idk what i'd call the best but this year's been p good in terms of new albums for me. sufjan stevens, the national, the mountain goats, the menzingers, AFI, the fleet foxes, and paramore all released new stuff and tbh i can't say i'm disappointed by any of it as a whole

2010, not even because the music from then was objectively better than the music from now, but literally no other music year makes me as nostalgic as it does.

idk dude, now seems like a great time for music.
everyone's taking what was good from the previous generations of music and combining it into a symphony of good tunes :^D i'm more into lo-fi and future-funk stuff, and there hasn't been as much of it as there is now, what with all the independent creators and that. c: so for me, no time like the present

actually the best music is before these dumb new age kids and their "instruments" like why?l even??? back in my day we had peasants beating random crap with sticks and it was so much better, real music back then. kids these days listen to garbage with "symphonies" and "orchestras" lmao that's horrible

2001 was the best yr for music imo because we got the "is this it" album by the strokes

I like the late 60s into the 70s.
But I think there is good music from every decade.

If we're talking decades, I listen to a lot of really old big-band stuff/swing style music from like the 20's-40's (or music that pulls inspiration from that era), but then also stuff from The British Invasion in the 60's-70's and then some punk and ska style stuff from the 90's lol I'm all over the place
But also lemme just say 2017 has actually been the bomb-diggity for new music. I've liked a LOT of new releases this year so far

2004, 2007, 2010, 2017 (so far)
1994-'96 was good as well, as was 1999-2001

20s-40s, definitely. ragtime, swing, big bands and the crooners... good stuff man but if we're talking modern music, I'd say early to mid 2000s I really haven't liked the most recent stuff tho, but to be fair I don't think I've actually heard anything from 2017 yet whoops
