(ok, here's my starter! c: )
Colby ran a hand though his dark hair one last time, glancing in the mirror to make sure it looked presentable. If disheveled hair was considered presentable, that is. After finally deciding he looked fine, in a black tee, dark jeans, and a pair of beat up conversed, he exited the bathroom and picked up his backpack on the way out of his bedroom. You see, if you wanted to make an impression, it was always fantastic to show up five minutes late to class on the first day of school. Snatching his keys and a granola bar of some sort, the recently eighteen year old headed out the door and to his car to drive to school. His family wasn't rich, but they weren't poor either. They had a nice house, nice vehicles, and definitely a bit of spare money. Colby didn't use that though, he had his own job at a grocery store. Not fun, but it brought in cash. In which he spent on whatever he could get his hands on--cigarettes, alcohol (of course from his buddies that were older than him), and basically anything of that sort. Once he was in the car and on his way to school, the realization sunk in. He'd have to spend everyday for the next nine months in this place. How fantastic. Sarcasm intended. Rolling his eyes at the thought, Colby pulled into the lot and parked his car. He managed to sneak in through a side door, his friend Jacob waiting there for him to open it. They walked together down the hall before parting ways as Colby pulled the door open to his first class of the day. English. He smirked a bit as the teacher looked over at him with an unamused look. Mr. Stevenson had taught a class Colby had last year, so they were quite familiar with each other. "Have a seat, Blakeslee." Stevenson grumbled, before getting back to what he was saying. Colby slid into an empty desk, kicking back at looking around the room to see who else was in the class.

On the other hand, Marina led a very different life from Colby. Where he had his black tee, dark jeans, and beat up converse, she opted for a white button down, a pair of clean dark blue skinny jeans, and a pair of grey nondescript Keds. Her black hair was always tied up in a well kept high pony tail, the only thing changing about her hairstyle the colour of her hair tie. Her family was not well off, especially since she lived with her mother alone after her father had cheated and let them earlier this year, leaving Marina with an always tired mother with a short temper and the tendency to storm around the house. Whereas Colby decided to show up five minutes late, Marina was always 10-15 minute early, sometimes 9 minutes early if her walk to school got drawn out. After all, staying at home was no joy parade for her, and she found herself leaving a little earlier and earlier each day. She worked 4 to 5 hours a day, 6 days a week, at the local bookstore, and her time was divided solely between school, work, and home.
So when Colby Blakeslee decided to arrive late to class, the only thing he got from Marina Haley Lakeside was a sideways glare and a deep frown. Then, she was back to studiously taking notes as the teacher spoke.

Colby's green eyes trailed across the room, narrowing a bit in pure satisfaction when he noticed Marina was in the same class. Now, wouldn't this be fun. She was only a couple desks away, and by the look of it, was not impressed at his late entrance. So he made sure to remember to catch her after class. For some reason, Colby was the type of kid to never admit his feelings to anyone. Whether it was romantically or just in general. He enjoyed keeping the tough, bad-boy act up. That resulted in his ways of bothering Marina. The past few years, in the classes they shared, Colby always made a point to annoy her, bother her, maybe even accidentally copy her whole homework assignment. You never knew. When his eyes flicked over to her, he smirked a bit and raised an eyebrow.
