"I mean you look good I'll give you that." The words slipped from her without even running through a filter,
but if they had well Kalahni never would have said that. The girls eye's widened, there was a small silence before she laughed loudly and began to walk a little faster. "But l-looks aren't what make you cool. It's what you can DO." She said when she rangled back a little bit of confidence. They had approached Route 1, and Kalahni was headed striaght for the grass.
Now normally she wasn't one to... do radical stuff like this, but she felt like she wanted to make sure Akai didn't get too big in confidence, so she'd prove to be just as 'cool.' Besides, she always wanted to test her Rowlet in battle anyway...
She took a few steps into the tall grass that was up to her thighs. She looked down, feeling her skin crawl as she could see things moving around, but couldn't make out what they were. Poppy retracted into his neck fat, going into full, protective circle mode as his feathers shivered timidly. Keleki looked back at her, Claw's Starly perched on his head.

(Well you might be able to start with Hades, but he can't be like your starter, but you could probably still have him in your party as like a gift from your character's parents.)

(But yeah you need one for 7 gens of starters too. Gift pokemon are okay but Noble asks for all of use to have real starters

Akai crossed his arms across his chest and raised an eyebrow. So she saw how amazing he was, but doubted his battle ability. Well, he guessed that was to be expected of someone who had never seen him fight "Have you ever been in a battle?" he asked, dropping the subject. He could get really heated about it if he wanted to. And right now wasn't the time.

"Well duh," Kalahni snorted. It was a lie, clearly, as could be apparent by the way she tripped over a twig and almost fell on her face. Instead of that however she stumbled into a rather irate looking Pidgey. "Pidgeeeee!" It cried,
ruffling out it's feathers and glaring their huge eyebrows at Kalahni. It took to the sky, creating a small gust of wind as it began to circle her. Kalahni began to quickly back up to try to flee, but her eyes were locked on the Pidgey as it let out another cry. The trees shuffled, then a storm of Pidgeys poured out from the branches. The skies became a lit with the sounds of their cries.
"SIS WHAT THE HELL!" Keleki yelled, bringing his Torchic close to his chest as some of the Pidgeys began to dive down at them.
This was going to be bad...

Akais eyes widened as the Pidgeys flocked them. His Rowlet didn't have the moves to take these down. Not with their numbers. He pulled out another Pokeball and tossed it into the air "Banette, use Will o Wisp!" he would rather take time to train his Rowlet, but this would have to do. In a flash his Pokemon appeared and Akai caught the Pokeball as it came down. The ghost pokemon surrounded them with small flames and they shot out in all directions. He followed by having his Rowlet use razor leaf.

"Pi!" Several of the small grass-land birds flinched when the ghostly wisp of fire landed into them. The blue,
ghostly flame surrounded them, afflicting all that were hit with a nasty burn. Some of the birds retreated with smoke teails left behind them, but a majority stayed. Those that weren't hit took revenge for their friends. The head-bird chirped out an angry order, a swarm of pidgeys diving down and holding their talons out before them, scratching at the Banette, kicking up sand in their eyes and delivering pecks. "Pidgeeeeey!" They growled. Kalahni dropped to the ground, protecting her Rowlet with her hunched over body. A couple of the bird-pokemon had swooped down at her, tearing at the clothes on her back.

"That's the head bird." Akai noted, calmly side stepping a peck attack. He looked to his Rowlet and pointed at it "Use tackle." in a flash of blue the small bird shot towards it. When some birds tried to block his attack Akai turned to his Banette "Use Shadow Claw and clear a path." the ghost pokemon nodded and moved surprisingly quickly towards them, slamming them with a black claw. "Come on guys, there's plenty of Exp to go around. No point protecting the pokemon when they can train and fight." he glanced to the newer trainers, they should be taking a chance like this, not hiding from it. Plenty of these weaklings looked low level.

"Uh O-Okay" John said, "Starly use Um. Quick Attack. Litten use Ember please?" John said though his command to Litten sounded like a question. Starly sprang off of Keliki's head using the move to attack a pidgey. Ignoring John Litten went over to Akai purring and rubbing against his leg.

