Welcome to MorningClan
Of the Strong and Enduring!
MorningClan is one of two Clans who occupy the mountain foothills and the lowlands beneath. MorningClan, in particular, is the Clan of the forested lowlands, their personalities as sunlit and warm as their surroundings. Cats of MorningClan tend to be friendly, playful, and caring, and their name- reflecting the dawn of a new day and all it's potential- is appropriate. MorningClan cats form close bonds with their Clanmates, and care for them all, even those who are not their close friends or kin. Each cat would give their life for any Clanmate, and each member is valued individually- after all, with no cats, there is no Clan. MorningClan cats are to be nimble and swift enough to climb in the trees and hunt well in the undergrowth. Agility and intelligence are valued above strength, as both are necessary to be able to hunt and hide from predators in the forest. Being close-quarters to the twolegplace, kittypets and alley cats are common sights near the territory, and over time MorningClan cats have learned how to deal with them in non-violent ways- after all, constant combat is both dangerous and tiring. It's not uncommon for cats born outside the Clan to ultimately decide to join with MorningClan, and MorningClan welcomes any cats who are loving and loyal.
In appearance, MorningClan cats tend to be fairly small, with short and sleek fur and lithe bodies. They are muscular, but their muscle is lean, meant for climbing and running rather than bursts of brute strength. They tend to have large ears for hearing prey and long tails for balancing in the trees. Their claws, while not unusually long are curved and wickedly sharp, helping them to easier claw the bark of trees when climbing, and their paws are proportionally large for finding better grip. Of cats born into the Clan, the most common pattern is spotted tabby on a brown or light ginger pelt, and the most common eye color is green. However, cats of MorningClan, due to their bloodlines which are nearly all mixed with outside blood, can really be any color or shape. Cats who were born outside the Clan, of course, may or may not have any "traditional" MorningClan traits.

Rules
❧ Follow all forum rules, as always.
❧ No flaming, trolling, spotlighting, powerplaying, godmodding, etc.
❧ No mary sues/"perfect"characters. Your character is almost never going to be the absolute best in the land at anything. Being very good at some things (not everything), however, is entirely acceptable. Your character will be bad at some things. They will have some flaws. They will lose sometimes. Similarly, though, please don't make your character so awful that they have no good aspects and are mopey and depressed and annoyingly flawed. Give them some space to develop and improve, but also let them develop and improve.
❧ As always, keep things pg. So, no excessively graphic violence, language, or other inappropriateness. If you desire any of these things please take it to PM where it is legally out of my control.
❧ Please try to be literate and original. Make your characters and their actions unique and meaningful rather than making them from a cookie cutter with nothing personal going for them. Contribute to the plot and roleplay in a meaningful way that is enjoyable for everyone. Use good grammar, spelling, etc. At the same time, please don't write a novel every post. If you try to make things too long and complicated it gets boring and tedious. Find that comfortable middle where it's entertaining for you to write and entertaining for us to read.
❧ Please keep characters realistic in appearance. Obviously things don't have to be 100% realistic- there are plenty of tortoiseshell toms, and somewhat unrealistic pattern combinations exist, such as gray and black spotted❧ but keep the cats believable. So no purple eyes, blue stripes, or perfect star-shaped marking on their forehead.
❧ If you are gone for more than two weeks without prior warning, you will be suspended and your characters moved to the "inactive" slot. If you are gone for two weeks after this, your characters will be entirely removed. If you have any ranks- such as a leader, deputy, or medicine cat- then that character will be available for other people to claim, or (in some cases) the character may be killed off entirely.
❧ I reserve the right to reject or remove people who are not literate enough, who do not contribute well to the roleplay, who are not active, who do not keep in the spirit of the roleplay, or who do not adequately follow the above rules.
The Warrior Code
❧ Defend your Clan, even with your life. You may have friendships with cats from the other Clans, but your loyalty must remain to your Clan, as one day you may meet them in battle.
❧ Do not hunt or trespass on another Clan's territory.
❧ Elders and kits must be fed before apprentices and warriors. Unless they have permission, apprentices may not eat until they have hunted to feed the elders.
❧ Prey is killed only to be eaten. Give thanks to StarClan for its life.
❧ A kit must be at least six moons old to become an apprentice.
❧ Newly appointed warriors will keep a silent vigil for one night after receiving their warrior name.
❧ A cat cannot be made deputy without having mentored at least one apprentice.
❧ The deputy will become Clan leader when the leader dies or retires.
❧ After the death or retirement of the deputy, the new deputy must be chosen before moonhigh.
❧ A gathering of all four Clans is held at the full moon during a truce that lasts for the night. There shall be no fighting among Clans at this time.
❧ Boundaries must be checked and marked daily. Challenge all trespassing cats.
❧ No warrior may neglect a kit in pain or in danger, even if that kit is from a different Clan.
❧ The word of the Clan leader is the warrior code.
❧ An honorable warrior does not need to kill other cats to win his battles, unless they are outside the warrior code or it is necessary for self-defense.
❧ A warrior rejects the soft life of a kittypet.
❧ Each Clan has the right to be proud and independent, but in times of trouble they must forget their boundaries and fight side by side to protect the four. Each Clan must help the others so that no Clan will fall.
