That simple phrase out of this large tom's mouth certainly made this an interesting situation. He never cared much for other cats since they always seemed to betray him. He has learned to live on his own well enough, and as horrid as aspects of it may be there was a sense of adventure that came with it. Hawke didn't need to depend on anyone to live right now, he took care of himself and simply USED other cats to get by like a parasite. On top of this all, all cats are just motivated by self-interest and would toss him to the alligators as soon as they were finished with him. The only thing really keeping him from rejecting the invite outright in his usual style was still the threat of attack from the new tom, and the inevitable ratting out of a 'rogue' on the clan's territory. Perhaps Hawke could finesse his way out of the situation and still come out on top... "If I were to join this clan, where exactly is the... camp." Hawke began slowly, choosing his words carefully. Then again, based on his response, this could lead to a problem. OCC:RP: "Like i would tell you. I won't tell you until you agree to joining the clan, there are kits and Elders there! Why would i bring a possible enemy to my families home and risk their lives? Would you do that if the roles were reversed?" He asked seriously now sitting on the branch his tail twitching. "I could bring my sister to meet you... She would answer your questions and if you didn't want to join she could make a pact with you."

RP:She tried wiggling out but couldn't and tried again when she sighed. "Alright you win. I forfeit." She grunted again trying to wiggle out. It wasn't often she couldn't wriggle away, she was a sleek she cat who was difficult to hold especially when she was covered in mud. Most cats in the clan with lighter pelts would cover their fur with mud from just outside the camp ad clean it of in the spring to the east so they wouldn't swim in the murky water. "Ok then" He stood up and walked backwards so he wasn't on top of her anymore. He lifted a paw and gently licked it while Sandpaw stood up. He laughed at her dusty and muddy fur. "Hope I didn't ruin your looks?" He smiled at her and stuck his tongue out at the she-cat. He started grooming himself to get the dust out of his fur.
Shadowheart followed Ashlight and Firesky into the forest. She saw Ashlight look back at her with a shrug. When Ashlight did that, Shadowheart glared at the other warrior and quietly snarled. OCC:RP: "Nothing a quick dip won't fixed." She smiled shook out her fur dust flying off, "Maybe we should go hunting. I saw Ebonystar over by the nursery we can ask- Oh Hawkfeather!" She called to the groggy warrior. Hawk feather groaned slightly, guarding the camp all night was boring but necessary and now we was going to be pestered by apprentices... But he turned from his walk to the fresh kill pile and sighed, "Yes Sandpaw?"

"Good cause we wouldn't wanna ruin those looks! Hunti..." he was cut off when Hawkfeather came. Wolfpaw was, for once, happy at the thought of going hunting. And with Sandpaw... He shook his head and looked at Hawkfeather. He knew what Sandpaw was going to ask the warrior. He stretched his claws in the anticipation of sinking his claws deep into a mouse or shrew.

OCC:Wolfpaw's mentor is Scorchmark btw..:*Leaf Sama*:.™RP: "Can we go hunting? We'll stay together and we-" Sandpaw was going to continue when Hawkfeather lifted a paw. "How old are you two?" Eaglefeather asked seriously, the large tom could barely keep track of his own age let alone all the apprentices in the clan. "Im almost ten moons..." She said looking down at her paws more impatient then anything. Nodding his eyes turned to the other apprentice, "And you?"

