Arianna shook her head. "No. It's happening again." She whimpered and curled towards him. "Ryan" she gasped softly.

Melissa was so greatful for this day to themselves. They can finally kiss one another and it doesn't have to be a peck like at school. It was a rare event if Derek was able to kiss Melissa, and even rarer one if they were able to make out. That was usually in his truck if he ever decided to take it to school, and only in the mornings since her parents know what time she gets home. But now she didn't have to worry about that, she can just focus on now. And right now, to her was, was all that mattered. She did as Derek requested and set up the plates and cups but once she finished that and went back to the kitchenette, she felt arms wrap around her and she looked up at him with a smile as she did so. "And you're very handsome Derek." She turned her head to the side so she could kiss Derek's cheek and repay him for the one she recieved on her shoulder. "I'm very lucky to have you Derek, you mean the world to me." Melissa turned her body around she was chest to chest with Derek rather than back to chest. She looked up at him expectantly after she turned around. "Can the prisoner get another kiss from her guard?" She asked with a chuckle.

Derek's smile widened as she turned in his arms. Nodding happily, a small chuckle escaped him as he leaned down and kissed her softly. The slowness of the kiss didn't last long, the built up desire for kissing her over the past few months had started to knocked down the walls. He wrapped an arm around her waist and the other slipped into her hair. "Mine." He murmured against her lips. "You're mine forever." He murmured softly, after finally breaking their quickly passionate kiss, resting his forehead against hers he murmured "Let's eat baby." He kissed her forehead softly and lead her to the table. "I plan on kissing you all night long."

Melissa hasn't been able to kiss Derek like that in the longest time, and for it to happen now it felt like something out of a movie, or dream. But obviously it was none of those things since it was happening in real life. She felt very satisfied though even after he pulled away, because she know that Derek would make up for all that lost time today. She felt warm inside when he said she was his, Melissa hasn't ever heard that before. "I can't wait for that then." She blushed as she said so, not entirely sure if he meant making out or more. Either way though, she would be pleased. Melissa sat down at the table next to Derek, wanting to be as close as possible to him. She looked at the macaroni and cheese with a sort of light in her eyes. She was starving, as she had only had a protein bar for breakfast and it was already three o' clock or 1500. "It looks amazing Derek, I wish I could cook like you. My mother does all the cooking in my house." She paused for a moment and looked at him with a smirk, "So does that make you a mom and dad to your siblings?"

Derek smiled and pulled out her chair for her as she sat and pushed it in, then sat in his spot beside her. He dished them out a good helping of mac and cheese. He made sure to bring dishes so anything left over could be put in the containers for left overs in case they got hungry later. Though he had also bought a lot of other food for later. Mostly popcorn, a variety of chips, and other little snacks. He gently placed his hand on her leg, rubbing it gently as she talked, something he had come to do often when they sat together, he usually only did it in the truck, which he found himself taking everyday now, instead of the bike. Mainly because it was way easier to make out in his truck in the morning, and because it was still winter outside and freezing. Listening to her he smiled. "Gee thanks." He stuck his tongue out at her playfully. "I'll be honest probably a mother because I don't really know what a father should do. Or maybe both because I taught them all how to play baseball and basketball." He shrugged slightly. "I love sports, though I could never join any teams because I was never in a town long enough to actually join one." He glanced at her. "I'm glad I'm here with you though." He leaned in and kissed her softly for a moment. "My mother said we might be moving soon. I told her that it's not going to happen. The kids and I are going to stay here and she can go wherever her job needs here, but we all had a life here and we weren't going to uproot it anymore for her." He squeezed her leg slightly. "I don't think I can bear the thought of going to a new school without seeing your smiling face." He told her truthfully. Shaking his head slightly. "Lets talk about it later. I want to enjoy today with you." He leaned in and pecked her lips, then Derek began eating, but kept his hand in her lap happily. Truth be told he wanted to do more than make out with her today, he wanted to take the next step and prove how much he cared for her, but he wasn't sure if she was ready and he would never push her if she wasn't ready for that.

