"I just hope Emberstar and Tanglepath see things my way..." Wolfpaw muttered, ear flicking uncertainly. He was reassured to know other cats shared his opinion.

"I wouldn't be too sure. After all, Emberstar and Skyflower are very close. But, I can vouch for you, Wolfpaw, and I'd like to see those youngsters try and punish me for it." Sootflame assured to Wolfpaw, his voice gruff and deep.

Wolfpaw frowned, a bit unsure about that. Elders had a reputation of having rocks in their head from being so old. He just hoped Sootflame's word would be taken seriously. "Thank you Sootflame," he said, dipping his head.

"Of course, kit. I know good Sunclan Warrior material when I see it. Heck, I watched Sunstar name the first warriors. Aw, boy do I miss him, and Moonfrost. Those were grand times. You have heart, Wolfpaw. I can tell just by lookin' at you." Sootflame slowly drew himself back to lay down, his age making even that a slow process.
"This old tom's seen enough to know what I speak of."

Wolfpaw managed a smile. It felt good to be renowned as "warrior material", especially by someone as senior as Sootflame. He hoped that he could live up to the praise in due time... "Well I might as well make myself useful. Do you want something to eat? I'm starving," he offered.

"Hmm. Bring over a Squirrel for us and I can tell you some stories." Sootflame offered, finding the company of the rambunctious tom to be rather enjoyable. Wolfpaw reminded him of some of his own kits. And while most were gone in the stars, it was still nice to see that personality out and about.

Wolfpaw nodded, padding over to the fresh kill. The pile was growing smaller and smaller each day, and there were no squirrels to be seen. He instead plucked a thrush that looked slightly bigger than the others, and returned to Sootflame. "This was the biggest kill I could find..." he meowed, setting the bird at his elder's paws. "You have your fill first. It's the code."

"Good head on your shoulders." Sootflame nodded, appreciating Wolfpaw's loyalty to the code. He took a bite, not bothered that it was a thrush instead of a squirrel, and passed it to Wolfpaw, mewing to him. "Back when I was a warrior, I fought like a queen out of the nursery. I was rough and tumble, but Starclan above, it was needed. I mean, there were rouges and Moonclan warriors and all that."

Leafblaze gave a nod of agreement. Looking at Skunkstripe, she asked. "Care to go hunting? We'll need the prey." Rustlepaw gave a light grin, her cloudy eyes looking upwards as she gave a featherlight laugh. "Thanks, Lynxpaw. That means alot. I want to be the best I can be. The best blind warrior the clans have ever known!" Skunkstripe purred, standing up from her spot. "I'd love to, my friend," her emerald green eyes cast upward at the white sky. "It would be a nice stretch for these legs." A fat vole really sounded wonderful right about now. Her mouth watered and her tongue swiped across her upper lip. Leafblaze gave a calm nod, her ginger fur fluffing up against the cold. She began padding towards the entrance of camp, voice light. "Yes. That does sound wonderful. They prey pile's lower each day...So I hope we get some good catches."

"What is battle like? I mean, major battle. Involving the whole clan," Wolfpaw inquired, looking at his paws. He had always been afraid of full-scale war, mostly that he wouldn't be able to pull his own weight when the time came.

"Brutal. And thrilling. You feel alive when you're in danger, and when you fight with your clan, your mate, your kits at your side, you feel what being Sunclan really means." Sootflame explained wistfully. He hummed. "Lost my eye in battle. Best scar of my life." He turned to show off the hollow scar of where his eye used to be.

( Moonblazer ) Skunkstripe padded next to the she-cat, exiting the camp. She allowed her senses to sharpen, her undivided attention falling upon her surroundings. With parted black jaws, she tasted the air. She could taste the cold air, the dead leaves under the thin layer of snow beneath her paws, and a few herb-like scents, like when she spent time in the medicine cat's den. But the prominet smell of a piece of prey caught her attention. "I smell something," she informed her companion. "Shrew, I believe."

"Well then let's not waste the opportunity." Leafblaze scented the prey as well, slinking instinctively into a hunting crouch and stalking after the prey. "Want me to lead it to you?"

Skunkstripe followed suit, crouching into the same stalking position. "Sure, I'll wait here." She made her way to a small bramble patch, hiding within. Unfortunately, the white snow made her black fur easy to spot, but she was sure she could hide quietly enough as to not allow the ill-fated critter to spot her. She readied her haunches to pounce when Leafblaze guided the prey towards her.

