Finla started to flush in embarrassment and quickly shook her head. "No! Nothing. Nothing at all." Lowen's eyes narrowed. He knew when his sister was up to something. He circled the couch Ollie was on and stopped in front of Finla. He couldn't see anything amiss, but her face said otherwise. "Come on. What did you do..?" he asked leaning closer to her face as if he could get the answer by looking closely into her eyes.
Finla put a hand in his face and pushed him away. "I told you! It's nothing! Just leave me alone!"--- Rosie lurks somewhere inside.---
Farlow dipped his head. "We should organize a search for her parents. If they are still out there, she'll need the family support." He lifted his head and looked into the distance down the street. "Mensonge, is that his name? Shall I track him down?"(I haven't even decided if Rosie's parents are alive or not. Whenever I tried to role-play them, I messed up, so I blamed it all on Ringo and went with it.) --- Pip suddenly stopped giggling, and glared at Masaki. She stuck out her tongue, but didn't argue further.(It's interesting. When my nieces age 5+ are like little rebellious teenagers, but they also have a adoring, playful side. They will often try to hide their adoring side by acting "cool".) Alex scanned the turret and analyzed the parts. His interface highlighted a box on the turret's right side and identified it as the ammo box. This gave him an idea. "Masaki, try aiming for that box on the turret. Overheating it should cause the ammunition to detonate and destroy the turret. I'll get the next one." He turned his head to make sure Pip was a safe distance away from the line of fire. Ash's eyes narrowed slightly as he watched how defensive Finla was getting. Something must have happened while he was fighting and he needed to find out what. Plus with the adrenaline that had been coursing through Ash's body now almost gone, Ash was getting tired. "Finlaaaa" Ash said in an exasperated tone "I'm not up to playing any games with you so what happened?" He asked making sure to put extra emphasis on the final two words Lydia gave a slow nod as she seemed to be lost in thought "I could reach out to some contacts of mine and see if there are any missing kids that match her description. There's gotta be someone looking for her after all" she said. "He introduced himself as Mensonge but obviously that isn't his real name. Don't worry too much about tracking him down right now. I doubt he has much information on her since he's just an underling of that gang after all" Masaki let out a sigh as he listened to the way Pip was talking. She definitely overused her powers and was acting even more like a child than she already was. He looked back at Alex "Alright, got it" he said as he conjured a flame in his palm about the size of a baseball. The ball of flames started moving around as Masaki wished before heading towards the turret. Masaki leaned his head slightly to the side so he could get a decent look at where the ammo box was located. He was glad that his flames were hotter than gunpowder's ignition point because as soon as the flames hit the ammo box, a loud bang could be heard as the ammo box exploded and took the turret with it. Masaki let out a long whistle "Jesus, what kind of rounds were in that? 7.62s?" |

Alex waited for the shrapnel from the explosion to settle before turning the corner and firing his beam at the remaining turret. With a swift pull of his arm he ripped the turret from its mount and slammed it into the floor. "It sure seems like that," he responded to Masaki. "They really wanted this facility well protected by the looks of it." Ensuring that the hallway was now safe, he turned to Pip. "You okay so far?"

The first time Alex glanced back, Pip smiled and waved. She hopped after them as they turned the corner, giggling in excitement as Alex and Masaki obliterated the turrets with loud booms and crashes. Her laughter faded. It made her somewhat jealous that they were getting all the fun. She started to scan the walls, looking for a door the wasn't completely closed. She couldn't quite remember where it was. All the halls looked the same to her. "You okay so far?" Pip started a little at the voice directed towards her. She looked at Alex, her grin returning as she gave him a thumbs up.

Finla looked down at her feet. "It's just... It's just..." She glanced at unconscious Ollie and quickly looked away with another embarrassed flush. "His hair is so fluffy!"

Farlow dipped his head in agreement at Lydia's suggestion. When she answered his question about Mensonge, he scratched his chin. "Perhaps." Farlow then looked in the direction of the base. "It would be best to look after our own right now, anyways." His yellow gaze returned to Lydia's and he pulled his hood back revealing his ferret/human face. "I don't think we've officially met. I'm Farlow."

