(In the future, the main use of mind reading tech will be trying to figure out what presents people want. I guarantee it.) I remember you saying that! That shows how much you've improved at writing I'd definitely read Mortality 3.0 if you ever did revisit it. I'm not sure about straight rewriting that story, but I'd definitely consider repurposing the world/characters. You poor thing! We had snow a few weeks back, but since then it's been pretty mild. I've been going outside without a coat this past week. Have you tried pacifying them with a sneak peek sideshow? 103... Hmm, with what I have planned out, Butterflies probably will get to that length. How long that'll take is another matter.

I swear I replied to this but I guess it was a case of replying in my head. :/ I want to revisit it but on the other hand I have so many other ideas. Whoops though. I saw someone was doing a Firestar/Mosskit AU like I was planning to do so I guess I wont be doing that next. Lately I've been geeking out over mythology, so maybe by the time Sky of Shattered Stars is done I'll be able to ride the wave for that. And ... finish ... the game. XD The Game at this point is a world I like to play in whenever I have time and get board. I'm not sure where it's going to end at any given time. Mortality certainly is something to come back to, though. Because Soot was a very interesting concept for a character and I want to try to do that again. Not sure how I'd do it yet and whether I'd be rewriting it with updated writing or really going all out and doing what I did with A New Life - just taking all the characters and then adding a semi-new story line and plot twists. We'd have to see. I still have to go out with a coat, though that's mostly because I have the last of the flu. Of course! But they thought the plot-screen was too thin! Go Sapphire go!

Don't worry about it xD I don't know how many times I've typed up a reply or whatever only not to post it. It's a curse. That's a mood. For some reason thinking up ideas takes so much less time than actually writing them out... And ugh, that's frustrating. I guess you can still come back to it one day - whatever their plot is, it's not gonna be the same as yours. Meanwhile both mythology and the Game sound very interesting. What sort of mythology were you thinking? I guess it depends - if you mostly like the current plot then do the updated writing option, if you only like the concept/characters then go with the full reworking. Or you could do a sequel/prequel which focuses on Soot's other adventures. False alarm, we're definitely back to coat weather. It was good while it lasted. You poor thing! Flu's really bad - I hope you're feeling better. Oh no, have they realised that the outline tent poles are unstable? That could send the whole thing crashing down. Thank you Your encouragement must be helping, because I'm almost done with chapter 17 now! And I'm considering a very interesting twist that I may or may not put in chapter 18...

Thank you Your encouragement must be helping, because I'm almost done with chapter 17 now! And I'm considering a very interesting twist that I may or may not put in chapter 18... Very, very true. I find it very fun to come up with a basic idea and then work on it for aaaaaaaaages. Lately I've been looking at story building videos on YouTube and practically scribbling down (mental) notes for Will C. Morgen's story. Enough so that I've noticed a couple places I'll want to develop, but overall being very pleased with how I've built it so far. I really want to dive into the next book soon - when I actually have time *cries*. As for the Firestar-is-Mosskit idea I'll probably come back to it. I know it isn't going to be the same, but I want to have the other forumer tell there story without the risk that we'll take attention away from each other in some fashion. As it is, I have stories I want to tell just as much. I have a very interesting desire to tell all the plots I've ever come up with, so I'll just dive at my plot notebook and break out a new AU to bug or a new storyline. It's fun playing in the world of The Game, since the characters are just ... everywhere. I also might want to look at my previous storyline which I also used a lot for Tuesday's Challenges back in the day. Where each character had a connected animal spirit, I think it was? And then I had a small plot twist and some angst that I was working on, but mostly dropped to focus on the Game. I could probably work it into my mythology temptation. Currently I'm obsessing with Norse mythology. That, and eyeing Dionysus because random interest. Truly, however, I know how the general idea of 'Well, let's put mythology into the warrior world!' works. It's been done a lot already, mostly with created gods, to good results. But I've started boiling a different idea. As is my want, since I kinda like doing that. It might twist the other storyline idea that I mentioned, but maybe not. As it is, I have plans AND those plans might also make it to be a original plot as well. If my motivation lasts. Or it might just end up a cool fic with a lot of evil plotting. A sequel/prequel is actually a very interesting idea! There are actually a few things in the ... I can't remember what I called the A New Life series. o.o Power of something? Anyway, it had other plots and things within it that I might have been tempted to explore, since there was some vaguely interesting stuff there (other than the random romance plot which didn't need to be there??? Why???) But what's bugging me about Mortality is the subplot pacing. There's Whitefire and Soot's integration into ThunderClan, which is almost as badly glossed over in Mortality as Whitefire's was in A New Life (this was before Soot existed). In fact, the pacing is the only thing that's really bugging me. Because any other problems I have with it would work themselves out if they'd been given a bit more time. On the other hand, I could just rewrite with a whole new plot but the same characters and then it wouldn't take anything away from the original. Or to phrase that differently, instead of having one or the other, I can have both and avoid picking bits from version 1 and 2 and saying which I like better. Hah hah or maybe I just can't move on. On other news, progress on the Butterfly Effect is being made! I'm getting better, but it's going slower. Stay warm! Of course they've noticed! They saw the show on criticism a half hour ago! Ooooo! Twist! Do a twist! Twist!

