Ashcloud let out a gentle groan as he felt his eyes open, was it still morning? He had went to bed earlier than usual last night as too much had been going on and he knew it would be much easier to just go to sleep and avoid the drama. He regretted that now as he couldn't seem to fall back asleep, he groaned once more as his jaws stretched open into a large yawn. He stood up and slowly exited his nest. The air around him felt heavy and he wondered if anyone was going to look happy. Of course it was up to him to lighten his siblings mood, as the older brother it was his job to watch over them. His eyes travelled over the cats in camp and he stared as he realized his siblings weren't in camp. This came to a surprise at first but moments later he decided that it made sense the two cats wanted to get away from all the heaviness. He let out another yawn and his whole body tensed up with it. He sent a glare towards the waterfall, he hated mornings so much.

Smokestorm began grooming his pelt, not wanting to just stand there, he liked having something to do even when they were just talking. The tom watched her carefully from the corner of his eye. He began grooming his tail, making sure it looked neat before he gave it a small shake. He turned his attention fully back to her. "No, I haven't spotted any." This was true, and he had been carefully treading to not disturb any prey. It was if the whole valley was grieving with the clan at the events that had unfolded. He began to wonder how Cinderspark felt about everything. He imagined he was torn but Smokestorm would have never done that, he was much too loyal to the code. He looked at the she-cat, tilting his head slightly to the side he asked another question "so what are your plans for the day?" It didn't hurt to ask. He needed to be a bit more social anyway, Ashclouds voice echoed in his head 'you need to be more nice to our clanmates' the thought made him so annoyed. Peachflower decided it couldn't hurt to talk for a little and sat down, curling her tail around her paws. She watched as Smokestorm groomed himself and wondered if he was restless or actually felt like his pelt needed cleaning. It seemed a bit backwards, though, to groom ones' fur down and then shake. Did that not mess it up again? All well, who was she to judge? "Maybe we're too early to expect to find anything?" She tilted her head to one side as he informed her that he hadn't run into anything either. It wasn't as if she had found something and been unsuccessful in catching it. No, she had merely not encountered it. She hoped the patrols did better. Plans? Did she have any plans for the rest of the day? She glanced towards where she knew the blossom tree grew. "I was intending to relax a bit under the blossom tree. It may not have it's pretty colors yet, but it's still a nice place to sit. What about you? Would you like to join me?" Only after she'd said it did she realize that it might not be the best thing. They weren't very close after all. Peachflower hadn't even been able to recognize Smokestorm from afar. But it couldn't hurt to invite him to relax with her. How else would one make friends? |

Smokestorm stared at the she-cat for a long moment, his eyes filled with mixed emotions. Did he want to stay and relax with her? He didn't want to head back to camp as he was sure it would just stress him out. He could continue hunting but he hadn't had any luck so far he highly doubted he would have any luck if he continued on. His eyes moved to the blossom tree and his mind finally came to a conclusion. "Sure, I've got nothing going on anyway." He said, brushing past her and walking over to the tree. He laid down next to it, stretching out as the sun stretched over his fur and heated him. Despite the cold chill in the air it was comfortable with the sun out, he was glad for that. He needed to socialize more anyway so he guessed it wouldn't be so bad to sit and chat with Peachflower, she couldn't be any worse than Ashcloud who always thought he was right.

Peachflower shifted a bit uncomfortably. He was taking a bit to reply. Was this how other cats felt when she spaced out thinking of her own? Oh dear... She was about to inform him he didn't have to if he didn't want to when he finally spoke up, informing her that he didn't have anything going on. Was she simply some second option? She was unable to dwell on it, though, as he walked past her and headed towards the tree. Peachflower bounded after him, walking alongside him. She was careful to keep a respectful distance. She stretched out under the blossom tree. The sun hit her pelt and felt good on her backside as her underbelly pressed against the cold earth that had been shaded during the night. She left out a soft sigh and closed her eyes. "This is nice." Her tail swayed gently. "Maybe the prey will come out later in the day and we can try again." But until then, Peachflower was going to try and be social.

