Prologue
As a flash of light hit the earth, as the roll of thunder sounded, as the water swiftly rushed, a child was born. They named this child Riverstorm, after the weather it was outside, and after her aqua coat and stormy-gray mane. Moonlight Blast, the mother, and Silver Sparks, the father, raised this child undercover, for they knew such a strong, talented mare would be wanted in Tirek's army.
When they could no longer hide the child, they entrusted her to a rebel spy, knowing that she would at least be safer there.
The child grew to be a smart young filly with a talent of sneaking out. Spike would have to fly out to find her and bring her back. The filly's cutie mark appeared one day after Spike found her hidden inside a stormcloud. There was a flash on her flank, and a dark cloud with two yellow bolts streaking out appeared. Spike hoped the filly's rebellious attitude would leave as she got older, but boy, was he wrong.
