and it's just the prettiest thing you've ever heard so you look up a translation of the lyrics
...and the people are literally singing about seaweed

Are you speaking about Dúlamán from Celtic woman? 'Cause it's a nice sond and the lyrics is all about seaweed.

Seaweed... WAIT. Are you talking about the song Dúlamán by any chance?? Cause if so my choir just did that! I got to sing a solo - really fast in Gaelic! Once I got the words written out phonetically it was pretty good!
I listen to/sing foreign language songs all the time

Barkfangand xєяσ єємαι zσηтαησѕ ♬Yep I was talking about Dúlamán specifically from Celtic Woman when they did the concert and sang An Chailín Álainn before hand I kind of understood what An Chailín Álainn was about since I've been learning a little Irish Gaelic but then I heard Dúlamán and fell in love(as I tend to with Gaelic and Gaeilge music) so I went to look up the lyrics and saw that it kept saying Seaweed? I was kind of in denial and didn't accept it until literally every comment section on youtube about the sound mentioned Seaweed.

basically 80% of the music I listen to is not in English so I come across this fairly often. tbh a lot of the time I just don't look up the lyrics bc even if it's not weird, it just doesn't really flow very well when translated and it's nicer to just listen to the original and just getting the general gist

Me. Every. Day.
One song that I like in Italian (by rino gaetano, dUH, of course) is about how dogs are better than humans

Teach me your waysI love listening to music, learning languages and singing from time to time(not that great) but I'm homeschooled and probably not good enough to be in a choir but I want to be able to sing in a few other languages(which is why I am learning Irish Gaelic).

Yep, it's really fun! Sometimes it's tricky to learn all the weird pronunciations but I love being exposed to music from all over the world.
Here's a few (Serbian, Czech, and Swahili but as I said I know many others)