Kalahni looked up from the feathers settling around her to see Akai so calmly and collectedly giving order to his Pokemon. She flinched again when a bird ducked down at her, hitting the side of her head with a claw. Participate!
Was he crazy? Yet, slowly but surely the Banette and the Rowlet were cutting through the defensive line keeping their leader back. She had never even seen a Pokemon like that before... Kalahni slowly pushed to her feet, hugging Poppy close to her. She saw Keleki quickly jumping at the opportunity now that the tides had turned. He barked out an order to his Torchic,
pointing at the flurry of birds. Kalahni blinked in amazement, her own bird not moving, staying happily put in her arms.
"Pipi!" The swarm began to retreat a little more, leaving the head bird vulnerable to Rowlet's tackle. "PIII..." It suddenly let out a loud cry, pulling back after the hit and escaping with the rest of the birds. It seemed like things were taken care of!
"Wow! Akai that was amazing!" Kalahni had stars in her eyes. "I've never seen Pokemon work together like that so smoothly!
You must have.. really trained for a l-" Rustle... Rustle..! The branches parted, twigs snapping. It sounded like something bigger than before was coming.
"PIDGEOOOO!" A large bird took to the skies, the shadow of it's wings beneath them as it soared overhead, blocking the sun. "What is that thing?!" Kalahni cried.

Rowlet came back and took a stance in front of Akai, Banette pulled back and stood in front of him as well. He glanced down at the Litten and raised an eyebrow "Why hello there." he was tempted to bend down and pet the little guy but was distracted by the rustling. Looking over to the newer trainers he suggested "Your Pokedexes?" if it was just one he could take care of it, but they needed battle experience way more than he did right now. It looked like Rowlet had taken some damage even while it was defended by Banette. Banette on the other hand looked down right pleased. It loved to battle.

This Pokémon flies around, patrolling its living space. If its territory is violated, it shows no mercy in thoroughly punishing the foe with its sharp claws." Kalahni gulped.
"Pidgeooo!" The birds keen eyees locked onto it's target. It whirled through the air, dive bombing with astounding speed,
talons outstretched for the Starly, easy prey, it thought.

Akai watched them, ready to jump in. It was strange to see an evolution on route one and so close to the town. Maybe there was a reason why it was so close. Interesting. He glanced at John, a stunned sort of look on his face. It had worked, but that must've hurt. Banette shifted uncomfortably and glared at the Pidgeotto "Now now, let the newbies have their chance. You can't take all the battles."

The pidgeotto's eyes darted as his prey quickly dashed off, held in the tight arms of a boy. It glared, slowing down just enough to not crash into the earth. It raised it's large wings, slowing it's velocity until it hovered there in the air. "Pidgeooo!" It cried, wings kicking up a large gale of wind, a small tornado that swept across the ground, collecting dirt in it as it hurled at the trainers.

Akai plucked his Rowlet out of the air as it started to get drawn into the small vortex coming towards them. He glanced pointedly at the newbies one at a time, they had do get going or he would jump in himself.

The Pidgetto far outweighed the Litten in terms of attack, it hardly flinched at their attacks, sending them a hard glare and batting them away with a harsh wind-attack. "Pidgeoo!" It howled again. Keleki put his arm in front of his face to keep the sand from his yes. He peered across at his sister, then at Claw, and grabbed onto both of their hands, giving a squeeze to get their attention. "There's no way we'll win alone! We need to have all our Pokemon fight together!" He holed above the wind, that was quickly picking up and making another small tornado of gust.
Kalahni looked at him with round, wide eyes full of fear. Her Rowlet could never handle a fight against that thing!!! There was just no way, he could hardly take on a caterpie! "Are you crazy?!" She was so protective of her little bird that she hugged him closer, tears starting to form in her eyes. "He'll get hurt!"
"Sis, it'll be okay..." He turned his gaze on her, and his brown eyes were so steeled with resolve, that she could almost melt in them. She believed him... Even though it seemed crazy. But that look told her he wouldn't let her down... Slowly,
Kalahni nodded. "O-...Okay..."
He looked next to Peter with the same determination.

Akai placed a hand on Banettes head as it tried to move forewards again. It huffed but finally seemed to relax. They were planning something. It was like a boss fight in a rpg, he laughed mentally. Rowlet gripped his shoulder with its talons, tucking in it's wings so it didn't catch any wind.
