idk ive known about these for a while
if i ever had enough money/the resources to properly to take care of it i might get one, but i don't know really... like arent foxes meant to be wild creatures? isnt it a little messed up that humans domesticated an animal just cause theyre cute even though thats how all pets came to me domesticated
am i being nuts
eh
so whatever if you want to debate cool if not talk about what kind of fox youd want or jUST FOXES
im a mess

Me in one post
I want a Red fox tbh. I know there's a group who's been domesticating them for decades, but they take a lot of work because they're highly destructive

When I took a pre-vet class in middle school, someone in my class had a pet fox. I saw pictures but I never actually went to see it in person.

One of the actually domesticated ones (Siberian foxes. Though they're from Russia, so good luck getting one) sounds okay, but it would be a bit difficult to keep, but holy hell would it be a problem to obtain.
Taming things is different from domesticating them

I might be able to get one when I go to grad school in Ontario, we'll see

Dogs evolved from wild animals. So did most "farm" animals. I consider it less cruel to domesticate them and then keep them as pets rather than actually just bringing an untame wild animal into your house.
One of my mom's friends has a pet fennec fox, and it's really sweet towards people but also very misbehaved. I mean it's sort of similar to keeping parrots as pets. They can be trained, but if they see no benefit for themselves in doing something, they just won't do it. So if there's no benefit for them to not poop on your carpet, they'll continue pooping/peeing on your carpet. All animals, including humans, are like this to an extent. Some just worse than others.
If you really feel bad about buying a fox and supporting people continuing to breed them, look into a rescue. They are popping up everywhere now that they're more popular as pets, because people get them for the cute factor and then can't handle their care.

I don't have any strong relation to foxes so I don't rlly care abt them that much. I guess as long as they're legal to own and people can care for them properly I don't have too strong of opinions
