Do people actually have those southern drawl accents? xD Is it limited to a region/community kinda thing or is that kinda just hyped up for the media?

Most people have a slight southern accent, but i think that the people from the eastern side tend to have thicker accents.. Texan accents are very exaggerated in movies cx Personally, I don't have a very noticeable accent but I do tend to say y'all a lot If you're curious, there is a site that studies accents and has a page with examples of different Texan accents.. Most people I know sound like this www.dialectsarchive.com/texas-7

I'm Canadian and I definitely don't catch myself saying "eh" or "aboot" nearly as much as it's portrayed, if at all, haha xD
