telling someone they're being rude isn't being rude in my opinion it'll help if you can name specific examples of them being rude and then explain why what they did was rude

If they don't mean to be rude, then just ask them to word it differently, if they're straight up being an a--hole, then it's more than appropriate to say that they're being rude in a way that might be rude. Don't be afriad of offending them because if you do call them out and they are offended, then they are still likely to begin to watch how they say things.
