I know this is stupid, but I'm sad that I couldn't see the eclipse for myself. I woke up early so excited for it. I went outside to try and watch it, but it was directly overhead blocked by trees and no matter where I went I couldn't pick it up on my eclipse viewer. I was really looking forward to it and I missed it.
And then I accidentally looked at the sun trying to find where it was at and now I'm scared I've ruined my eyes
i'm just really sad. I think I'm going to go take a nap.

the sun isn't any brighter than usual, looking up on accident but looking away quickly wouldn't hurt any more than just doing it normally.
its fine to be upset. i'm really sorry you didn't get to see it my family went to the path of totality and left me at home :c

I'm a little sad too. I barely saw anything besides everything getting a little darker and cooler. at first I was like 'oh well, shrug' but seeing these totality videos it looks so cool and i wish i could've experienced it and i know i probably never will. so yea im a little sad. im sorry you didnt get to see it, too. but your eyes are probably fine if it was just a glance

I feel ya there
I was stuck at work all afternoon, and the best I could do was peek through blinds to see what was going on (I don't have the special glasses or anything) Plus I work for the government, so I can't really just casually ask for an hour off to go check out the goings-on (as much as I would've liked to)

no don't worry, i've looked at the sun for like 20 seconds before when i was a stupid child and my eyes are fine
but it really sucks you didn't get to see it, sorry. i live in the uk and even if i wanted to go see it it isn't the 1 day of the year where it isn't cloudy

if you stare at the sun, thats when damage occurs. i took a quick glance up at the sun and all that happened was i got that lil spot in my vision for a few minutes
