I'm 25 now. (And typed 24 on the first attempt, bleh.) And heh, my earlier stuff in this list is so 90s/early 00s.
Age < 7:
- Ms Pac Man, my first video game, on a computer older than me
- Polly Pocket (not the "Fashion Polly" things they came out with later, these were
basically very miniature dollhouses with the people being less than an inch tall)
- Pound Puppies (similarly - thought not quite as - small
playsets)
- Disney movies, especially Lion King which was the first movie I saw in theaters
- Playing with chalk, especially drawing a town on the cement and I would then bike around the "roads"
- Playing in the sandbox
Age ~7-9:
- Pokemon! TV show, movies, cards, etc. This was when the craze first hit and everyone at school was absolutely obsessed and it really annoyed the teachers
- Saturday morning cartoons. Pokemon was one staple, Cardcaptors was another favorite.
- Beanie Babies. This was also when the craze hit and they were hard to find and people were buying them like crazy thinking they would be worth a ton someday.... and then they weren't. But I loved 'em anyway and had a ton and my sister and I had this whole story where our Beanies were in two allied kingdoms we had all these family and relationship groups organized and they'd have weddings and balls and stuff. My favorite was a mini Flip the White Cat from McDonalds who was the princess of my Beanies (daughter of queen Mattie the cat and king Zip the ca, and rider of the dragon Scorch.)
- Furby (
this was mine)
- This was about when I became obsessed with cats
- Rollercoaster Tycoon on the computer (we got a Windows 98)
- Jump Start games on the computer (Jump Start 2nd Grade was the best)
- Britney Spears, N'Sync. Hated country music.
- Harry Potter, which became a lifelong obsession; got the first book for my 7th birthday which was a few days before the book Prisoner of Azkaban was released. I was annoyed about hearing about it everywhere but ended up actually really liking the book.
- Hank the Cowdog books
- Surge soda
- Climbing trees
- The color pink
Age ~10-12
- Gameboy: started with a Gameboy Color and Pokemon Silver at age 10 after years of saving up the $1 my grandma would give after every visit. Later got a Gameboy Advance (which were already out when I got my GBC but too expensive at that point) - Pokemon, Super Mario World, Spyro: Season of Ice.
- Those "Fashion Polly" toys -
this pool set was the best
- Cats and reading every cat book in the library; this was when I discovered Warriors
- Zoo Tycoon on the computer
- Wolves and reading every wolf-related book in the library
- Animorphs books
- Harry Potter
- Little House on the Prairie (to the point the neighbor who babysat us and the other neighbor girls set up a play for family and other neighbors, we spent all summer rehearsing it and making costumes and stuff)
Age ~13-14
- Nature; I was obsessed with like My Side of the Mountain and similar books and spent much of my free time out in the woods. One of my teachers even commented that I'd definitely be a naturalist one day (and I might've been if not for my love of computers)
- Warriors, wolves, Harry Potter, Pokemon games
- Redwall
- Warriors sites (my first time using the internet on my own much to my parents' disapproval)
- Dragons, and reading every dragon book in the library
- Country music
- The color purple
High school
- Fantasy in general
- Wii
- manga/anime
- The Hunger Games
- Warriors, wolves, Harry Potter, Pokemon games
