Even when it first came out, I never cared about it. In fact, I was very annoyed with the hype over it. I never understood the difference between Pokemon GO and the games themselves. What makes this app more popular? Just the fact that it can help people go outside? Shouldn't we be doing that already?
Don't get me wrong, it's a cool concept. I thought it was interesting at first. I just never understood the hype for it. Sure, you catch Pokemon, but don't you do that in your actual games already? Don't you already have the option to fulfill the dex, have wifi battles, and do all of these things in the games?
What is the hype about Pokemon GO? It's still popular, and they're still playing it. I'm not against the app, I just.. never understood the popularity for it when you can do all of these things in the games themselves and not just some phone app.

still too lazy to go out and play it.
but i mean, when it was in its prime i knew a bunch of people who'd go out with their buddies and play it, so i like it in the sense that it's good at getting people together.

it's a fun game and I like Pokémon
like it's not as fun as a real Pokémon game, but it's free, so…
edit: I feel like this post was not strong enough to convey how much I like Pokémon Go, so in case that wasn't communicated, the red thing in my avatar is the Team Valor logo
1. it gives me something to do 2. yeah I "should" be going outside but where am I going to go if I have no reason to be outside? what am I supposed to be doing out there? 3. I love Pokémon 4. although the battling system is far undeveloped compared to real Pokémon battles, it's also way more cooperative play--in Sun and Moon your only options are "battle between 2 people" and "all-out battle between 4 people, no team victories" so owning a gym and trying to support gyms of your own team is pretty different 5. every time I go somewhere that means a lot to me but that might be the last time I go there* I catch a male Nidoran and name him after the place
*considering I'm about to go off to college…I have Nidorans from a popsicle place near where I used to go for competitions, an ice cream place in the city where my grandma lived, the auditorium where we had meetings in a sort of camp thing I did, and a campsite where we used to swim every year

I love Pokemon, and I like how they use the first 2 gens only so far. I also like how it makes you walk around and get exercise. Bonus, it's a great distraction form my anxiety when I go places, even gives me motivation to go places too. I can focus on the game instead of being quite as paranoid and afraid. I do think they need to fix a few glitches that happen, but it's overall a great app, in my opinion. And I am addicted.

I don't really understand Pokemon to begin with, but it the app gets people outside...in dangerous situations ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ People get themselves in those dangerous situations, no the game. I know better than to go after a Pikachu in an active construction site or someone else's backyard, no matter how addicted I am to the game.

Niantic is an incompentant company that should be criticized for how poorly they've handled Pokemon GO.
RIP Masuda's facebook after it came out and nobody could get on :/

i got it when it came out last year and my sister and i actually went out to catch pokemon and stuff but after two weeks or so i got lazy (and i was also not good enough to defeat the local gyms) bc it's like a 30 minute walk to the nearest park. i deleted it soon after and haven't even considered downloading it since. i think it was a neat idea but there weren't enough features and it was rly buggy

I played it when it was in its prime and to me it really did get me out and about. I was REALLY into the first gen of pokemon so it was really nostalgic for me to go back and catch pokemon. Once they took the tracking system away though I lost interest. Once I spent 45 MINUTES trying to catch a rare pokemon (Dont remember what) and it kept saying it was close but without the tracking system I had no clue in what direction to go or anything so after trying to find it for so long I got mad and deleted the app lol