I'm having a bad case of that at the moment - procrastinating on working out that plot twist in Butterflies by planning an entire fantasy trilogy that there's no way I have the time to write. But at least you're making progress with something - hopefully you have time for Will soon! Oh, definitely. And it's easier to just enjoy their story if you're not working on something similar. A plot notebook sounds like a good idea. Definitely need one of those... Ooh, I think I remember that world! And I'd be really interested to see how you subvert the mythology thing, whether in that world or not. I can see Norse mythology working really well in a Warriors setting tbh - and I don't think anyone's done that yet. Evil plotting is always good Ahh, now I get it. (Random romance plots are random xD Do you remember which characters it involved?) I guess it depends, do you have an idea of what the new plot would be? And probably you just can't move on xD It's very frustrating when Past You didn't get something quite right. Yay, progress!! Good luck c: Noo, the audience knows too much for its own good. We need to find them an actual chapter - and soon. I want to... but I'm still trying to figure out how that will affect the plot going forwards. So chapter 18 is on hold until I can make the twist work or think of something better that can happen.

I dearly hope so. Next month is Camp NaNo, isn't it? I need to try to finish Butterfly Effect this month so I can write book 3 of Will next month. Also, I need to update Poisoning the Sea. I'm ... so spotty with update, ouch. :/ I'm plotting - or at least thinking - about the characters and the world now. It's post-apocalyptic and I'm going to have a lot of fun with it. Though admittedly I need to plot out how everything works and what does and does not happen. Evil plotting is wonderful and so are notebooks. Dream journals too, since I tend to dream up plots in some fashion. Ooooooooh yes. Of course I remember. It was Moleclaw and Hollyheart (Moleclaw was the name of Molepaw - who later got the canon name of Molewhister and gets mixed up with Mousewhisker). I also didn't know how to write any sort of romance, so I just basically stated it was a thing. But at least after that I showed some stuff in flash-backs, so I sort of knew what I was doing??? I have no clue. But there was a lot different from the first draft and this one. Interestingly enough, in some fashion, part of the book is now sneaking into Sky of Shattered Stars. My younger self had one plot twisty thought in the book and I'm going to end up using it. Well, as for new plot, I'm thinking about making Hollyleaf's POV a lot longer than it originally was. There are some things there and I think Soot has a lot more of a past and personality that needs digging up. On that thought, there is actually more of the plot from the original draft which I can pull. In theory, I just rewrote book 1, but added an ending and a lot of things which weren't in there. There were 4 out of 6 books (I say books, but they weren't that long) which I write and each had a slightly different idea I could use. Even adding a sequel perhaps, or I say 'sequel' but it would just be kinda an AU? Like, it would have all the same characters, but a different overarching plot to have them play out. Then I could also fix the subplot just by rewriting it into the AU. What we keep saying about Plot Circus reminds me about the bookworms and other weird things in the Library in Discworld. You can do it, Sapphire! You got this!

