Often times, I find it hard to get myself to sleep. I usually lay in my bed for somewhere between 30 minutes and an hour before I fall asleep. My mind tends to be active with thoughts, such as my characters from stories that I'm writing or my roleplays. A couple of times recently, I couldn't fall asleep until sometime past midnight event though I went to bed around 10:30. Can someone offer some advice?

same. for me, i just go on my computer until 4 am because i'm actually not tired trying to get out of that habit though by turning the lights off, ignoring all thoughts that come in my head and close my eyes i don't have much advice because i have no idea how to fix it for myself

i have a rlly hard time falling asleep due to pain from nerve problems but before this is why i couldn't sleep, i found setting up a routine helps a lot. try to go to bed at roughly the same time every night even during the summer and try to do the roughly same things in roughly the same order beforehand. for example, during the school year i go to bed at midnight every night (unless i Have to stay up later for a bigger assignment) and beforehand i do homework until roughly 11:00pm, and then i screw around on my laptop (usually on tumblr, twitter, and discord) and listen to music. then i brush teeth and wash my face. then for 15 minutes, i listen to a certain album and play candy crush. having a routine is p calming for me. also, don't work on your writing before bed (give yourself like 2 hours free from it) if that's what keeps you up.
