Stonestreak had just returned from a hunting trip on her own, and was quite pleased with her find. She had managed to get a plump squirrel, along with a vole. It was a good day in her book, and she was in a good mood. The shecat paid no attention to where she was going and felt herself get knocked back, she had ran straight into another cat. Stonestreak opened her mouth to scold them for getting in her way before realizing it was Oakstar. "Im so sorry Oakstar!" She exclaimed. She was a younger cat, made a warrior only moons before.

"Good, thanks" The tom meowed and settled down to eat his squirrel, "I was just about to go hunting for a little bit after this wan to come?" Brackengaze asked cheerfully.

Stonestreak breathed a sigh of relief, she had assumed she would get a scolding. At his compliments her pelt grew hot with embarrassment, it wasnt every day you got complemented by the clan leader! "Thank you Oakstar! I planned to take them to the elders right away, at least that was my destination before I ran into you." She gave a small mrrow of laughter. For a moment she felt like a mouse brain, she hadn't offered him any of the prey. "Would you like one of these? I could go hunting once more for the elders if you'd like." The shecat didnt realize how much she sounded like an apprentice, and she was still uses to taking orders from other cats.

"I just finished eating," Oakstar shook his head politely. "But thank you anyways, the squirrel looks so fat and juicy. Greycloud's kits would enjoy to try some of it." He purred. "Redfire was just taking out a hunting patrol, but if you want to go back out into the forest would you mind leading a border patrol?" He knew it would be the first time she would lead a patrol and was interested to see her reaction.

Stonestreak nodded to his comment, and was going to go drop the squirrel off at the nursery. The she cat's eyes went wide as he asked her to lead a patrol. "Lead a patrol? I..I Of course! Yes I will Oakstar thank you!" She exclaimed. It probably wasnt something to get too excited about, but first time for everything. "Anycat specific that I should take?" Stonestreak normally messed around, and didnt accomplish her responsibilities, but now she was determined to do everything right.

Oakstar cast a quick glance around camp to see who was awake and moving around. "Take.... Wildsky, Loonfeather (If she wasn't on Redfire's hunting patrol) and one of the apprentices." He told her. "Go by the West border, I thought I caught a few rogue scents near the border a few days ago and want to make sure they aren't crossing over into our territory." With that he turned and walked away, confident she would be just fine with the more experienced warriors joining her on the patrol.

"Of course." Stonestreak nodded. "Im going to take the squirrel to the queens." She added, just so she didnt seem irresponsible with the prey she had just caught. Not waiting to be dismissed, she picked up the squirrel and ran over to the nursery. Noticing the kits were sleeping, she silently laid the squirrel down, not wanting to wake them.
As she padded back out of the nursery Stonestreak let out a breath she hadn't realized she had been holding. Oakstar allowed her to lead a patrol! Not wanting to mess anything up, she swiftly poked her head into the warriors den, calling for Wildsky. Noticing Loonfeather walking out she quickly meowed "We're going on patrol with Wildsky, could you grab an apprentice to go with us as well?"

Brackengaze snorted, "You may find some herbs while your out. Maybe that'll be useful" the tom frowned then turned towards the entrance.

"shure, i can see if pouncepaw can go," Loonfeather meowed, and padded off towrads the apprentices den.

" ok!" Loonfeather called behind her. She looked inside the apprentices den," Pouncepaw?" she meowed, wondering where her apprentice was,she hadn't taken her out in a while,maybe we can also do some battle training after the patural,she thought to herself.
