Each time they met, no matter how often, she was convinced that it wasn’t nearly enough. She pressed into his touch and felt its warmth spread from her muzzle to her tail-tip. A smile spread on her face at his question, reminding her how curious he always was about her life in the clan. “ Everything’s been fine,” she assured him with an amused purr. “ Sorry I don’t have any drama to share,” she teased. But it was true - as far as she knew life was pretty simple for her and her clanmates at the moment. { not for long } |

Should they fight it or run? } Foxflight felt his companion slow without seeing and whipped his head around to regard him. He was about to ask if the tom was okay when he caught the look in Flinttail’s eyes as they scanned the terrain. Instantly, when he saw the eagle, his pelt fluffed and he felt adrenaline pump through his veins. It had been seasons since his last eagle encounter. He didn’t know if he was ready. (Alrighty here's that reply ѕρσσкуѕку ! Our poor precious boys!)
~Flinttail~Flinttail's fur bushed as he stared up at the eagle circling closer to them with every beat of its wings, fear rushed through him as he looked back with wide eyes at Foxflight. He felt suddenly vulnerable on the open mountainside. The two of them may be well trained and strong warriors, but this eagle looked large, and Flinttail didn't know if he and Foxflight would be able to take it on alone. Just then the eagle dove, it's talons outstretched as it came right for them. "We have to run!" he yowled, trying to hide the fear in his voice, he didn't want them to risk getting injured or even killed by trying to fight it. The black tom flicked his eyes back towards the forest ahead of them. "Make for the trees, we'll have cover there!" |

{ *Spottedpelt* See, I said it would be today! I mean yeah it’s 2:30am now but I haven’t slept yet so it’s still technically today?? Maybe? } Foxflight felt his pelt fluff up as the eagle dove for them. He knew Flinttail was right. It wasn’t worth risking either of their lives for what would have been a dangerous battle. Maybe if it were a hawk, something they could have actually killed instead of just survived, he would have pressed his companion to fight. They could bring back a huge catch to feed their clan. But this was not a hawk. And he knew there was no chance of taking it home as fresh-kill. Foxflight nodded in silent agreement and, tearing his eyes away from the eagle, stole a glance at the other tom to make sure he was moving and sped off toward the trees. His paws thundered over the hard ground as his body pushed itself to its limit in a desperate escape from the eagle’s deadly swooping claws. |
