So, a lot of you know that she was killed as an excuse to bring deathberries into the camp, but Hollyleaf never used them on Leafpool; she chose to let her live. Does this mean that Honeyfern died for nothing? If the Erins weren't so attached to Briarlight, they'd have killed her off by now and not let her be a symbol whatsoever, and the deathberries were useless since, again, Hollyleaf never used them. I know she would've become a bland background character, but I feel like her sacrifice was a waste, and even disrespectful.

It's called bad writing, lol. And srs would take Honeyfern over Briarlight anyday, the fact that Briar keeps escaping death honestly annoys me so much. When was the last time the Erins even killed a kit, I don't even count the nameless one in the DF battle tbh or the ones that die not long after birth cause we literally have no attachment to them as readers. There hasn't been a significant kit death since the first arc, and I bet if Briarlight died Millie and Gray would have paid more attention to their kits tbh.

Reason 1892 why I am still angry that she was killed off.

After doing a recent re read of the Original Series I can safely say I very much miss the days when we got like 2 RELEVANT deaths per book.... That sounds weird and brutal but honestly the Erins need to be less concerned about killing off fan favourites or whatever and more concerned about the number of characters that have literally nothing to do.

Briarlight : the half-cat ( sorry , but ... this is the truth ) is alive , and Honeyfern , a strong cat and skilled warrior is dead . Really ? If we think at what you said , Honeyfern died for nothing , only for Berrynose's pain .

I believe that she did die for nothing. The Erins should've had Briarkit die and Honeyfern live. It would have been a more interesting plot I think.

For some reason i thought that said Brightheart for a second and i was goung to go on a rant about how Brighthearts great but... I agree with you my apologies. The whole briarlight thing really rubs me the wrong way like surely next time greencough goes through Thunderclan thats it lights out no more Briarlight?? They made a big deal out of her weakened lungs when the injury happened so like.. surely...

From start to finish, I've honestly lost track, and the includes clan invasions....

She's cheated death seven times already. 1) Greencough as a kit 2) The snake that killed Honeyfern 3) The tree 4) Dog attack 5) The Great Battle 6) Greencough again 7) The flood And if you count her paralysis in general, then that's eight.
