My work is understaffed to the point there is at most 4 people working ( Petco) and this morning we had 3. My manager WALKED OUT BECAUSE HE WAS MAD. He has the hardest job here and so it was TWO PEOPLE.
I texted my boss and she told me she can't hire more people because there isn't enough hours. LIKE WHAT ARE YOU TALKING ABOUT I DON'T CARE JUST GET SOMEBODY IN HERE.
Most of us work our asses off so idk why we aren't getting anything done.

you do realize tho that if you do quit you make it that much worse for the few employees who are left. if it is really that bad anyway.

I would wait and see if anything changes (maybe give it a month or so) and if there is no sign of changing, then I would start looking for a new job. You shouldn't have to be overworked like that, but I agree with Striker, if you do quit now you'll make it much harder for the others that are left.

i could tell you so many horror stories from when my brother worked for petco
they have such awful management. and from what i hear it seems to be a widespread thing, not just a few isolated cases that could be expected for any chain.

go work at petmart theyre better petco is 100 times better imo It really just depends on the people there. My Petsmart is really good and I tried to get a job there. The temperatures were correct in all reptile tanks, everything is cleaned out once a day, they don't use any sand for the animals and they have good quality things like items from Zoo Med or Exo Terra. So I disagree, I think Petsmart is better. At least for mine. I bought a gecko there and he is perfectly fine today. I think it really depends on the people working there.

i was speaking more toward the management of either place

I know this may sound bad...but if they just cut the hours of the employees already hired then they will have more hours to hand out to new employees.

Otherwise I think it depends on the managers. My manager is reasonable, but she doesn't know anything about running a store.

I used to work for Old Navy and this happened too, to a degree. They ended up giving me a 3 hour shift every other week. That's honestly ridiculous. Luckily I was still in high school so it didn't matter too much, but now I'm desperately looking for work and it's so darn difficult :/
