"You have to let me see her!" "Sir, I need you to step back!" The nurse told Celous firmly, her tiny frame was not intimidated by the towering fighter that stood before her, "Only family is allowed in there at this time." "She doesn't have any family!" Celous snapped back at the nurse, he tried to step past her once again, but the nurse held firm, not giving the fighter an inch, "Her parents are dead! Her sister died when she was in high school! She doesn't have anyone but the students and faculty at the University! You have to let me see her!" "I cannot permit anyone to enter that room unless they're of blood relation to Miss North." The nurse repeated firmly, her eyes baring up at Celous', "She hasn't even regained consciousness yet so until the doctors are finished applying treatment, only family is allowed in that room." "Celous, come on, they're doing their best." Claral said from behind him, "We can wait out here, I'm sure when Nicole wakes us they'll let us in there. Please sit down?" Celous let a growl escape his throat as he turned from the nurse and headed back into the waiting room. His fists were tightened as he paced. Claral sat in a chair near him and frowned as she watched him move back and forth, "You're pacing isn't going to help." "Well I can't just sit there!" Celous snapped back at her. His eyes scanned the waiting room as he boots marked a path in the floor. The waiting room was near empty tonight with the refreshing sense of healthy people out in the city. Claral and Celous were one of the only ones there. There was a man sitting across the room watching Celous' interaction with the nurse with a gift basket on his lap as he seemed to be waiting to see someone as well. There were a few nurses at the reception counter that were keeping weary eyes on the pacing fighter should he try to force his way to Nicole's hospital room or let his anger lead him to other violence. "She's going to be ok, Celous." Claral sighed as she watched the old fighter, "The doctors said that she is mainly bruised." "With a few cracked ribs, a concussion, and multiple scraps and abrasions." Celous replied hardly, his eyes staring down at the ground as he paced back and forth, "If I would've just called her sooner, if I said something at school earlier today, I could've been there....I should've been there." He finally plopped down in the chair right next to Claral's, holding his head in his hands and shaking it, "I should've been with her." "You can't beat yourself up about this, Celous." Claral told him, "She wouldn't want that. What I don't understand is what she was doing? She told me she was staying home all night." she let out another sigh and shook her head, looking back down the hall that led to Nicole's room. Celous didn't reply to her, he didn't even look up. I'm a fool. he told himself, I shouldn't have waited so long. Why did I wait so long? He didn't get to remain in his thoughts long as Claral was tapping his side with her wrist. Celous looked at her to find her eyes were directed up to the two new people coming into the waiting room: two police officers, "Is the mugging victim awake yet?" One of the officers asked walking up to the reception counter. Celous immediately got to his feet and crossed over to them as the nurse solemnly shook her head in reply, "You're investigating what happened to Nicole?" he asked urgently. The police officers turned to him, the older one raising his eyebrow, "You know the victim?" "Her name is Nicole North, she's the dean of the North Shadows at the university." Claral informed calmly. Stepping up beside Celous, she placed her hand on Celous' shoulder in signal for him to be quiet, "I recognized her as soon as they brought her in." "Nicole North." The older officer sighed as he rubbed his chin, "Yeah, we probably should've known. Her attackers didn't leave any ID on her and, honestly, under the bruises," He let out a heavy sigh, "I didn't recognize her." Celous tensed up at the officer's words, "Do you know who did this to her?" "Are you two family of her's?" The younger officer asked. "We're close friends." Claral corrected with a glance at the fighter, "My name is Dr. Claral Liv, I volunteer here at the hospital. This is Celous Skye," She motioned toward the fighter, "We both work at the university under Nicole." "Celous Skye?" the younger officer repeated suddenly, his eyes growing wide as he looked at the fighter, "Like Head Football Coach Celous Skye? Former fighting champion that won the league like five times?!" "What can you tell us about Nicole?" Celous cut sharply, he turned his eyes to the older officer, "What happened to her?" "She was found in an alley not far from a quick mart in the middle of town." The older office replied with a stern look at his partner's unprofessional outburst, "We'll admit we've been having trouble with people getting mugged in the middle of town. We think a gang is rising up, but an investigation is underway." Celous tensed again, but before he could say anything Claral stepped in front of him, sensing his anger rising once again, "Why was she even out there?" "We believe she stopped at the mart to pick up some ice cream." The older officer replied, but his eyes were watching Celous with stern caution, "There was a melted carton of cookie dough ice cream laying on the ground at the entrance to the alley." "Tell me you have suspects." Celous asked hardly. Cookie dough ice cream was Nicole's favorite, he had learned that in one of their many conversations, and Claral had said Nicole was planning on staying home tonight, so he could only assume Nicole was planning on sitting home with ice cream in her hands. To know that she was attacked while in pursuit of the comfort food kicked at Celous' old fighter's sense. "Even if we did, we wouldn't be disclosing that information." The older officer replied, "We're hoping to meet with Nicole and hear her story on what happened. She might have seen their face or anything of them that could help us identify some of these gang members." "Celous, let them do their job." Claral looked at the fighter with a sternness in her eyes. "If Nicole isn't awake yet, then we're going to have to come back tomorrow." the older officer stated calmly as his eyes studied Celous, "We'll do everything we can to catch these guys. No one else needs to get hurt by them." "If you would've done your job already, they wouldn't be hurting anyone else." Celous stated rudely as he matched the officer's gaze, "Nicole wouldn't been hurt!" "Celous!" Claral scolded sharply, but the fighter turned away from them and paced back over to the chairs in the waiting room, "I'm sorry officers." Claral said