{ Hey, no worries! I have been super inactive myself (obviously lol) and haven’t really been keeping in touch with anyone outside of my close family for the past few months. :/ As for our rp, it may seem ironic given how long it’s been since we were both actively rping but genuinely take your time. Firesky caught sight of her old friend's mottled pelt by the camp entrance where he sat, seemingly upset about something. She frowned, thinking that he'd been like that more and more as of late. A tinge of guilt prickled at her fur as she thought about how much time she had spent with her sister's kits as they grew in the nursery, so often sacrificing the time she would have otherwise spent with him. Maybe she could cheer him up now though, be more present as a friend. She padded over to him. "Hey," she called out, her voice soft as to try and not startle him but loud enough to be heard over the near-deafening rainfall outside. "You okay?" Her sky blue eyes shone with both concern and affection for her old friend as she sat down beside him, her splotched tail curling over her paws.

Reply for ѕρσσкуѕку: Muddywater stiffened mid scratch as a achingly familiar, cinnamon (yes my headcanon is that firesky smells like cinnamon looool) scent reached him. Firesky. A twist of emotion pierced his mind. Tremendous joy and crushing anxiety bounced around in his skull. His oldest friend always made him feel better, but ever since he could remember she had also made him feel as though ants were creeping through his fur. He made an effort not to immediately turn his vibrant eyes on the beautiful orange she-cat, but his effort was not enough. Golden eyes flashing with affection, he snuck a glance beside him, meeting her gaze for one terrifying moment. His eyes widened slightly as he gazed into her sky-blue eyes. Quickly he jerked his head back to gazing at the fixed point behind the waterfall. "Yeah, I'm fine, fine as a pheasant!" He stifled a laugh, jerking his shoulders up and down so that it appeared he was laughing. Can't let her know, don't let her in. "How are you? How are the kits?" He changed the subject, his voice quivering slightly. |

Firesky could tell that Muddywater was trying to cover up some kind of internal struggle. She had known him too long for it to work on her. "Uh huh..." she meowed, furrowing her brow slightly as she tried to discern what was upsetting him. Her ear twitched instinctively toward the apprentices across the cave at the mention of her sister's kits. She could hear Cloverpaw chatting idly with her denmates, Pebblepaw was quiet but she had just seen him grooming before coming over, and Ripplepaw was on the other side of the waterfall talking with Flamepaw. But Bluepaw...she didn't seem to be anywhere in earshot. Could she be out in the storm somewhere? Firesky closed her eyes, clearing her mind. If Bluepaw was out there somewhere, she was smart and capable enough to find safety. She had to trust her niece. Still determined to address Muddywater's mood, Firesky turned her attention back to him. She would humor him for now and answer his nonchalant questions. "They're doing well, learning quickly. And I've been good, same as always." She narrowed her eyes at him. "How about you?"

Bluepaw had never felt her pelt get this hot from embarrassment before. It was doing wonders for the cold that had seeped into her fur from the heavy wind and rain, but she was almost certain she would have preferred that over this. Of course they weren't mates! Not that he wasn't a nice looking tom or anything, but she was so young still! Far too young to already have a mate, right? She knew most cats her age started to have feelings for others around now, but usually the real stuff came later. Or at least that's what she had observed. She herself hadn't yet felt the pangs of young love, but she wasn't particularly pleased or upset about it. That had never been her priority. But she was almost frustratingly curious about why it seemed to affect other cats so much. She wished she could understand. Did Ghostlight understand? She wondered about this for a moment before turning her gaze back to the warrior. "Okay, let's go then," she meowed, more relaxed now that her embarrassment had turned to curiosity, and took a few steps toward their destination. Without trying to seem too interested, she continued. "So, have you ever been in love?" she asked without even looking at the tom, keeping her eyes trained casually on the path ahead.
GHOSTLIGHT:
The dark tom dipped his head in agreement and started again towards the Blossoming tree, the ground under paw squished and squashed due to the heavy rain. Although it was ice cold and stung at Ghostlight's paw pads, now more relaxed and focused on continuing their journey the tom almost didn't hear the apprentice as he was lost in thought. "What?" He asked not in questioning but in confusion, the tom didn't answer right away. Has he ever been in love? those words played in his head over and over again but he couldn't recall a time that he had been. "I'm afraid not, I mean I love my family but I assume that's a different type of love." He finally replied, but never once looking at the apprentice. His gaze wandered about their surrounds as he took in the wet scenery. Bluepaw waited quietly for the tom's answer, glancing sideways toward him to observe as he thought about her question. She nodded after he spoke. " Yes, that's definitely different. I love my family too, but not in the way I see other cats love each other." She thought about the pairs of cats in the clan that exhibited that kind of love. Honeysplash and Darkspeck, Lavendersong and Sharpfang, Fawnleap and Nightwind...had her parents felt the same way for each other? She knew that her brothers seemed to be more affected by their unknown lineage than she or her sister, but it weighed on her too sometimes. Not having the relationship that she saw many of her fellow apprentices have with their fathers was difficult, though it's not as if she and her siblings were the only ones who had lost or never known one of their parents. Still, it was strange to think about her mother and some tom she had never met sharing that same type of love as the other mates in the clan. Did she want that someday? She wasn't sure. " Do you think you'll ever have that kind of love?" she asked quietly, still halfway lost in thought with her gaze unfocused on the ground underfoot. |

