Heyo, this is just a place where I can keep track of all the fanfics I've written and posted here, and the fanfics written by others that I'm currently reading. And also just various notes and scraps related to writing, I guess.
A nicer layout will be coming at some point, when I'm motivated, haha. :3
Feel free to drop in and chat about writing and fanfics in general!
IT'S ALMOST SPRING BREAK!

MY WRITING TIPS Don't know if these will be helpful to you or not; this is what works for me, and I figured I might as well share this in case it helps other folks. I will add stuff whenever I have time to do a little write-up.
Have a character reference sheet, not just allegiances. This way, you can keep track of more appearance details, personality, skills, and random facts about the characters. It helps you be more consistent with details, and while some people may not notice that you said Goldenclaw has dark green eyes in one chapter and pale green eyes in another, if you can keep things like that straight, the people who do notice will be impressed, and I personally find it satisfying to know that my characters are consistent.
Listen to music while writing. Not just whatever your favorite flavor of pop is (and believe me, I listen to a lot of oldies and stuff from musicals), but simply instrumental music can be a great help. Classical music and movie scores are my favorite things to listen to while writing, as well as the electronic music by Ray Lynch and Adam Young. Lyrics can sometimes be distracting, and so it's nice to just have some relaxing background music that you can sink your mind into but still focus on your writing.
Write when you're tired, as long you don't have to wake up early the next day. No, I don't mean that you should do this all the time, because I know that I am more productive when I am wide awake (and good sleeping habits are far more important than writing, okay?). Rather, writing when you're sleepy can sometimes dredge up interesting things that you didn't know were in your brain. You may end up with garbage, or you may end up with something that has a totally different (but not unpleasant) feeling to it. I wrote some of my favorite one-shots late at night, and you may find that happening to you (I've also written some of my clunkiest fanfic chapters at night, though). TL;DR don't stay up late writing all the time, but you should try it sometime when you can sleep in, and you might just find yourself surprised by the results.

Bumping again. I'm thinking about trying to write some more one-shots, so we'll see. At any rate I do plan to make this thread look a little prettier soon!

I need to read your fan-fics. The plots for both (well, the one sentence summaries) sound really unique. :'O

Nice! Do you have any favorite composers, or just style of music in general?

I love a bunch of different music, tbh. c'x I can't pick just one. And I like all different styles: I have some calm and gentle instrumental music, some that's energetic and upbeat, some that's beautiful and emotional, and some that's super powerful/intense, and I like orchestral stuff, piano stuff, electronic stuff... I like all of it. cx What about you? (and If you ever want any suggestions for new instrumental music to listen to, whether it's just in general or of a certain style/emotion, I could probably help you out. xD)

Piano music is always so relaxing, I love it. But really, I find most classical music enjoyable except for some of the more modern stuff that sometimes sounds kind of weird; modern film scores are usually pretty good though! I stream from one classical radio station a lot. As far as more electronic/instrumental music goes, I absolutely love Ray Lynch's music; it's so soothing.
I'm open to suggestions! What would you recommend for some calm, relaxing music? Besides writing, music is always so nice for stress relief.

Sure, I'll add it to my reading list. Your fic looks like it has a really interesting concept! Yeah... It was born because I read the Kane Chronicles and now I'm trying to incorporate warriors into Egyptian Mythology.

Ok, I bookmarked this because you got me hooked on The Fox and the Pigeon. DO YOU HAVE ANY IDEA HOW MUCH I CAN RELATE TO PIGEONSTAR?!! Ahhhh, I'm in love. She's a great character. She feels very real and I can tell you put some great though behind her. Love it so far.
Oh
And Spottedtail makes me wanna pull my hair out.
Just sayin. x'D
Plus, your story "I am a Rock" got some nominations at the fan-fic awards, and now I'm very eager to start that ASAP.