Leafblaze nodded quickly, stalking across the snow with experienced silence. Her green eyes narrowed in focus as she began slowly guiding the anxious prey in Skunkstripe's direction. She lunged forward suddenly, chasing the prey right towards her companion.

Skunkstripe's pupil's dialated as she watched for the shrew to come running her direction. Her long-furred tail hovered over the snow behind her, her leg muscles twitching as she waited in anticipation. When she saw the sudden ginger flurry in the near distance, she spotted a small dark gray animal darting near her. It was headed more to the left of her. Before the creature could slip past, her hind legs gave a powerful leap and her unsheathed claws fell slightly clumsily against the shrew's tail. A pang of anxiety banged her heart as she thought for a moment their catch would get away, but she brought her jaws down on it's neck in a swift kill before it could scurry out of her grasp. With her heart still beating fast, she turned to Leafblaze, the shrew dangling lifeless in her jaws.

Fernblossom laughed at her tiny son, wrapping her thick tail around him. “Well, that’s okay, because I’ll keep you warm.” She purred, licking him on the forehead. Her attention was drawn to commotion in the camp. She picked up Rowankit by the scruff when she saw Skyflowet and a...was that a rogue? What was such a sensible and gentle she-cat doing with a tom who was part of a group that killed? Maternal instinct took over, and Fernblossom quickly gathered Dewkit and Silverkit, pushing them to their father. She pressed her pelt against Emberstar, gently taking Gingerkit off his back and laying her down at her paws where her siblings sat.
Cloudfoot bounded in to camp, his fluffy tail twined with Scarletpaw’s and his eyes filled with happy light. He was a bit exhausted; the she-cat could really run. His delight and exhaustion was broken as he spotted Skyflower with a random cat. He and Skyflower had liked each other when they were apprentices and had gone out on walks together, but soon realized they weren’t right with each other. They were still great friends, however, and he considered her as a sister. He pulled away from Scarletpaw, adrenaline heating up his pelt. “Did this tom hurt you?” He demanded the grey and white she-cat, whilst glaring at the tom.

"Good catch, Skunkstripe." Leadblaze padded up to the other she-cat, eyes tracing the prey with approval. "Not that I had any doubt."

It took all of Skyflower’s effort to not lash out at the obnoxious apprentice. She leaned forward and gave Rush a lick on the ear, praying to StarClan that they could save him. Rowankit pressed himself gratefully against his mother, purring happily. Dewkit whined in protest as Fernblossom stopped his game with Silverkit. Emberstar pressed himself against Fernblossom. “Everything will be okay,” he meowed. “I trust Skyflower’s judgment. She wouldn’t bring anybody into camp who would do us harm.” I hope, he added silently to himself, not wanting his mate or anybody else to see him doubting his sister. Scarlet purred happily as she was pressed against Cloudfoot. Scarletpaw watched him walk toward the rogue cat, startled. (@pinacolada Are you asking Skyflower if Rush hurt her? Sorry, just a little confused. )

Rustlepaw walked through the territory, mewing to Lynxpaw. "I wish I knew what you looked like. I bet you, and all the others, I bet you look as amazing as your voices sound. So different and unique. I bet you look as cool as you sound." She admitted bravely.

Rustlepaw flushed lightly at his action, not farmiliar with this. She hadn't been given such motions since she was a kit, from her mother and father. It felt nice, and she mewed lightly. "Your fur...it's soft." She smiled, lifting a paw to gently prod at his side, to feel his pelt.
"Mine feels spiky. Like the Pine Needles that give that strong smell, or like Sootflame's."

Rustlepaw shuffled her paws, not used to this kind of feeling. She steppe back quickly, a bit afraid of it, but not admitting that. Instead, she took a breath and purred faintly. "Er...Thanks! Sorry, er, I guess I got alot more energy." She laughed sheepishly. She wondered why it felt so nice when he was close.

(Hello! I have admittedly been debating joining this clan for some time now, and finally decided to get around to doing it. However, before I join, are you still accepting rogues? I saw in the Clan Advertisement page that there was a plot around the rouges and I didn't want to potentially mess that up haha. If not, no worries!)

Rustlepaw gave a laugh. "Hmg. I've been an apprentice for a while, but we never hang out. Sorry about that, Lynxpaw. I can be a bit forgetful when I'm training." She apologized.
