Cursed Welcome welcome welcome to my page for the second official Curse marathon! This is a little place for me to fangirl over Shadowface's wonderful fantasy epic - aka a place for me to dump sketches, theories, writing drabbles (fan fiction of a fan fiction?) and more. All kinds of fan-created nonsense will appear here over the next few weeks, so keep an eye out!
Why is Dingo writing in purple when the theme is green? Because, my dear readers, in the 'what curse are you?' quiz, I was revealed to be a Seer. What colour is representative of a Seer? Why, purple of course! Besides, green isn't totally absent... have you seen my obnoxiously fluro border?
What's your background image of? It's of a place called Cradle Mountain in Tasmania, Australia, which is basically my head cannon for the Valley where Curse is set. A lake surrounded by mountains? Yes please!

Theories Theory One - Spoilers! (Duh) Proceed only if you're up to date with curse!
So I have this theory about the Guardians. We know that Eaglefrost and Eaglecurse are pretty much the same person - Eaglefrost is Eaglecurse reincarnated. We know that each member of Shadowface's family has had a guardian, and we know that Lionshadow blames Eaglecurse for the death of his daughter.
Hear me out - What if the guardians are cursed in their own way? We know that the Cursed and their guardians are extremely close (Shadowface and Eaglefrost, Jadestar and Eaglecurse, Maskstar and Cloudspots). We also know that as long as the curse remains unbroken, someone continues to appoint guardians.
If Eaglecurse has already been reincarnated once, whose to say it hasn't happened before? How many of the guardians were some variation of Eaglecurse and/or his direct lineage? What if that is Eaglecurse's punishment for failing to protect Lionshadow's daughter?
Because what greater punishment is there than watching the love of your life die, over and over, because you failed to protect them?

Headcannons The Landscape;;
As I mentioned above, I've always pictured the Valley looking similar to Tasmania's Cradle Mountain - complete isolation, snow in winter, beautiful lake surrounded by mountains, with the titular Cradle Mountain taller than the rest.... I mean, look at it;
Tempestkit;;
I know it's cannon that Tempestkit is named after Rushstorm and Galechaser, but I've always thought that Shadowface had her deceased brother, Stormkit in mind as well. She still feels guilty over his death, and naming her only surviving son after him is a way for her to honour his memory.
Moonpaw;;
She patiently awaits Darkmoon in StarClan. In the meantime, she is a source of comfort to all the kits who die too young. She becomes a mother figure, and watches over them all. She had always wanted a litter of her own, and while that plan never came to fruition, she now has a dozen adopted sons and daughters that she cares for in the afterlife. By the time Darkmoon joins her, she will have formed her own surrogate family.
I just really want them to be happy together, ok?

Fun & Games What Your Favourite 'CURSE' Character Says About You
I saw one of these for another fandom the other day, and I thought it would be fun to make one for Curse. It's probably very inaccurate (also Shadow I'm sorry if I butchered your babies) but I found it amusing. hopefully you guys do, too.
Shadowface - You see yourself as a strong independent woman who don't need no man and get annoyed when people say girls can't like action movies. you find it difficult to get along with people, because you think their ideas are ridiculous, but in reality, you're just very stubborn.
Eaglefrost - You are the only sensible one in your group of friends and have resigned yourself to a fate of preventing them from doing stupid things. You're also weirdly into conspiracy theories, particularly ones that have their roots in history. One day, you will know the truth.
Rushstorm - You're a star drama student who has a reputation for being incredibly charming, but your sense of humour is comprised solely of bad puns. You aspire to be on Broadway, like old musicals, and cried at the ending of 'Titanic'.
Blackheart - Your summer holiday plans mostly include binge-watching Netflix while eating ice cream. Despite this, you are the mother-friend of our group and spend your nights collecting your drunk friends from strange places. The only family member you really like is your sister.
Mintfeather - You're into alternate/New Age healing and run an aesthetics blog on Tumblr. People think you're shy, but really, you're just collecting dirt on everyone you know. You privately wish you were born in the sixties.
Ospreyflight - you own a collection of retro t-shirts and make witty signs to take to protests and rallies. You have a reputation for being aggressive because you once punched a Trump supporter in the face.
Darkmoon - you halfheartedly wish it was still the Cold War period so you could become an international spy, but recognise that's probably not a good idea, so you'll settle for becoming a CIA agent instead.
Snow - You're a control freak and hate collaborative work because it's never up to your incredibly high
standards (and you always end up doing all the work because no-one else contributes). You somehow always relate to the psychopathic characters in movies.
Lionshadow - You hold petty grudges against the people who cut in front of you in lines and spend hours planning the perfect revenge, even though you probably won't see them again. Ever.
Jadestar - Considering you can't possibly know which part of your life is the middle, you've decided to have one continuous midlife crisis.
Eaglecurse - You fantasise about quitting your 9-5 office job and moving to a remote island where you raise chickens with your high school sweetheart, because you can't deal with real world politics anymore.
Shadowhunter - You're still bitter that your first serious boyfriend dumped you via ext message and extract revenge by spreading lies on social media. it's not very effective.
Maskstar - You are the friend who has to walk behind when the sidewalk isn't wide enough for three people.
Cloudspots - You spend your evenings along, drinking wine and watching 'Real Housewives'. You wonder when your fictional husband will return from the war.
Wanderer - You broke your parent's heart when you decided to drop out of law school to backpack around the world. Life is good, but you're broke.

I'm so happy with how it turned out, even if the green is a little bright - I wanted it to match the Northern (Southern?) Lights in the sky of the photo.
I can't wait to begin! I have so many ideas for sketches!

I LIKE THIS THEORY VERY MUCH.
Sadly I cannot confirm nor deny. Because spoilers. And spoilers stink.
But I will admit, there are a few details that I haven't yet cemented when it concerns Guardians. I hope to have it all figured out ASAP. Thankfully it doesn't effect Curse going forward, but it needs to be decided on for the series as a whole.

I love that theory. It's not only very, very plausible, but it's so emotional and fits with the themes of the story so well in the repeated punishments from that generation onto the future. I hope this is canon or at least winked at.

I made an entire series of icons, for each of my characters! I was testing out a new brush on Photoshop, and I really liked it. I ended up going for a minimalistic style. I had a LOT of fun. I'll probably post them tonight too.
Otto is my problematic fave, so he's my avatar for now

AND SO PAINFUL
LOL
Rushstorm, Ospreyflight, Jadestar, Eaglecurse, and Wanderer are my favorites!! They are brutal but so so honest. x'D
I love all of them really but those made me crack up the hardest.