Smokestorm kept his eyes in front of him as she stretched out next to him. It felt wonderful to be able to relax. He felt his tense muscles slowly loosen up and he let out a gentle sigh of content. He turned his gaze to her, looking at her from the corner of his eye as she spoke. He gave a small nod, it was almost as if he didn't nod at all. He spoke, his voice was usually quick and sharp and now it was calm and smooth "it is nice, I bet plenty of prey will be scurrying out in no time." he gave a small smile at the idea of feeding the clan "we'll be greeted with all kinds of warmth." As he said this he thought about the tense atmosphere back at camp. He was glad he had some company, it felt weird being with a cat that wasn't Cloudfrost or Ashcloud. The two were always so annoying to him but even he couldn't deny that he would do anything to protect them. He would always protect the clan.

Mama Soup Duskriver chuckled again as he nodded at her suggestion. "Rub it off on me without the need to promise then!" The tom had to laugh at her joke once more as he moved to brush gently past her. The way she twisted his own little playful words was quite witty on her part. Thinking on it now though, Duskriver thought himself to be quite good at hunting, so any luck being generously gifted by the she-cat was probably not needed at all. Probably. "Well, let's get a move on then." He responded before turning away from Wrenwing as his paws carried him towards camp entrance. His blue eyes looking up and down the waterfall as it flowed on by. He was itching with excitement now remembering that Leafbare was at its days end. The waterfall returning from its frozen state was a declaration of that fact! How lovely it was to spend one of its remaining days hunting. In fact, it was the perfect way to give the season its deserved send off. (Sorry for my inactivity the past couple days! I'm finally on lol. Hope you all have been doing well!  I have a couple of questions. Where should I go to create a new character if I can and does anyone know when we will be able to create apprentices?) Wrenwing w/Duskriver in the Forest

Wrenwing smiled at Duskriver's words and padded after him. She was happy that she had someone to hunt with. Increasing her pace, she matched his stride. She hoped that their hunting trip could be a stress-free time. It was nice to have moments where you escaped the drama. However, being carefree was pretty hard for her, so she cherished rare moments like those. They reached the entrance of the cave. She looked up at the waterfall, admiring its beauty. Its sounds soothed her. She looked over to Duskriver and saw that he was doing the same. Maybe he was thinking the same as well. "It sure is nice to have the waterfall back," Wrenwing said as they walked past it, "I missed hearing it." |

[ Sorry for my inactivity. I had two assignments to finish last week, and two midterms coming up this week, so I probably won't be very active til mid-next week. 
Mama Soup Sign up new characters on the sign-up page, where you posted Wrenwing's form. The link is on the front page, for reference (edit: here it is as well!). Also not sure about apprentices, I imagine once at least some of them - maybe 15-20%, are made warriors. We had too many apprentices and not enough (active) warriors to mentor them, which is one reason we closed it.
Btw, thanks for the responses 🎃❅❖.Şp໐໐kฯຟiຖ໓.❖❅🎃 and <-•Ryse•-> ! Lol Cloudpaw has been carrying the clan since the day he was made xD jk jk. I think I'd like to do the ceremony in newleaf, whenever we switch to then. <3 ]