Melissa thanked Derek as he pulled out a chair for her. Despite what most people thought of him, he was quite the gentleman. Holding open doors for her and others, using his manners, among other things. While he clearly wasn't the preppy or prim and proper type, he was just the right balance of gentle and bold. When he was around Melissa anyway, but around others he was very neutral, not being nice - except to Melissa of course - nor rude and that was mainly in the classes she had with him. The others she wasn't sure about though, but she wasn't sure whether or not to ask whenever they text one another in the afternoon. When he put a hand on her leg though, she smiled again. It was those little things that really made the difference to Melissa and she assumed Derek as well. Her smile turned into a frown though when he talked about his mother and how she said they may move again. The mere thought of being apart from Derek for who knew how long with the only source of communication being cellular devices made her want to cry. She couldn't bear to part from him, not unless he could visit her in Alaska whenever he had the opportunity to. However, she didn't even have the time for tears to come to her eyes before Derek said that he and his siblings weren't leaving. It was truly music to her ears, she loved his siblings, she had grown attached to them after seeing the triplets again on Christmas with had parents. She pitched in with her family to get them presents, assuming their mother wouldn't get them many. But Melissa made sure to have enough money leftover to buy Derek something, which ended up being a nice watch. An expensive watched that she had monogrammed with his initials. “Speaking of enjoying our day,” even though it was technically night due to Alaska’s odd position, making this time of year night twenty-four seven, “I decided to get you something. Since it's Valentine's Day and all. Well, actually it's several somethings. Want a hint?” she asked with a slight tease in her voice after she took a few bites of the food. It truly was delicious, Derek had outdone himself. Having it just be the two of them for a ‘day’ and night with no kids, no parents, and no rules, and in a room of their own, was truly something else. It was an over the top Valentine's Day gift, but a romantic one nonetheless.

Ayslin giggled and playfully tugged on his hair. "Baby can I have more grilled cheese? You make such yummy grilled cheese." She whined softly and nuzzled him.
Derek looked at his girlfriend and smiled slightly as she mentioned getting him something. "You know you didn't have to get me anything. I'm more than happy to just be here with you." He leaned in and kissed the side of her head. "Having you is the only gift I will ever need." He had been a bit nervous about telling her about his mother's plans, but when she didn't get completely upset he was glad he told her. Honestly he didn't care what his mother said anymore. The fight they had had over the whole moving idea had angered him so much he screamed at her. Something he had never done. She may not have raised him, but she was still his mother. And yelling at your mother was something you just did not do. He had been so angry that she was so willing to disturb their lives again, after months. The kids had made friends, he had Melissa, and the school year was nearly over. There was no way he was going to up and move again this close to the end of the school year. His mother had hardly been home at all. She even missed her kids birthday. Who does that? The kids turned six. How does a mother just miss their birthday? The kids didn't understand why their mother wasn't there, but he tried to still make it special. All of their classmates came, and Melissa and her family came and they played games, just to make sure they didn't notice no parent had come to see them on their birthday. Honestly their mother didn't even come home that night. The fact she'd missed the kids birthdays was the final straw. In the past she always came home, but she hadn't even known she had missed them or the holidays. She seemed to have no sense of when it was. it angered him so much. Blinking away the memories he focused on his food and shrugged, "I think I will just wait and enjoy my surprise." He kissed her softly, even though they both had mac and cheese in their mouths as he pecked her lips. "Besides," he added as he swallowed his mouth full, "I have something for you too and you get to wonder what it is, all day." he grinned at her cheekily, knowing exactly how curious she was, especially with surprises.

Melissa knew she didn't have a get Derek anything, but what kind of girlfriend would that make her if she didn't buy her boyfriend anything on Valentine's Day. Besides, whenever someone say you didn't have to get them something, that was just the modest way of saying they did in fact want a present but were much too humble to say so. Melissa was like that. Her parents would ask her what she would want on her birthday, Christmas, or some other sort of holiday where you exchanged gifts, and Melissa would either give them a very short list or none at all and they would have to logically guess what she wanted. Usually they got it right, which wasn't very surprising. Being an only child your parents payed attention to you a lot more, so Melissa was a bit spoiled, even if she didn't want to be.”But I did have to. I wanted to. You're a wonderful boyfriend to plan this for us,” she implied the reservations for the room, cooking, getting her a surprise, and basically planning everything out for the small vacation they had. “I had to do something to pay you back.” she chuckled and continued to eat her food. When he said that he had a surprise for her as well, her attention was now on the food and Derek, but mostly Derek because of her curiosity. She swallowed her food before saying anything but her eyes were bright nonetheless and she smiled as she spoke out of excitement. “can I at least get a hint please? Just one, like...what letter does the word start with?” Melissa begged him, she was dying to know. She figured though that if it was anything like this, then it had to be wonderful. And not just because it was from Derek - although that definitely helped - but because that's just how Melissa was: nosy. She had to know everything when it came to those she was close to. “I’ll...I don't know I'll think of something, but I want to know.” she laughed as she spoke, not eating anymore while she was talking. She could afterwards, as it wasn't very polite otherwise. And that would surely be embarrassing if she were to make a mess while she was eating. It would make her look like a pig, or any animal for that matter that can't eat with utensils.