((Sorry for the long reply. I kinda had a lot of time while waiting for my forum account to be approved. A lot. If you want me to paraphrase – Pumpkin is starving, and possibly sick, from two-legs tainting her prey source. She hesitantly goes into clan territory and runs across Hawke and Adder, but doesn’t reveal herself because she also smells the other cats coming.))
Green eyes squinted against the light of the sun reflecting off of the low waters, an exasperated huff escaping their owner. The water reeked of soggy plants and sodden earth. Not the orange she-cat’s favorite smell, but she had to cross into clan territory to find food. The prey of her home had been tainted by the two-legs. Apparently the wild cats that wandered near her home weren’t good enough at controlling the rats for them.
And surely they wouldn’t venture... there. It was too wet and overgrown for their hairless, squishy selves. So the prey was certain to be safe.
The only problem now was the water. A shudder ran down the she-cat’s spine as she stepped forward, the white of her paw instantly disappearing with a squelch as it sunk into the mud. Maybe there was prey nearby, so she wouldn’t have to? Her head lifted as she pulled her paw free from the ground, unconsciously flicking it as her eyes scanned her surroundings and her ears perked up, listening for any sound.
Curses ran through the she-cat’s head. No prey nearby. She’d have to go deeper into clan territory.
A few steps into the water, and she turned back around - she wouldn’t be able to travel far enough into the territory like that. Not with the dirt clinging to her, nor with the plants in the water brushing against her like that. She attempted to leap to solid ground, only for her back paws to catch in the grime and bring her tumbling into the water.
’Just great...’ She thought, slowly wading through the water back towards solid ground. Mud now clung to the she-cat’s pelt, plastering her now-dull orange pelt to her body. But as uncomfortable as it was, at least it would help hide her scent, she reasoned as she paced the edge of the territory, looking for a suitable tree. They were few and far between – by the time the she-cat found one, the mud on her pelt had dried a considerable amount. Though that wouldn’t stop her. The pain in her belly kept her moving, first leaping into the small sapling, then later into the larger cypress trees.
The cat only stopped once she had taken a few bounds through the large trees, taking a moment to compulsively brush some of the grime off her face while she scanned her surroundings. She didn’t spot anything edible, so she was about to keep moving.
Until she smelt it. Two cats upwind from her, one smelling of the clan. The scent caused shivers to go down her spine – the two were possibly fighting, as would usually happen when a loner came onto clan territory. They were upwind, which would allow her to go on her way without detection.
But the rogue could die.
Many did, wandering into clans territories. Even if the clan cats didn’t kill them (which often they wouldn’t, simply leaving the cats with a stern beating and a warning), most had little to no knowledge of herbs, and would die from infection shortly thereafter.
Deciding she couldn’t leave if that were the case, the she-cat began the slowly move towards the scents, taking care not to draw attention to herself. The two toms had just come into her view when the winds changed, causing the she-cat to freeze and press herself against the branch she was on.
More cats were coming.
------
Shadowpaw let out a yawn and stretched, his surroundings instantly brightening his mood. He kneaded the moss beneath him for a moment as his tail flicked slowly in contentment. He had finally become an apprentice.
Ever since he had been dumped in the territory two moons ago, he felt as though he did not belong with the clan. Most of them acted annoyed with him when he spoke to them (mostly because of his constant questions), and there were no kits his age to play with – except maybe Owlpaw, when he had first been brought to the nursery. Though she had been made an apprentice within a few days, leaving the young kit few cats close to him.
So the young tom had been eager to become an apprentice. Then he could show the others that he was going to be a great – no, the best! – warrior. He had spent most of his days then staring out of the nursery’s entrance at the apprentices’ den with such intensity that anyone who had seen him might have feared the den bursting into flames.
But now he was waking in that den with other apprentices.
Lifting himself to his feet, the large apprentice shook off his fur and stretched one more time. His yellow eyes shone brightly as he looked around, wondering where the other black-coated apprentice, Rufflepaw, was. He wanted to ask the other apprentice for help with hunting, since Shadow had not yet been assigned a mentor.
And Starclan knows he can’t even pounce a dead mouse! As does the rest of Briarclan, for that matter, from his days practicing ‘hunting’ as a kit.

Doeflower let out one last cry of pain as the final kit, a tiny white and black tom, was born.