Stormpetal with Heronclaw, Ripplewave, and Stormshadow Stormpetal nodded at Heronclaw's words, totally oblivious to his matchmaking thoughts. "We should be careful checking the borders today, you know, just in case some loners decide to try something funny!" she remarked as she began padding toward the clan entrance, expecting the others in the patrol to follow. At the entrance, however, the tortoiseshell-and-white warrior paused as the roaring of the waterfall came into earshot, turning back to her patrol companions. "Where should we head to first?" Stormpetal asked, almost hesitantly. She didn't want to seem like she didn't know what she was doing, but since she hadn't been a warrior for very long, she figured she ought to defer to the other three with her. Maybe they had a better idea of where to go. Thankfully, since it was leaf-bare, there would be no twolegs at twolegplace around this time of year, so they probably wouldn't have to worry about any mouse-brained kittypets. That was perhaps, at least in her opinion, one of the only good things about leaf-bare. She would much rather be enjoying the warmth and sunshine instead of the cold and snow right about now! Cloudfrost with Vipershade Aurorabreeze, Cherrypetal, and Nightraven Cloudfrost followed after Nightraven and she dipped her head in greeting as they approached the three other cats. She listened carefully as the cats around her conversed and when a place to hunt was brought up she thought carefully about it. The small she-cat shot a glance towards Ashcloud, usually he was the one to make decisions when they went out hunting so she usually never thought about it. When the valley was brought up she seemed to brighten up a bit "the valley would be a good place." She said, trying not to sound too eager. She was already reverting back to her determined and excitable self as the mood around her felt lightened. She was determined to catch more prey than the cats in the patrol. This was a common thought when she went hunting as she loved to challenge herself and prove that just because she is so small doesn't mean that she doesn't have what it takes. She looked at the cats in the patrol, wondering what each of them were thinking. She assumed they all were just wanting to escape the dreadful feeling that surrounded the camp. Cherrypetal - - Cloudfrost, Vipershade, Aurorabreeze, Nightraven
The young molly tilted her head as the others discussed, allowing them to take the lead. She'd never truly been one to take charge, preferring to step back and support others in their endeavors. Cherrypetal smiled softly as she waited, that terrible chill itching up her spine as if it wanted her to fall to the bad vibes of the camp. She refused to let them get to her, though. They could carry on, and she was sure that this was only another obstacle to overcome. How they would go about doing that, she wasn't sure, but she wouldn't give up.
Nightraven with the gang (I'm bringing this back, blame Ryse) As the dark-colored tom deferred to the others in the patrol, ears twitching as each of them spoke, he nodded at their designated choice. "The valley it is!" he agreed chirpily once a silence befell the group, seeing no one had any alternative suggestions. It seemed that there were no objections so, seeing no harm in doing so, Nightraven turned and led the way through the cave's entrance. Soon enough, the roar of the waterfall filled his ears. Briefly, he wondered why the running water never froze during leaf-bare (wait, is this a thing, lol I think it's a thing??), though perhaps that could be attributed to the weather. Sure, the skies had delivered snow recently, but he had a gut feeling that leaf-bare wouldn't last much longer, and he couldn't wait to relish in the much more welcoming and warmer weather of greenleaf. Carefully maneuvering the damp rocks, once the tom could no longer feel the moisture of the cascades, he stopped and turned back to the others to make sure they were on the right track. Cloudfrost with Vipershade Aurorabreeze, Cherrypetal, and Nightraven Ðᴏʟᴄᴇ Novi ღ ιcєƒιяє ღ ʙᴜᴍʙʟᴇʙᴇᴇ » Cloudfrost patiently waited for others to agree, her eyes carefully scanned each cat. She was glad they all were going though it felt odd to her that there were no apprentices. Though it wasn't uncommon for just a patrol of warriors the small she-cat usually tagged along when apprentices were involved. She enjoyed being around the younger apprentices as it made her feel larger, it was a selfish reason but she would never say that was her reason. As Nightraven led the group out of camp her ears flattened against her head, trying to keep out the violent sound of the waterfall. She gave a gentle shiver as she left the camp. It felt as if a whole weight had been lifted from her and she felt as if she could breathe freely again. She lifted her head as she breathed in the scents surrounding her. The familiar smells brought warmth to her heart as she no longer felt the pressure of camp she once again felt the comfort of being in her home. That was the only way to describe their territory, home. She looked at ten cats around her, though she wasn't close to them like she was with her brothers she could easily call them her family. Her body rose up as she no longer felt the need to duck and make herself small. She followed them hanging towards the back. Staying in the back of patrols had become a habit, she was never big on being noticed so staying behind where fewer eyes would see her had become automatic for her. (I hope this was okay Dx ) ღ ιcєƒιяє ღ Aqua's tail twitched upon hearing his answer. His nonchalant tone was quite unexpected, though his words more so. Was that why he wasn't in their camp at the moment? Being helpful and all? Her golden eyes lifted to watch the tom. "Is that so?" An awkward feeling settling in her stomach. She was never the most adept at conversation. And clearly the direction she tried to take them in, wasn't a very good one. The silver-blue she-cat finally decided to rise from her mossy nest and gently shook her pelt free of any debris. "What do you think of the weather today?" She blurted out as she tried to look outside the den instead now. Truthfully, it did make her a bit sad to know the snow was leaving. The monotonous grace left by the white flakes was always comforting.