A compromise between fixing those issues and giving people a fresh plot to read. And I would love to find out more about Soot c: Me too! That's probably not a coincidence that we both like Discworld... Seems like the inspiration balloons are leakingThanks! I hope so

~Sapphire~I'M EXCITED Favorite scenes within the last couple of chapters or within the whole fic? A lot, honestly. I stopped coming on here because I got a job, that job required me to get up at three forty in the morning to catch my bus, and I would be working ten hour days more often than not, which meant that I had a mental health crash, which meant I had a creativity crash, and the realization that maybe this isn't the industry for me? which was hard considering I had a Life Plan and that plan wasn't working out. But now I'm going back to school to get my bachelor's/master's (because I have an associates degree in a technical field right now) starting in april and I'm excited! how about you?

It will not be our world! It will be another world, with a different terrain and different expectations. There would have no humans, ever, on this world. But it would still have experienced an apocalypse. Erg. I hate those. I've actually had a couple positive dreams from worrying. One of them helped me pass a very serious test (by 6 points. Juuuust making it. But I'd failed it three times before and the fourth was my final shot). I was stressing so badly but the day before I had a dream which basically was some fictional characters telling me that I just needed to get through it and there was going to be a light at the end of the tunnel. Soot wasn't actually in A New Life. He was completely a product of Mortality. Originally he was just a normal cat, but then he got more mysterious and I decided to pull the 'ha ha ... you were actually dead all along' card for Hollyleaf. It will end in complete mayhem, that is where! I'm sure that I'll entertain the idea further. Someone call the muses to come blow them up again!

Naturally! Their motives can't be obvious if not even the author knows them xD I've been... up to stuff. College work's been keeping me pretty busy (which is why I haven't been on here) but I only have a few more weeks until freedom! And then getting ready to go away to uni in the autumn... I've made some progress with Butterflies and I think I've figured out how to get that pesky plot twist to work. And I'm off to see Muse soon, which I'm really excited for How about you? Anything nice happen since we last talked? (Also, about your status, hope you feel better soon! Read some good books!)

Oh cool! I've listened to a bit more by Muse since we last talked. I've been watching the Good Omens TV series - which, by the way, is really, really good. Today we (the family) went to a book sale. So I got some new books. I haven't really been focused enough to read, but I have exchanged that for watching movies ha ha. Other than that, I've been writing a few short stories, though I've fit a snag in one that I'm still not sure how to work out. I'm feeling a bit better, so that's good. Other than that, I've just been movin' along.

I'm ridiculously excited Ooh, nice! Any songs in particular? Yes! Heard it was good (ha) though I've not been able to watch so far. I'm glad you're enjoying it! Book sales are the best! Especially the second hand ones where you can walk out with like twenty books... But movies and writing also sounds very cool. What are the stories about? (You can always pm me if you need help figuring out snags c: ) Good to hear Indeed cx

Also hey, to show that I've not entirely forgotten about this fic, have a teaser from (near the end) of chapter 18! “Nowhere,” Sol says. “Any other questions? Perhaps an apology?”
“I’m not apologising to you,” Ivypaw says.
“I don’t see why you shouldn’t,” Sol says. “I’ve not had a fork end this badly in a long time.”
“Why did you take me here? And what did you mean earlier, about the hurricane?”
“Did I tell you about Midnight in this fork?” Sol asks. The name’s familiar but Ivypaw can’t place it, so she shakes her head. “She’s a badger who helped me a lot in the early days. She has this saying, that the cause of a hurricane can be as insignificant as a butterfly beating its wings. Well, I'm the butterfly. This - you - are the hurricane. Understand?”
Ivypaw doesn’t, not really. She shrugs.
“I’ll say goodbye, then,” Sol says. “And if you remember any of this in the next fork, don’t try to come after me. You’ll only drag this out for both of us.”
The mist billows, blotting out Sol and the mountainside. “As if I’d want to come after you,” Ivypaw calls, but the words echo back to her, unanswered.