Ash sat there with a stunned look on his face as he tried to comprehend what the little ferret had just told him. "So you didn't want to tell us that you were playing with his hair?" He asked in a confused tone as if he still didn't fully understand. A smile suddenly broke on his face and he started to chuckle at the stupidity of it
Lydia gave a nod to Farlow's statement "Agreed. Let's hope that Ollie doesn't need to be hospitalized or anything. He took some heavy damage in that fight" she said. When Farlow pulled down his hood, Lydia didn't flinch at all. She had already seen a werewolf not long ago as well as some children with ferret-like features so a ferret-man was a huge surprise. She stuck her hand out and shook Farlow's. "Name's Lydia. Good to have another person on our side" she said
Masaki sighed "Well let's try to keep them from getting a shot off then. We don't want those bullets to pierce our cover and injure one of us" he said. He looked back at Pip "Probably should have told you to cover your ears as soon as I was about to blow it up. Sorry about that"

What the hell did Ollie do to get this guy to call him that? "I'm guessing you're not too used to being around humans right? Or are you like the big bad wolf in there and you're originally a human?" She asked Masaki couldn't help but let out a chuckle at her child-like behavior. To him, it suited her more than the more serious and almost thuggish way she acted at most other times. He reached an arm out and ruffled her hair "I'll make more things go boom if you like it so much" he said |

(I just wanted to apologize for how unorganized I was when I led us into that last fight. XD Ollie did a poor job at explaining things and Alpha went Ape crazy. Now it leaves a little confusion as to how well Lydia would know Ash, Farlow, Lowen and Finla and vise-versa. But it seems they got the gist of what was going on on their own. Thank you for hanging in there through all that. XD)
Finla cast a doubtful look at Ollie, and her eyes widened at what she saw. "Looowen!" she exclaimed.
Lowen was standing beside the couch. While Finla and Ash had been talking, he had risked patting Ollie's afro as well. He quickly jerked his hand back and chuckled awkwardly, taking a step away from the couch. "I guess even you get tired after fighting, Ash," Lowen mused, changing the subject.

With a small smile, Farlow shook his head. "No, I am fully ferret. The reason I can communicate and take on human form is from an... an ancestral responsibility passed on through the generations," he explained, his gaze saddening at the last statement. His smile was gone, replaced by a serious expression. He turned and glanced up at the dark sky. To his disappointment, he couldn't see the stars from here.

"Yay!" Pip cheered. Though after a few seconds, her excitement once again faded into more of a pouty attitude. "I wish I could make some tuwwets go boom..."

(I came up with another character idea. Though he's another OP character. XD He's a self-conceited jerk after fame, glory, and money. He's made arrangements with the higher-ups that allows him save people for money. The story goes, he was born with supernatural abilities and he selflessly decided to use them to protect the rest of humanity. A popular hero nonetheless.
Anyways, the deeply buried and hidden truth is that he was just a smalltime thug before it all happened. He wasn't getting much money, so when he came across a job offering a lot of money to test a new drug, he was the first in line. That's how he got his ability, and he's the only known one to have received it. Nothing more is known about the drug testing place. It was under the wraps to begin with, and then it seemed to simply... disappear. The affects of the original drug were permanent, but now he's forced to take a different drug in order to keep himself healthy. He keeps all this a secret, because he wants to be the man with no weaknesses.
He's based off of an old character I had. His ability is gravity related. And technically, if the gravity is strong enough, it can even bend light (based off of research on black holes). Typical moves: Black hole, Weight of punishment, Chaos rising, Begone, Meet my fist, Supernova. All named by the man himself. :3 He has limitations, but his ability is pretty strong...)

Ash chuckled as he saw Lowen about to feel Ollie's hair. He couldn't blame Lowen for wanting to feel it now that his sister had so he didn't say anything about that. At Lowen's comment, Ash raised an eyebrow "Did you think I would never get tired? Anyone would be tired after a fight like the one I was just in" he said
Lydia nodded, it looked like Farlow was another interesting comrade though she was surprised that an actual animal was talking to her. A small frown formed on Lydia's face as she noticed the change in Farlow's demeanor. It seemed like whatever was going on with this ancestral responsibility was a sore subject for the ferret man.
Masaki smiled "Maybe I'll help you blow up one then?" He asked thinking of a way to do so. With how child-like she was acting, he may be able to trick her into thinking she threw some fire at it. He did worry that she would try and actually touch the fire though
(ooooooo that sounds interesting. I'd definitely like to meet him. Maybe him and Lydia could know each other and Lydia hates him because she knows the truth though she can't say anything because of a gag order)

