ღ Introduction ღ
Paws treaded the rough ground delicately, as if the gravel was about to crack and swallow whatever stepped upon it. The owners of the different sets of paws were all different - some, strays, knew this place so well that they could follow their nose anywhere to a desired destination. Others wore the mark of humans around their necks, and a tag that rang out, frightening away possible prey. These such dogs walked with uncertainty, unsure of what to do due to having such a reliance on the species that had ultimately betrayed them in the end. And then came the dogs who bounded through the ghost town without a care in the whole world - a joyous sense of freedom coursed through their veins. These were the canines that had been trapped, used and harmed by the humans that had finally, thankfully, deserted them.
Although they were different, these dogs would have to learn to be somewhat the same. In such a world, a world where any of them could catch the bug and die within hours, they must group together and find a safe haven not ridden with disease. They must find another life and a fresh start somewhere in the world.
ღ About the roleplay ღThis roleplay is set in a town in the middle of nowhere that has recently been abandoned by humans. The desertion was due to a disease spreading through the town that was carried by rats, which tended to attack unsuspecting canines. As a result, the disease would take such a hold on the dog, making it sick and unable to move within hours - and then kill it. Unfortunately for the humans, this disease could spread from a canine to their master, and it was no longer safe for them to live there. So, unaware of the fact that it was the rats, not the dogs, that carried the disease, humans abandoned the town and left those of the canine species to fend for themselves.
Now, left to fend for themselves, the dogs must find a safe haven in order to survive.
ღ Types of dog ღCompanion dogs: These are the dogs that once lived with a human, before they were deserted. Many of them formed a close bond with their master, and feel a great sense of betrayal. These dogs are those dogs often unable to fend for themselves well, and are new to street life. When the humans still remained with them, they were often mocked by other dogs.
Stray dogs: These dogs are those who live on the streets instead of inside a place built by humans. Most of them were born on the streets, but some are abandoned dogs or dogs escaped from the control of humans. Many of these dogs are lone dogs, but there are also those that form small, informal packs in order for them to have a higher chance of survival.
Pound dogs: These dogs are those that were kept within cages inside the dog pound. The dog pound was in bad condition and the dogs that lived there were not treated well. Most do not trust humans, but those that were taken there after having lived with a kind human still trust them.
Labatory dogs: These are the canines that were born within the walls of the town labatory. Most of them have never seen the outside world before in their entire lives. These dogs have suffered extreme cruelty from humans and almost all of them distrust humans. Like companion dogs, they are not streetwise.

ღ Setting ღ
The roleplay is set in a town in the middle of nowhere, that has been completely deserted by all human life. Key features of the area include:
The Square: In the centre of the town lies The Square. It is an area surrounded by cafes and restaurants, and once attracted any few tourists that visited the town. In the centre of The Square is a statue of a human in the middle of a circular pond.
The Supermarket: The Supermarket is a great food source for those stronger dogs that are able to claim it. It provides shelter, water and food, so the few dogs that keep it as their territory are often very protective of it.
The Butchers: Like The Supermarket, The Butchers is also owned by only the most powerful, territorial dogs, as it contains meat which can sustain a canine for a long time. The place is located down a dark alleyway.
The Park: Nearby The Square, The Park lies. This was once a haven for Companion Dogs and their masters alike. It is a wide, open field dotted with flowerbeds and benches, and towards the entrance is a little pond.
The Train Station: Also located fairly near The Squre, is The Train Station. Now not in use, the lights have completely died and the place offers an extremely eerie atmosphere. Most dogs don't venture near the creepy place.
The Farm: The Farm isn't technically located inside the town, but on the outskirts of it. There are a few wide, open fields and an old barn, accompanied by a large farm house. Due to the fact that the farm animals have now died, it is quite a frightening place that many dogs tell creepy tales of.
ღ Hierachy ღAt the beginning of the roleplay, the Hierachy will not yet have been established. When it has, however, it will go in this order:
Alpha: The Alpha is the overall leader of the pack and makes all important decisions, as well as keeping control and order. Usually the Alpha is one of the most powerful dogs within the pack.
