when u love a lot of songs by a certain artist that happen to be "rare" songs meaning they were never official releases, part of a compilation, were limited releases/editions for weird amounts of time, etc etc
and u can actually find a few on youtube
but not on like. any legit download sites
i'd rather idk. do a legit download than convert to mp3 and download myself even tho it's easy if that makes sense. i've always felt a bit weird about ripping music off youtube

Ugh, same. Like, I can't find Marina and the Diamonds' "Love is EVOL" anywhere but Youtube, and the same goes for so many other songs I enjoy.

honestly? not familiar with Rare Sufjans in particular but i can relate. not so much recently but i have a lot of fav songs and things that are bootlegs and things. things and things. Things
but anyway yeah i never rip of youtube either? even if the quality is like, basically the same (ie. awful) i just cant rip off of youtube i have to download things as mp3s thats just Life ok (speaking of which i dont know if u mean legit download as in paid but like.... thats literally impossible for some live versions etc. the point is i found a folder of sufjan rarities apparently; idk whats in it exactly and its a couple of years old but. you know. i can send it to u through pm or something but i take no responsibility if ur computer dies as a result)
this also all reminds me that theres a specific frank ocean song ive never been able to find in good quality rip i used to have it on my ipod that died and now its just.... gone basically. i mean ive found it but all of them sound like the audio equivalent of fried instagram memes. which.... tbh was sort of the original quality but not THIS bad