(You can always pm me if you need help figuring out snags c: ) Good to hear Indeed cx I'm not sure. I was just letting albums play. XD Yeeeeeeees. Watch it. Watch it. I've been through it 3 and a half times. I walked out with, like, 20 books. Which isn't the best because I just got rid of 20 books. Constant fluctuation it is. Well, I figured out the one snag. It was just two character talking to each other and being supportive. The current snag I have is for a different story and I have a snag there because I can't think up a plot. Whoops.

Fair enough xD Have you been listening to anything else good? I need to! Maybe when I'm done with the last of my exams... Did you read the book first or does it not matter? Hey, at least you're keeping the amount constant. I have books I've been meaning to get rid of for the past five years... Ugh, why are plots so difficult to come by? Does brainstorming ever work for you?

Currently I'm listening to whatever is turning up when I search 'piano music' or 'dramatic music'. Also, my friend's gotten me listening to Hadestown. I've read the book about 4 times over the years and once directly before watching the show. But I dragged in a total of 5 people who never ever read the books and they liked it just fine. The show and the book are really great. If you read the book, the show had surprises which fit perfectly into what you know about the book (My mom, who read the book, after watching the show said 'Oh yeah! I forgot X happened!' in a tone of voice that said now she remembered this happening in the book. I waited 5 seconds, my smile slowly growing, before I said 'Yeah ... that's because the show did such a good job ... because X didn't happen in the book.') And then there are things in the book that are cool, but you don't need to know them to understand the show. Slowly I'm trying to get through all of them. Slowly I may or may not be winning. I came up with a plot! To be exact, prompts and brainstorming really help, but it trades off which has better results. In this case, brainstorming failed, but prompts won.

Now that sounds like good music (like soundtracks? or more pop-y?). Ah, Hadestown, another thing I need to check out probably... Thanks, that's really good to know. Looks like I'll be watching the show and then trying to get hold of the book - it should be in my town library, right? You have no idea how much tantalising stuff I've been seeing about the show! You go, Mint! Save your bookshelves from collapse! And yay, I'm glad the prompt worked for you! Are the stories going to show up on the forums or are they original?

Well, there's stuff like this But most of it is soundtrack-like. None of it seems to be soundtracks, but it's like they could be soundtracks if you wanted. Hadestown is good. Oh ye. They should have it. But there is also a good chance it'll be checked out. XD All the tantalizing stuff is worth it! (I marvel at the tiny differences between your spelling and mine.) Well ... I finished reading one book. Now I'm reading two library books at the same time. Pfft. I mean they could turn up. But they're my weird Marvel/Morganville Vampire crossover fics, so I'm not completely sure who'd read them. Okay, the other one is Doctor Who (+ Morganville Vampires OC, but I haven't said that in the story yet) so I can probably do that one without too many eyebrows rising. Otherwise, unless someone wants to read through 1,000 pages worth of an RP, I doubt the other two will make sense.

Soundtracks-in-waiting, maybe? Now if I can get the courage to go reserve it from the front desk, that won't be a problem... But I watched the first episode of the TV series! And I want to watch more, but I'm watching with my sister and trying not to cheat Aziraphale is one of my favourite TV characters in a while! (Yup, it's always the words you don't expect. And apparently you have a different definition of 'quite' than we do, which is interesting) Oh dear xD I've definitely seen more obscure crossovers c; Welcome to Night Vale and the Dresden Files, anybody? But hey, if you (and your RP partners) enjoy them, that's still time well spent

i get the sense this fic is almost over and YOU ARE KILLING ME i can't wait for ch 18!!! it's all coming to a head, the battle sequences flow so well, and i'm so worried about who's going to make it out alive (or undead, i guess?). great work as always! Yup, I don't know exactly how many chapters there are to go but we're definitely into the final act! I'm so glad you're enjoying the battle scenes (you have No Idea how much agonising went into them) and hopefully I can get you chapter 18 soon c:

There are some good animatics. I've watched it 8 times, sooooo. Aziraphale and Crowley are awesome in my opinion. (What other definition?) That IS an obscure one! I know Welcome to Night Vale but I have never heard of Dresden Files. Oh, I believe it's time well spent! And I believe my vague crossovers have still made it hear in small amounts. I finished one. I should post it.