Betas: There are two Betas in the pack. The Betas are second-in-command of the Alpha and take control if he or she is not present for any apparent reason. They have the power to control patrols or hunts and can tell off any dog of a lower ranking at any time. Betas can also challenge the Alpha at any time.
Deltas: Deltas are dogs who, as well as hunting and patrolling, are allowed to fight, as they are deemed able enough to do so. A Delta can challenge a Beta at any time with the Alpha's permission.
Gammas: Gammas are dogs who can do all that a Delta can, but are not a high enough ranking to be allowed to fight and protect their pack in such a way. A Gamma can challenge a Delta at any time with the Alpha's permission.
Adolescents: The Adolescents are all dogs aged between six and twelve months. Once a dog reaches six months old, they leave their Mothers side and begin to join the pack properly. During this stage in their lives they begin to accompany their parents or other dogs on patrols and hunts and learn the ways of the pack. Once Adolescents reach twelve months of age, they are usually made Gammas. However, sometimes an Alpha may decide an Adolescent needs to be an Omega, or in rare circumstances, a Delta.
Mothers: Mothers are the dogs that are currently pregnant with or nursing puppies under six months old. A Mother is never a permanent rank, and female dogs are not allowed to remain under the rank unless they are pregnant at the time or nursing puppies at the time.
Seniors: The Seniors are those dogs that are too old to carry out ordinary pack life anymore. The Alpha must decide when a dog is ready to become a Senior, and a Senior may not make this decision himself or herself. They can, however, ask the Alpha for permission to join the rank.
Puppies: Puppies are all dogs under six months old.
Omegas: The Omegas are the dogs of the lowest rank within the pack. Either the Alpha decides if a dog is to become an Omega, or the dog has constantly won fights when being challenged for their current rank and has ended up as an Omega. Omegas are not allowed to fight or patrol, and are not allowed to hunt unless there is a shortage of dogs after large prey. Their main jobs are to watch puppies when their Mothers are away and clean the dens of others. Omegas are not usually treated with much respect at all and their thoughts towards the pack are not usually taken into consideration. Omegas can challenge a Gamma at any time with the Alpha's permission.

ღ Pack rules ღ
1) Food is eaten in a specific order and if a dog eats before their turn then they do not get to eat the next day: Alpha Betas Mothers Elders Deltas Gammas Omegas
2) Female Omegas are not allowed to have puppies and male Omegas are not allowed to father puppies, due to the fact that they are an Omega for a reason and the puppies would not be a good enough quality for the pack.
3) Dogs may not challenge the Alpha's or Betas decisions, or the consequences could be that their rank is lowered to Omega, banishment, or worse, death.
4) Violent fights are not allowed to break out unless it is a challenge for a particular rank.
5) Dogs are not allowed to venture out of the territory without the Alpha's or a Beta's permission, and are not allowed to meet with dogs not within the pack without Alpha's or the Beta's permission.
6) Dogs must not call the Alpha by their first name, and must refer to him or her as 'Alpha.'
7) Dogs may not wear a collar or any item that indicates human companionship once they have joined the pack. They may not seek humans and their loyalty must be to their pack only.
8) If a dog catches the disease, they must be left behind. It is the only time dogs are allowed to leave another behind, as the disease guarantees death and it is contagious. At any other times dogs never leave another behind.
ღ Pack Rituals ღ1) Challenging a rank;; A Beta may challenge the Alpha at any time if they wish to become an Alpha. Any other rank may only challenge the rank above them with the Alpha's permission. A dog can only challenge the rank above them, not a higher one, and must work their way up. The dog chooses the dog they wish to challenge and the Alpha judges the fight. The fights can get extremely violent and do not stop until one dog is fully on the ground or submits to his or her opponent. If the Alpha dies for any particular reason, the two Betas fight for leadership unless one does not want it, and the same rules apply.