My time in this form is at it's limit," Farlow told Lydia, looking away from the sky. He turned and strode to the door and pulled it open. He held it open for Lydia.--- "Yeah!?" Pip squeaked in excitement. Her honey-amber eyes were bright and hopeful as she looked at Masaki, awaiting whatever cool thing he had planned.(Short responses today, sorry.) --- (That would be awesome. XD Would he know she knows? They might have tried to get Lydia to pair up with him and keep him under some semblance of control, but it didn't work out or something like that. I dunno. ^^) ( Here he is. He runs around calling himself Supernova. His hidden real name is Dan Rogers. NOT Zander. I changed my mind, but didn't have the energy to take another picture yet. Alex watched Pip and Masaki in amusement. He wondered if he had similar experiences with family before his memory was wiped. "Come on then, we should be almost at the exit." He led the way down the winding hallways, heading back through the upgrade room- which was thankfully lacking turrets- and returning to the lobby area. Four last turrets were blocking the way to the elevator; two on the ceiling, two on the walls. This might be a bit trickier, he thought to himself.
(My favorite game? Mine's Code Vein, or at least it has been ever since it came out last year. I absolutely love the game to death lol)

(right now Destiny has to be one of my favorite games. It helps that theres a ton of lore in it. One of my favorite characters is a wholesome Russian robot named Saint-14 who has a bunch of purple ribbons on him. Each one was given to him by someone he has saved and it all started with a little girl just placing it on his armor and then he became a legend which then spread so much that people seeking the City kept purple clothing on them in case they were saved by the great Saint-14 to offer as thanks and they eventually wreathed his entire ship with it. He's also known for chasing down one dude after defeating an army just to headbutt him to death lmao. Or Cayde-6 who is just hilarious to listen to whenever you hear him though it sucks that he was killed)
Masaki closed his eyes and hung his head back against the couch "Not right now. Lemme rest for a bit and then you guys can use them, alright?" he said. He wondered if Ollie had some type of regeneration power because with how beat up he was, there was no way he would be okay after an hour unlike Ash.
Lydia nodded "Alrighty then" she said as she walked inside, giving Farlow a quick thanks as she entered the base. She rubbed the back of her head "So you probably have a better grasp than I do on Ollie's powers so how long will it take for him to recover?" She asked
Masaki nodded, the smile still on his face. "As long as it's safe for you then you can make something explode" he said before turning to Alex "Ight" he said as he followed. When they got close to the elevator, Masaki noticed the turrets and quietly cursed to try and hide it from Pip. "What's the plan then? I take the ones on the left and you take the ones on the right?" He asked

"Aww, okay..." Finla reluctantly agreed. She looked around the room, then glanced over at Lowen. Lowen was climbing up onto the couch beside Ash. Finla grinned and bolted between the two, smashing into the couch ahead of Lowen. She poofed into ferret form and curled up close to Ash. Lowen fumbled when Finla raced past him. He watched as she curled up with Ash, and his surprise gave way to a smile. He hopped onto the couch and shifted down into ferret form as well. He curled up next to Finla. This big, stinky den may be strange and unfamiliar, but at least big brother Ash would be there with them.

"To be completely honest, I'm not sure. He was beat up pretty bad. Last I knew him, he was much like any ordinary human. But ever since he came back, he's been... different." Farlow mused with a frown. He entered the building and closed the door behind him.

Safe? Ha! "I no baby. Bwing it awn!" Pip wasn't able to find the special room, and she didn't want to get separated from the others at this point. Oh well... At least she might get the chance to blow something up. Masaki promised. Just as she was starting to think that maybe she wouldn't be able to get the opportunity, they reached the lobby. Destiny is a lot of fun especially if you have friends to play with and the lore and characters are great)

Ash smiled as he felt the two ferrets curl up beside him. his eyes grew heavy and they closed. It was nice having these two around after all. It was almost like it was before he became the way he was now. He remembered sleeping with his little brother beside him or how they shared the bed with their parents when they were younger. Ash missed those days but if things continued the way they currently were, he'd be happy with just that.
Lydia tilted her head to the side "So he got his powers recently then. That surprises me since he seems so used to them already" she said. She wondered if Ollie was something like a prodigy. If he was, she could try training him especially in close combat so he could be a bigger asset to the team.
(sorry if Ollie already knows how to fight. Lydia doesn't have the greatest impression of Ollie so far lmao)

