Ah, I shouldn't have done this. I don't have anybody to vent to so I thought posting this here would be a good idea. People probably think I'm just making things up to get attention. Ignore this, please.

I completely understand where you're coming from. When I was 15 there was a boy ahead of me in school that I knew because I took a class with him and I saw him in the Halls frequently as our school wasn't very big. He passed away from cancer when he was 16, I was 15.
It hit me incredibly hard just because that was the first person I knew personally that passed away at that young age. It's not something you really just get over easily, even though you weren't friends with them. It changes you slightly, I know it definitely made me realize that people die. Death doesn't play favorites when it comes to picking people. You just have to learn from their death and move on.