2) The Great Howl;; The Great Howl takes place as soon as the moon shows. All dogs (except for very young puppies or extremely sick dogs) are expected to take part in the event. The howl is stated by the Alpha, then joined by the Betas, then the Deltas, then Gammas, then Mothers and puppies, then Elders and the Omegas and continues until the moon is hidden by the clouds or the Alpha brings it to a halt.
3) Food;; Formal hunting patrols are sent out at dawn, midday and dusk and dogs are expected to bring back something to eat, even if it is little. They may not return unless one dog has at least found something. Informal hunting patrols can happen at any time of the day, and if a dog is at least a Gamma they may leave to hunt within the territory at any time.
4) Deaths;; When a dog within the pack dies, regardless of rank, they are buried and each member of the pack must bring them something to rest upon their grave. A feast occurs in the evening and the great howl happens whether or not the moon is out.
5) Births;; When puppies are born, each dog must lick each puppy on the head in welcoming to the pack. Usually the Alpha gives the Mother a gift of thanks for bringing new life to the pack.

1) Respect ;; its a really simple and easy thing to do so just respect and be kind to any other people in this roleplay. I won't hesitate to ask you to leave if you pick fights, irritate people etc. If you don't share the same opinion as someone, then don't argue about it.2) Literacy ;; One-liners won't be tolerated here, I'm afraid. If you join I expect well-thought-out writing with correct punctuation and grammar. No, I'm not asking you to type out three chunky paragraphs per character, but I'd like at least one decent sized paragraph per character, please. 3) Don't join with too many characters ;; If you can make 20 characters and roleplay them out equally then cool, I couldn't care less if you joined with 20. But most people can't do that. So please join with as many as you can keep track of.4) Don't join with just one gender/breed of dog ;; Or too many of one gender or breed. I'd like a fairly equal gender ratio and it's more interesting to have different breeds. Mixed-breed dogs are of course allowed! However, please do not join with a wolf or a wolf hybrid. 5) No Mary Sues/Gary stus/spotlighting ;; Mary Sues and Gary Stus are 'perfect characters.' Your character/s must always have flaws. Likewise, please don't make your character/s too flawed, either. Also, please don't spotlight your character. Other people need to get involved, too!6) Plots must be discussed first ;; Don't just jump in and make up your own plot. Whether it is a huge plot that impacts everyone or just a small one that impacts a couple of people in the roleplay, you must always discuss it with others first! 7) Keep things PG ;; that includes violence and romance. I won't tolerate anything over PG. 8) Have fun! ;; Don't forget to enjoy yourself here! Roleplays are for fun! I didn't put too many rules because they can be overwhelming and pretty much every roleplay says the same things anyway.
ღ Plots ღ1) A disease has spread throughout the town, causing all humans to leave. Whenever a dog catches it, they are guaranteed death. The dogs must join together and find a new safe haven. Bullet calls all currently healthy dogs together and forms a pack.
2) Bullet catches the disease and dies. A new Alpha must rise and lead the pack away safely.

ღ Characters ღ
Alpha (1) ;;
|| Bullet || || 7 years || German Shepherd Dog || Male || Stray || N/A || || As a young puppy, Bullet grew up under his Mother's wing in a human home and was adopted. However, his companion dog life was short-lived and when Bullet was a year old, his master died and he was taken to the pound. He lived there for a couple of months before escaping when he was due to be euthanised and has lived on the streets ever since. || || Bullet is a very large dog. He has the traditional German Shepherd Dog markings - Black and Tan. His eyes are fairly small and of a medium brown colour, and his coat is fairly thick. || || Bullet is the type of dog who cares deeply for his pack. He doesn't like to share his past with other dogs within the pack, but will share tactics and his thoughts. He often comes off as the kind of dog that despises humans, and no other dogs within the pack know of his Companion Dog past. Bullet would be extremely ashamed if they were to know of it. || || CԾᏕოᎥ꒝ DuᏕϮ ||
Betas (2) ;;
Deltas ;;