OCC: Wow I was not expecting such a long first post from a newb lol Welcome to the forums thank you for making this your first clan. I have Brichpaw open in the camp but I'm waiting on the other cat to respond with Adder. So i can't have him find you but maybe the patrol will And by the way the water is known to have alligators and venomous snakes along with large catfish.RP:

((Lol, I'm anything but a newb when it comes to RPing. Though to be honest, my posts will probable be shorter once I've got less time on my hands x3
Thank you for the welcome into the clan! I read about the alligators and everything on the first post. The reason I didn't mention them in my post is because (unlike the other rogues) my cat hasn't traveled into Briarclan's territory before. She's kinda clueless, and when she first crossed the border, she was more focused on food than dangers ^^'
As for Shadow, I was thinking of RPing with laputani, since they haven't been able to yet. Though I guess they could jump in with Shadow and Brichpaw if thy feel like it.))

Doeflower relaxed as the pain slowly ebbed away. She purred as she looked down at her three kits.
Lilybreeze licked her sister's head, purring. "Doeflower, they're beautiful," she meowed happily.

Rufflepaw was in the middle of grooming his short downy fur but paused when he noticed Shadowpaw. Rufflepaw was also not a clan-born cat, previously living as a kittypet, so he felt a sense of understanding towards the other apprentice. “Hi Shadowpaw!” the small tom said cheerfully, “how do you like being an apprentice? I promise you’ll get used to the cramped den eventually” he purred with a flick of his ear.
(Here! Ahh sorry for being gone! I've been reading Crookedstar's Promise all day and I've ended up having to put my kindle down and take a break from it because no one told me it would be this SAD)

(Up until a few months ago I hadn't read a Warriors book since Night Whispers so I have a lot of catching up to do! I've loved Tallstar's Revenge, mostly because he was always my favourite leader, but I'm also really loving Crookedstar's Promise! I'm torn between reading another super edition after Crookedstar's Promise or going back to the main series hmmm)

((I haven't gotten the chance to read any of the super edition books myself, but I really want to read Yellowfang's Secret and Crookedstar's Promise. Wanna know more about those cats sooo bad >w< And I recently re-read the first arc myself - I caught a lot of things that I couldn't remember from the first time.))
The black-pelted apprentice's ears perked up as he heard his name, looking in the direction he heard it from. His eyes shone brightly as he realized who it was who spoke to him - Rufflepaw! Just the cat he had been looking for.
"Hey Rufflepaw!" Shadowpaw purred in greeting as he quickly bounded over to the older apprentice. His tail was twitching impatiently and he was kneading his paws in excitement. He wanted to ask Rufflepaw to help him with his hunting as soon as possible, but... he was also just happy having another cat to speak to. So he tried his best to calm himself, sitting down near the other tom.
"Being an apprentice is great!" His eyes shone brightly and the tip of his tail continued twitching with excitement. "And the den..." Well, Shadowpaw loved the den. Being with the others was what he had always wanted after all. Being close to them was even better!
But now that Rufflepaw pointed it out, there were a lot of apprentices, and limited space underneath the oak tree.
He flicked his ear in amusement at the though of tripping over the others in the middle of the night in an attempt to escape the camp to make dirt. "Well, like you said, I'll get used to it. To be honest, I'm more worried about getting a mentor. I'm not that great at hunting, and I need a lot of practice." Shadowpaw's ears flicked back and he looked slightly embarrassed, before lifting his head and looking towards the other apprentice hopefully. "Do you think you could help me?"
((I can see them having a rivalry with Birchpaw, since he's against non-clanborn cats coming into the clan >w<))

(The concept for Dawn of the Clans sounds so good! I’m tempted to download all of them on my kindle in one hit while they’re so cheap! and Kataron I really recommend them!! The super editions contain so much character development often because they cover the majority of a characters life and it makes them impossible to put down! Except for the sad parts pfft I still can’t bring myself to pick up Crookedstar’s Promise e__e)
Rufflepaw purred at the thought of going outside of the camp. “Sure! I really want to be able to catch a frog for Redmoon!” the small apprentice licked his lips and stretched. “Maybe we’ll find a catfish or a baby alligator! the clan would be so impressed if we brought back a catch like that!” his voice almost cracked with excitement. The young tom loved hunting far more than battle training and was eager to teach his denmate some of the tricks he had learnt.
(Ahh I think Shadowpaw and Rufflepaw are gonna end up having cute friendship because of it!)
