More specifically, that writer feel when you've written a bit of dialogue on a character reacting to a certain situation, and you have to pause for a moment and re-read it a couple times because am I sure that this doesn't sound too OOC for the person who's speaking? Would they really say these exact words without hesitation in this situation? And I get it, it's a common problem when you're writing something with canon characters of any kind, but I feel like it's worse when you're writing out your own characters and this happens. I mean, you're truly the only one who knows how the character operates then, so you have to look at them extremely critically because it's not like you can just ask someone for their opinion on your most recent wall of text or your character's hidden depths.
And of course, the character I'm trying to write out right now has always been complicated and hard to figure out, so there's that. Added trouble.