|| Pandora || || 3 years || Labrador/Border Collie mix || Female || Companion Dog || N/A || || Pandora was the sort of dog that was moved between homes a lot before she was finally adopted permanently by a young couple. This was due to the fact that she was aggressive towards other dogs and children. She grew to love her final owners dearly, and felt a great sense of betrayal when they left her, causing her to experience periods of low mood. || || Pandora is a medium to large dog. Her coat is smooth and jet black, apart from her white chest and backs of her front legs. Her eyes are dark brown. || || Pandora isn't the kindest towards other canines. In her Companion Dog life, she would try to see off any other dog she came across, as well as children and other animals. She sticks with the pack mainly for survival, but grows to like some of the dogs within it as time goes on. She isn't the easiest to communicate with. || || CԾᏕოᎥ꒝ DuᏕϮ ||
Gammas ;;
Adolescents ;;
|| Butterfly || || 9 months || Staffie || Female || Lab Dog || Due to her labatory dog days, she often sees things that aren't there and also has a nicked right ear. || || Butterfly and her deceased brother were thrown into the labatory as tiny puppies and tested on. She had never seen the outside world until the humans abandoned the town and they were brave enough to escape. Her brother, however, caught the disease and died. || || Butterfly is quite tall for a Staffie, but has the same stockiness. She is completely white except for a black patch over her left eye and a black right ear. Her eyes are a very dark brown, almost black. || || Butterfly is quite a shy individual. The only dog she ever interacted with was her beloved brother, so finds it difficult to communicate with other dogs. She is, however, still a pup, despite her grown-up attitude towards life to survive, and is often seen snapping at insects and playing. || || CԾᏕოᎥ꒝ DuᏕϮ ||
Mothers ;;
Puppies ;;
Seniors ;;
Omegas ;;
|| Amigo || || 4 years || Chihuahua || Male || Pound Dog || N/A || || Amigo was given to a small girl as a puppy but when the family realised how much work a dog is he was thrown in the pound and lived there for four years without being euthanised. || || Amigo is a smooth-coated chihuahua. He is dark brown with pale brown markings on his chest, eyebrows, muzzle, throat, thighs and paws. His eyes are fairly round and dark brown. || || Amigo is quite a wimpy dog. He does not like to get involved with other dogs as he is afraid of being attacked. Due to his size and lack of knowledge of the outside world, it is highly likely that he will never rise above the omega rank. Once a dog gets to know Amigo, he is actually quite friendly and a has a bright personality. || || CԾᏕოᎥ꒝ DuᏕϮ ||

|| Terry || || 4 years || Border Collie || Female || Stray Dog || N/A || || Born on a farm owned by a well known breeder, Terry was adopted quickly by a young couple whom she loved dearly. But after only two years of living in happiness with them, something seemed to be troubling the couple, and she was dumped at the pound. Terry felt deeply betrayed by her previous owners, and it led her to believe that all humans were like that, so as soon as she was adopted again she made her move and escaped, running through and accidentally left open front door. Since then, she has used her quickness, agility, and wits to survive on her own. || Terry posses the classic black-and-white Border Colliie coat and markings. She is slightly larger then the average Border Collie, with deep brown eyes and ears that are half straight up, and half flopped over. || || Terry is a friendly dog, and really cares about the pack. She is protective and likes meeting new dogs. Due to her past, she is extremely untrusting of people. ||

|| Dingo || || 5 years || Mutt || Male || Stray || Can he please have Beta or Delta? Preferably Beta. || || Dingo was born on the streets; his mother was a stray and he only met his father once. When he was a "lone-wolf" he was feared by other strays and given a wide berth, which he later realised was due to the actions of his father, who was a cruel and vicious dog. When the disease spread, Dingo was glad to be rid of the humans that constantly tried to capture and, possibly, kill him. || ||Dingo is a medium sized dog, smaller than Bullet and around the same height as a border collie. He is quite broad-shouldered and has large paws, which he often trips himself up with. He is a yellow-orange furred mutt with white paws, underbelly, muzzle and tail-tip. He has leaf-green eyes and short, rough fur that tends to shed very easily.|| || Dingo is overly-friendly, a result of him trying to make up for his father's actions. He is very defensive of his pack and territory, and will fight if threatened. || || EthanTheAnnus ||