Noticing that sparkle in her eyes, as he mentioned the surprise, made him smirk slightly. He knew she wouldn't be able to resist not knowing. The idea of what she could possibly do made him shrug a little. There was no way she was going to get a hint. Derek rubbed her leg gently, not noticing he had accidentally brought it up higher. "You aren't getting any hints beautiful, no matter how much you beg." He chuckled and went back to eating his food, until the plate was empty. After they finished the first course and the second he grinned slightly. "I hope you like apple strudel. I wasn't sure if I should make apple or cherry so I tried to remember what kind of pie you ate over Christmas and I remembered you kept eating apple pie, so I made apple strudel. I hope it's good. I've never made it before." He let go of her leg long enough to get up and bring out the final course of food. He carefully put one on each of their plates and then set the dish down. He sat beside her once more, his hand slipping back right where it had been when he had left. Over the courses his hand slowly rose higher, but not too high. He wouldn't push his luck like that, or make her feel uncomfortable in any way. Glancing up from the food he looked at her. "Mel.." He paused for a moment and looked into her eyes. "I love you." He leaned in and kissed her softly, his other hand slipping into her hair as he gently massaged the side of her head slightly. They had said it before, on New Years. He had told her he loved her right before the ball dropped on the tv screen, then leaned in and kissed her before she could even say it back. Honestly he had been afraid of rejection.

Ayslin smiled and held his hand as she followed him into the kitchen. "Thanks baby." She nuzzled him happily.
Belle shrugged slightly. "Well now you have me. SO you aren't alone anymore." She kicked the ball back to him and bounced a little to keep herself warm, since it was getting colder.

Melissa stuck out her bottom lip in a fake pout when he told her she wouldn't receive any hints. But she didn't act that way for long, only a few seconds before smiling again and nudging him in the side as she did so. Whatever Derek had in store was a surprise, meaning she wasn't supposed to know until later. So unfortunately she would have to wait until he decided it was the right time to give her her present. To even guess at what it might be was a feat in itself, and not a challenge she was inclined to tackle at the moment. When he rubbed her leg a little and let his hand rest slightly higher than where it had been, she had not noticed. Not until he brought out the second course did she notice him move up a little higher, and then he did the same thing for the third. Melissa didn't stop him though, she trusted Derek not to go farther than what he knew she was comfortable with. He cared about her in that way and she greatly appreciated it. When he said her name she tore her gaze away from the strudel and looked at Derek with a puzzled sort of expression. But when he continued and said those three words, she gave him a soft smile, a warming and compassionate look in her eyes, and just before he leaned in all the way, she whispered, “I love you too.” Melissa met Derek’s lips with the same soft and slow pace of his kiss, and relished the warmth and comfort his hand provided as it gently massaged her head, not lulling her to sleep but it was relaxing all the same. This sort of reminded her of New Years, how he told her he loved her in the same nervous way. But at least this time she was able to respond.

Derek smiled as she told him that she loved him back. After dragging out the soft kiss for a few minutes longer he pulled back and hugged her close. "I'm glad." He murmured, it was kinda dorky, but he couldn't wipe the smile off his face. This was the best gift he could have ever gotten. She loved him too. It made everything in the world seem worth it. He wasn't sure how so much could change in just a few months, but he fell for her and he fell hard and fast. There wasn't a thing in the world he wouldn't do for her. After finally pulling away he let his hand return to her leg, it was a little lower than before, but not much. He had noticed how high it had gotten and had decided to not put it that high. He adored her and never wanted to scare her away. "Well here goes nothing." Picking up his strudel he ate it happily, it was actually really good. Considering ti was the first time he had ever made it, it was amazing. His was gone within a few minutes. He leaned back and rubbed his stomach slightly. She'd never seen him without a shirt on before, they'd gotten close once in the truck she'd started to lift his shirt during one of their make out session in the back of the truck, but then other cars had pulled in so they'd pulled away. Looking at her as she finished the strudel he smiled at her. "Do you like it?"

Amethyst continued to cook dinner on the stove, she was still quite upset with her son and wasn't speaking to him.
Belle bit her bottom lip and nodded slightly. "Can we? I'm really cold and its snowing." She pointed at the snowflakes as they fell around them. "I'll get my Momma and she can make us something to eat if you're hungry." She offered softly.
