Thunderlake Yeah it's just a genus. There are tons of species, even a couple mildly venomous ones. And there are different care requirements for each species, so it's important to know which species you have. It's really uncommon for a breeder to not know which species they are selling, and slightly worrying. Are you keeping them in separate cages? And did the breeder tell you what to feed them, or have you done your own research?

Awww her colors are gorgeous! <3
I love snakes lol. I want to get a Ball Python at some point, though not any time soon due to lack of money and space.
You have a lot of Reptiles though! How do you keep up with them all? Lmao. I have a hard enough time keeping up with my Beardie, hamsters, and fish xD

✲ριкαƒυєу✲ Thank you! Ball pythons are great snakes. We do have quite a lot, but I can't take all the credit. It's kind of a family effort to take care of them all. Most of the reptiles technically belong to my older brother (as in, he paid for them, but we all take care of them.) He has the monitor, tegu, leopard geckos, chameleon, tarantulas, scorpions, black widow, one of the beardies, and all of the snakes except for one. He also has the two macaws. The lizards are the hardest part, especially the large ones, which is why we don't have many compared to how many snakes we have. Mostly because their cages need to be cleaned more often and they're fed more often. But the tegu is potty trained, so that helps. The snakes, we literally just spot clean then once a month they get everything completely cleaned out (bedding all thrown out, everything washed, then new bedding/dishes/hides added. And the macaws are a lot of work but that's a different story. The only animals I actually have personally, that belong completely to me and I care for 100%, are the two crested geckos, a bearded dragon, the hognose, two jumping spiders, a c***atiel, seven finches, and a nanday conure. And all of these are split up just between two rooms, my brothers room (he has the master bedroom because my parents are too nice), and my room. The rest of the house is ruled by tons of cats and two dogs. You probably weren't expecting an essay, sorry. I just realized how much I wrote.

I'm laughing that it censored the bird species, I fixed it so you can at least see what it is.

✨ Տեმɾ✨ Thank you! We don't powerfeed her, but she's definitely a fast grower. Thunderlake I only ask because some breeders like to give out info on those sorts of things, and sometimes it can be the wrong info. (I know a few hognose breeders that try to tell customers that they only need to be fed once a week, which is wrong for that species). They actually have different morphs of some of the more common species. Genetics are pretty cool, not sure if you're interested in that stuff but it's really neat.

Northstar3213 True, haha. Our other Burmese pythons are really gentle and calm, but she's more feisty. She's never bitten anyone but she's definitely tried. Thunderlake There's a lot of misinformation out there. And the thing is that everyone has a different opinion on every subject, but they all insist that they're the correct one. They should be fed every 3-4 days, so about twice a week. That's awesome, ball pythons have some really cool morphs. Like countless ones, it's so hard to keep track of them all. We have a lot of ball pythons but I'm actually not a huge fan of them. I prefer larger snakes (at least 7+ ft), and also more active snakes. Boas (depending on the species) are a good in-between since they're more active and get a decent size, but not too huge. Although anacondas are technically boas. I think my next snakes will be a blood python and maybe a carpet python or white lipped python.

Thunderlake That's great that you actually have a store like that. We have multiple stores that are just reptile stores but their animals are still in horrible conditions. It's really sad, because then people who buy from them get the wrong information, and it's just an awful cycle. They are gorgeous. We have a red tail boa, but if I were to get another one I'd get a Suriname or Pucallpa one. Ours is just a BCI.

Thunderlake I've never heard of a Petsmart that actually takes care of their animals lol. I don't think I can really pick a favorite because I love them all equally, but if I were to choose based off of morph and species, probably these two retics, just because they're so pretty and I love retics in general: And of course my hognose is my baby, I love her so much. And my favorite ball pythons, since we have more of them than any other species:

Thunderlake Wherever you live sounds great then. We have to get pretty much all of our supplies online because I don't even trust stuff from the store not to be carrying mites or whatever. Most of our reptiles/arachnids are from online too since there aren't any good local breeders really. Minus a few at reptile expos. And thank you (:
