And who are you, the proud lord said,
that I must bow so low?
Only a cat of a different coat,
that's all the truth I know.
In a coat of gold or a coat of red,
a lion still has claws,
And mine are long and sharp, my lord,
as long and sharp as yours.
And so he spoke, and so he spoke,
that Lord of Castamere,
But now the rains weep o'er his hall,
with no one there to hear.
Yes now the rains weep o'er his hall,
and not a soul to hear.
- The Rains of Castamere, because of all the feelings.

Firstly, welcome to the Seven Kingdoms of Westeros! Secondly, yes, this is a Game of Thrones/Song of Fire and Ice based role-play, but I encourage those who haven't watched or read it to check this out anyway, because it's 100% not necessary to know all the canon stuff. All you need is information about the world that the role-play is set in, which I've done my very best to compile here. <3
Differences from the series?
It is important to note that this role-play is not necessarily canon compliant, and therefore it's more than fine for people who haven't read or seen anything Game of Thrones related. This role-play is set in Westeros, and complies to the main timeline, though it implements original characters, plots, and is best to be seen as an alternative universe to some extent. It takes place around about halfway through the Targaryen reign of Westeros, for those who know what I'm talking about, but none of the characters or events are going to match up with that timeframe. None of the canon characters besides the historical figures, such as Aerys the Conquerer and Lann the Clever actually exist, as this is all original from hereon out. Does that make sense? It's honestly just the basic set-up of Westeros, and the customs and traditions and goings-on around the time of the Targaryen reign, without necessarily being canon compliant with any characters or events.
There are also a few other changes from the Westerosi universe.
- Firstly, a lot of the seriously gnarly stuff has been cut out of the history, because while we have a little more freedom on these forums, there's no way we're disrespecting the logical rules that Tomorrow's Hero and their helpers have put in place. Game of Thrones is so full-on, as far as violence and sex and language goes, and we don't want to push it farther than what is necessary.
- And also, minor little thing here, the Targaryen habit of 'keeping the bloodline pure'? That's gone. Taboo can be cool, when used right, but yeah, I want to stay away from it before we cross boundaries.
Love, Hannibal. <3
