm 5'2 and my calorie limit is 1200. If you're taller, it'll be more. If you're shorter, it'll be less.

there are loads of websites and apps that will calculate how many calories you should intake to lose weight while remaining a healthy amount. you just input your current weight, height, and how much you want to lose
also keep in mind while calorie counting, just because something has less calories doesn't mean it's better for you than the alternative. remember, there's more to food/eating than just energy--also vital nutrients, oils, fats, and vitamins. for instance, a peanut has a lot more calories than a marshmallow, but the peanut in the long run is a better choice than the marshmallow because of what else is offers.
and i promise you can't lose 10lbs of fat in two weeks. maybe if you literally starved yourself, but i expect that would put your body into shock and hibernation to conserve energy and ultimately not lose much weight. (so don't do that). if you're rigorous with watching what you eat you can do maybe three or four pounds within that time frame.
it sounds like your parents still make your meals, yes?

NEVER starve yourself. if you do that and it works, you can either die or recover, but if you choose the 2nd option your body won't trust you'll start eating, and you'll gain more weight in recovery than you started at - and you can't do anything about it.

Not sure if you've ever considered keeping a food journal, but that sometimes helps too/it's a slight alternative if calorie counting isn't your thing
I find it helps to first find a copy of a food guide, or some similar list with healthy, non-processed etc options on it. Then, each day, write down what foods you consumed for your meals, and if you can try to write out your serving size (i.e. 1 cup of strawberry yogurt, or 1 1/2 cups of corn flakes). This way you'll be able to track both if your foods are on the list of "healthy" options, as well as if you're consuming a healthy amount. Pretty much any food is going to be at LEAST ok for you in moderation. And I find writing things down, at least for me, kind of helps me validate myself? I'd be less tempted to binge-eat or eat things like chocolate bars purposely if I knew I'd have to write it down later. I'd feel more reward in writing down the healthy food consumption.
Also, a general thing to remember is the simpler the food, the better. Try to stick to foods with 12 ingredients or less if you can! I know it can be challenging at first, but another tip I've heard is when you're at the grocery store, try and stick around the outside aisles, as the inner ones have most of the junky/processed/artificially sweetened foods. Produce is always a win-win for this kind of shopping.
As for workouts, make sure you stay consistent with whatever you choose. Try and build up gradually, don't push yourself too hard with any one exercise at first. Maybe you can only manage to lift a certain amount of weight, or run for a certain time. That's ok! Try to up your number of reps/increase your weight with each week or two that you commit to your workout routine, as this will prevent strain on your muscles and make sure you're the GOOD kind of sore the next day. Don't forget to warm up and cool down before and after, on that note. Your body will thank you later. And take "rest days". As someone who's been working out seriously now for about 2 years, and causally before that for about 5, I still will stick to a routine of "gym for three days, rest day". If you're a beginner I would say "workout one day, rest day" is a good alternating pattern to follow, until you can figure out your own limits/strengths.