Ghostlight nodded in agreement with her words, there was a brief moment of silence that befell on them as he too; also lost in thought. Have those feelings ever emerged before? What is considered love? He did not know as he never really took the time to explore deeper into those feelings or paid any attention to the mates in the clan, What do you search for when one cannot put words to describe it, what is love to him? Before their days at the clan, Ebonyflame and him lived briefly with a sweet couple. Although the memory is faded he vaguely remembers the love they shared, along with that memory comes long forgotten words his adoptive father once told him. "Son, when you get older you'll have certain feelings and questions arise; when exploring those feelings, it is best you don't go searching for them." His father paused and gave his son a loving nuzzle, before continuing. "As they will find you." The memory faded when the beautiful blue and white apprentice's words brought him back, his ear slightly shifted downward and he glanced at her. He didn't even have to ponder on her question as the familiar words he father spoke to him ring in his ear. "Yes, I do believe I'll find love someday." He gave her a warm smile, unbeknownst to him. Due to his clumsy nature and never paying attention to his surroundings he never felt the tendril that wrapped around his paw, causing him to trip face first. The side of his face hit the ground with a thud, and he could hear the thinly laid ice crackle beneath him. Ow! He sat up, tail slashing he lifted a paw to the side of his smokey black face to rub it. He glanced at Bluepaw, laughing nervously as he gave her a pained smile and a shrug of his shoulders.

Bluepaw smiled back at the tom ever so slightly. " I hope you do," she replied softly. She still wasn't sure if it was even something she wanted for herself, but if Ghostlight wanted it then she did genuinely hope he would find it. From what she had seen of the dark-furred warrior, he would be deserving of that happiness. Too focused on her thoughts, she didn't get the chance to warn the tom before his feet were out from under him. She winced at the sound of him hitting the ground, ears flattening back in an instinctive reaction to the idea of how a fall like that would feel. " Are you okay?" she asked. Even though Ghostlight was laughing after he sat up (and was therefore not seriously injured), it had still looked rather painful. She leaned closer, giving him an investigative sniff on instinct.

Ghostlight winced from the pain of smiling, in doing so his face became scrunched up; ears half flattened his gaze returns to Bluepaw, “Yea I’m o-“ He stumbles having not realized just how close the apprentice was to him. As his gaze met hers and he stared for a moment and a bewildering thought popped into his head, Woah, she’s gorgeous… He stared for a moment longer before he brought himself back to reality, When did she get so close? he thought as he took a step back in slight shock. “Uhh, yea yea I’m ok.” He said as he could feel his ears getting hot with embarrassment, he stood up and turned away from her. His tail anxiously swaying from side to side, he pointed in the direction of the Blossoming Tree with a nod of his head. “We should keep going.” His said, his voice calm and not giving of any emotion. But his heart said otherwise, why is my heart racing? this rush of feeling was new to him and he was clueless. It was beating so loud he was afraid she could hear it, the rain still hadn’t let up but he continued anyways.

{ ♡ Bun ♡ lmao Blue is not gonna catch onto this AT ALL loool like she's super perceptive with other cats normally but this is totally her blind spot } Bluepaw tilted her head in slight confusion when the tom suddenly stopped speaking and just stared at her, her brow furrowing. Was there something on her muzzle? Why was he looking at her like that? The warrior took a step back, only adding to her confusion. Hmm...he said he was fine, but she wasn't so sure with him acting so oddly. Maybe his head had hit the ground a little too hard? She decided to continue onward for now, but she would be sure to keep an eye on him. " Are you sure you're okay? You're acting weird," she meowed, following him along the path and watching his movement in case he seemed wobbly or anything. She glanced downward briefly at the sound of water sploshing around her paws. Had it really rained that much? Concern seeped into her mind like the cold droplets through her fur. Maybe they should go back...but then again they were so close to their destination and she had been determined to have an adventure today... No, no. She was sure it was fine. There was nothing to worry about. |
