"I guess that makes sense," Darksun meowed. "I know a little about herbs, like what poppy seeds are for and what you do with cobwebs, and every cat knows about collecting mousebile, but it's not like I could do your job."
"Morningstar is usually more lenient with the kits," Brightsky told her, "It's you that's in danger. Especially if his father is a LightningClan cat."

Flameleaf nodded. "I can't see anyone in this clan being able to do my job competently besides me," she said dryly. The only thing she would trust a warrior with was collecting mouse bile.

Cavernkit sighed and got to his paws. He gave a small yawn. He started towards the nursery.

(FYI: I created a character, Robinwing, who is the former/technically current deputy, only he's injured and old, and is retiring- so that when we do fill the position, it will happen in rp with Robinwing officially retiring and Morningstar appointing his replacement, instead of poof sudden deputy.)

"That is true," Flameleaf said, "but you can't just learn how to be a medicine cat over the course of five moons and completely get it right. There's a reason why medicine cat apprentices take longer to get their names then regular apprentices do. And even when they do get their name, they still need to watch their mentor to make sure they're getting everything right." And even then, Flameleaf was a bit apprehensive about getting an apprentice. She was worried that she might forget to teach them something, and they would hurt a sick cat as a result.

"Morningstar used to say that when it comes down to it, experience is your best teacher," Darksun meowed, taking in what Flameleaf said. "You can't win every battle, just like you can't save every cat. But you can learn something, so that maybe you'll get a little better."

"Yes, that's it. You need experience to become a good medicine cat. Even if you have the best teacher in the forest, you need lots of time to gain experience before you're readt, which is why medicine cats are still learning long after they get their name," she said.

"We'll see what happens," Flametail said. In reality, she felt that Darksun could maybe become a deputy one day, but he would need more experience first.

"I should probably go," Darksun meowed, dipping his head to the medicine cat. He placed his paw gingerly to the ground, thought better of it, then limped out of her den.
Robinwing made his way into Flameleaf's den, making it a point not to limp even though the wound on his leg had yet to heal. "Flameleaf," he called out from the mouth of her den.

Yes, she is an extremely thick furred apprentice, something she inherited from her father, a deceased warrior that went by the name of 'Cicadastep'. Her pelt is dark gray in color, though if you just saw her out of the corner of your eye you'd think it'd be black. She has stocky shoulders, and rather large paws, something else she inherited from her father, as well as an oddly short tail. Her eyes are a common yellowish-green in color, that provide a stark contrast against her nearly black fur. | n/a | n/a | avatar | thesnackthatsmilesback |
Other: I prefer to work on my characters personality throughout the roleplay rather than be set to one specific guideline at the start. Which is why I didn't mention anything about her personality.