(No worries. XD Ollie has some training, but he's usually extremely clumsy and completely sucks at hand to hand combat. His memory/forgotten touch and metal arm are his only saving graces in that area.)
"Hm? No. Not exactly. From what he's told me, I believe he's had them all his life. It used to be a wild, uncontrollable power. Because of it, he grew up alone and forgotten. It was just a year or so ago that a girl stumbled upon him and made an effort to remember. Her name was Holly. She was the one who brought him into a hero group. He fought along side them for a while, but then he met someone with the same abilities as himself... You see, the young master's powers are unnatural here. Too much of it and it could be catastrophic to this world. Ollie fought him, and turning the forgotten power inwards, he banished them both to the forgotten realm." Farlow frowned and averted his gaze. He hadn't been able to do much of anything in that fight. "By the time he returned, I had a family to look after. I heard that he had lost his memory, and the old hero group took him in. For once in his life, people could remember him. It was somewhere in that time that he lost his arm to that beast, Cyto. Ollie was in recovery at the hospital for a long time after that. I don't know exactly what or when it happened, but at some point after his recovery, he changed. Before fighting Cyto for a final time, he regained his memories and learned how to control his ability. There was a new scent to it." Farlow continued to frown as he walked forwards.
(I'd be up for it, lol. Dan would probably have a nickname for her (as he has for everyone). Something like Lyds, Aggs (Eggs), Maggie, Firefly.)

sorry for taking so long the new destiny expansion has been way too much fun. Its even better that I found a group to play with and do stuff with too)
Ash felt himself finally drift off to sleep alongside the kids with a small smile on his face.

Lydia listened to Farlow tell her about Ollie's past. She pitied the poor man when she heard about how he had grew up. She couldn't imagine the unbearable loneliness of being lost and forgotten like he was. She also wondered what this old hero group was like and what happened to it. Did something happen because of this Cyto? That was another name she was unfamiliar with but it seemed like he had been a pretty evil dude. Maybe he had something to do with the big fight that happened the other day. She would have helped but she was too busy helping civilians escape to jump in. "It sounds like he's had it rough for a while now. Makes me wonder what pushes him to keep moving forward. Most people would have given up by this point" she said
(is it bad that I want him to call her his "little firefly" just to piss her off. That nickname is just too good lol)

Farlow smiled a little. "It's because he has a dream. Something to live for. Something to work towards." They stepped into the room Ollie, Ash, Finla and Lowen were in. Ollie was laying unconscious on one couch while Ash and the ferretings slept on the another couch.

Why would Alpha be looking for him? He let out an exasperated sigh. Thinking about it made his head hiss and spit at him like an angry cat and he wasn't in the mood for it. "You sure missed out on a lot these last couple of days." Ringo swirled his glass and listened to the ice clink. "Last night some girl broke in and took the weathergirl. Today Alpha went on some sort of revenge quest." He absentmindedly rubbed a bruise on his jaw. His fingers brushed against his scar and his hand paused there. He let out a single halfhearted laugh that didn't reach his eyes, and he lowered his hand. "I really hated that guy..." Ringo lifted his cup, taking a big swig of his whiskey. How many years had it been? He could hardly remember at this point. It felt like he'd been doing it all his life. Despite being only in his late twenties, he had been in the Red Gorilla Gang longer than most of the others. He had been merely a boy when he first got stuck in the shady business of gang life. (Hope that's workable.) |

Alex nodded. "Sounds like a plan to me. You take the first shots, then I'll get the ones on the right." He opened and closed his tether claw hand in anticipation as he mapped out an optimal route in his head to taking out both turrets. From his point of view, he was simulating his approach to the turrets with AR holograms only he could see. After a moment, he decided on a plan of action that would seem to work the most effectively.

Styx: Small but mischevious, evil little gremlin. A bit horrifying at times, Styx has landed herself somehow with a crew of heroes. Claims sheβs from another reality....she actually isn't, but sheβs not going to tell anyone that soon. Sheβd much rather keep her pawns clueless to her game.
Robin: Young redheaded girl, friend of Ollie and sister of Arien. Robin is a kindhearted, sweet girl, who makes it her goal to help others. She lost her abilities to Orion, but still tries to help when possible. Sheβs currently missing.
Starling: Powerless hero who helped lead the group in the beginning.
