"Puns won't earn you the pecans," Hugo responded "You're still not getting any."
When Caster mentioned that he would still be hungry after the cheesecake, Hugo looked up the table to where Ron was sitting.
"Hear that, dad? You might have competition" Hugo chuckled.
"I won't be defeated at eating, Hugo, not in my own house" Ron called back from up the table, laughing a little.
Hugo smiled but still pulled the cheescake further up the table toward him and Caster.
"Okay Carter, so what should we have before the cheescake? And don't say the candied yams. Don't choose anything with nuts in it."
"Why do teenage boys eat so much?" Hermione murmured, stunned, as her eyes travelled over all of the teenage boys at the table, each of which was either stuffing his face or choosing what else to eat. The girls were eating relatively normal amounts of food.
"I'm not a teenage boy" Ron said indignantly
"Yes, well, I think you're more stomach than Ron," Hermione responded dryly

CAster stuck his tongue out at his friend, pouting just a little when he realized he couldn't have those delicous yams. Oh well, maybe if he was lucky there'd be leftovers and he could find out where they kept those. Yeah, that sounded like a great idea. With a dramatic sigh he scanned the table, picking out a few things he didn't think had nuts in them.
"Fine, fine, umm... how about the stuffing? And maybe more of the ham? And, uh... what about the mashed potoatos, and the really yummy brown stuff over there, yeah, that..." he was actually verbalizing the food as he dumped it on his plate, grabbing a few rolls as well, relaxing when he heard Hugo's dad actually joke about being beaten in his own house.
He watched the two bicker back and forth fondly, truly happy that Hermione and Ron had that kind of relationship. He knew his parents didn't. But they showed their love for each other in different ways. He worked on his fifth plate, eyes wandering over to the "forbidden food", wondering if he could snag it when they weren't looking. He was as bad as a cat when someone told him he couldn't have something.
(Gotta love autocorrect XD one time I typed in Benadryl and it autocorrected to memes.)

Hmm well I think we might need to throw some major dramatic stuff in, maybe not necessarily family stuff. It's hard when you're setting something after Harry's time though, what with the lack of Voldemort)

Hmm, I like that x Made up of loyal Death Eater families except from the Malfoys because the Malfoys switched sides in the Battle of Hogwarts so would be traitors x I'll do a rp response tomorrow-

Satisfied that Caster hadn't chosen anything to which he was allergic, Hugo ate alongside him, putting some more food on his own plate because why the heck not eat more food? It was really nice food, anyway. Hugo couldn't exactly let it go to waste. Ron and Caster didn't appear to have the intention of letting any go to waste, anyway, so Hugo thought he had better get more food while he still could.
After a minute of eating and listening to his parents teasing eachother (with a little bit of ganging up on Harry for good measure), Hugo noticed his friend looking wistfully at the food Hugo had moved away from him. He really was convinced he could eat these things, wasn't he? Pollux was right. Hugo was glad he had listened to him.
"Sorry, Caster, but I'm afraid you're probably still allergic. Staring at them isn't going to make you less allergic," Hugo joked with a little smile "Come on, eat some more of the delicious food that won't make you die."
He felt bad for his friend, but Hugo couldn't help him. Allergies were allergies, after all, and Hugo was sure his friend was very, very allergic to these foods, even if he liked to pretend he wasn't. His reaction to eating the pecans had been bad. Nope, there was no way Hugo could let his friend have any of this food. Caster would have to stick to the food that wouldn't kill him.

Caster seemed to jump a little, looking sheepish when he realized he'd been caught sneaking looks at the food that contained nuts. He offered him a sheepish grin before adding some more to his plate- his sixth and maybe final one, he didn't know though, because he hadn't eaten really anything today- and eating it before rolling his eyes.
"Pecans won't kill me. Peanuts, walnuts, cashews, and almonds will," he retorted loftily, scooping some of the nutless food into his mouth. He remembered one time during his first year he decided that he wanted to try every nut, just to see what he was really allergic to.
Yeah, that had been a horrible, horrible idea because he ended up in the infirmy four times for a good few days because Madame Pomfrey wanted to check his reactions. Peanuts were by far the worst, and his allergic reaction kept coming back until the matron had to make up a potion instead of using the pen again, which technically is what you were supposed to do in the first place, but still. Maybe that was why his arms had gotten itchy again, and he was just hoping he wouldn't have a second reaction around them. If he did he'd probably die of embarrassment. He quickly finished the food that had been heaped onto his plate, finally thinking he could have desert. Maybe.