quickly. Celous didn't listen in their conversation. A gang was rising in town? Some punks thought they could get away with robbing people right off the street? Celous tightened his fist, he felt the strong urge to punch something and he wished it could be Nicole's attackers. I should've been with her. he scolded himself again, She shouldn't have been alone. "Dad!" The fighter was broken out of his thoughts at the sound of his sons' voices. He looked up to see Cedar and Ashton running into the waiting room just as the police officers were heading out. There were actually more students coming in behind them, "Aunt Aria called and told us what happened. How is Miss North?" Cedar asked quickly. "Were those officers just here to see her?" Ashton asked quickly, motioning back towards the two cops that just left, "Can we see her?" "They're only allowing family to see her." Celous replied, trying to keep the edge of out his voice, "She's still unconscious." "But we are family!" A different student stated from behind Ashton and Cedar, "When Ashton told us what happened, we had to come! Everyone at Moon U is family! Why can't we see her?" "Because then there would be an entire university of students crammed in Miss North's room." Claral stated as she came walking up, "I'm glad to see you students are worried about your dean, that'll definitely warm Miss North's heart when she wakes up." "Are they not even letting you see her?" Cedar asked, looking curious at his father. Celous shook his head, turning his eyes back down the hall that led to Nicole's room, "No." he sighed. "I'm sure she'll want to see someone when she wakes." Ashton exchanged a look with one of his fellow students, "She'll probably call for someone when she wakes up." "Of that I'm sure." Claral replied with a soft smile, "But for now all we can do is wait." she looked over at the students, "We don't know how long it'll take, but we'll keep the school updated on Miss North's condition. You students don't need your night ruined because of this." "Stella has an early exam tomorrow." Cedar said calmly, "She went back to her dorm to study, I'm gonna stay." "I wasn't having any fun, anyway." Ashton snorted as he crossed his arms. A few of the other students that had followed the twins spoke words to Dr. Liv that they wanted her tell Miss North when she woke and apologized for having to go, while some other decided to stay for a while. Most of the chairs within the waiting room were filled with the students from the university. Celous returned to his pacing, but ended up hearing many of the different conversations from the students. Many of the students there had come because they knew Nicole North on a more personal level. Some of them had spent time with the dean in tutoring, others found counselling in the listening ear of Nicole, while others knew Nicole from working in the building where her office was located. Celous was surprised to hear the many different tales of the students and to see the variety of students that had come that night. He never realized how much Nicole worked with them and helped them. She really does see them like her own children. he thought as he turning in his pacing again, And I first thought that Claral was making it up to make Nicole sound like a better dean. He remembered when the doctor had told him that. It was when he had first started working at the university and Nicole had been the most cold and distant person he had ever met. Oh how things change in time. he thought, pausing just enough to look down the hall again, silently praying that someone would let him back there to see her. He had been through many beatings and knew how to take them, but Nicole had been through none, and despite how strong she stood as dean, he knew how delicate she actually was. I should've been with her.

"Celous you were supposed to go home!" The fighting coach jumped awake at the sound of Claral's snapping voice. He sat up quickly, his body rather sore from the awkward position he was sleeping in, in that waiting room chair. Claral was standing over him with a frown on her face, "Seriously Celous, you shouldn't have stayed here all night." Celous glanced over at the clock on the far wall. Nurses were calmly going through their morning routine and the waiting room was near empty, "They wouldn't let me see her." he muttered as a yawn forced its way out of his mouth, the memory of last night was fresh in his mind. One by one the students left to return to their homes to gather sleep for their classes the next morning, Claral was the last to leave after warning Celous not to stay here all night. "Of course not, they want her to rest. She's been through a lot, Celous." Claral let out a sigh and sat down in the chair right next to him, "You have classes later this morning, Nicole wouldn't want you to miss them. The students are paying too much for you to leave them." Celous let out a long sigh, "Claral--" "Don't 'Claral' me, Celous." the doctor replied sternly, "You go take care of those loyal students of yours, I'll be here for Nicole. I'll let you know if anything changes." Celous shifted in his chair, Claral's words were eating at him. Nicole would want him to go take care of his students, but he was nagging at himself to stay. His eyes looked toward the hallway where Nicole was somewhere down, "Go, Celous." Claral repeated calmly, she gave him a smile, "Go get cleaned up and go teach your students." Celous let out a long sigh, the fight inside of him finally heeding to CLaral's words and the thought of what Nicole would want him to do, "You'll let me know if anything changes?" Claral only nodded to him, "Go, Celous."
She watched the large fighter reluctantly leave his chair. Celous paused to looked down the hallway again before starting out of the hospital. His muscles were tense with his concern for the dean and Claral could feel the guilt and anxiety beat off of him like the pulses of his heart, "She'll be fine Celous!" She called after the fighter, but he didn't turn back toward her. If he heard her words, he didn't acknowledge them. Claral gave a soft smile before turning down the hall. "He's gone, my dear." Claral sighed as she slipped into Nicole's hospital room. Nicole let out a heavy sigh; however, she barely moved, "Thank you Claral." she said softly. The doctor smiled softly as she stepped up to the bed. Nicole was covered in bruises, and one of her eyes was still partially swollen shut. She didn't even want to look under Nicole's hospital gown to see what bruises lied beneath. When she arrived this morning, the nurses said that Nicole was awake and asking for her. Claral went to check on her right away after seeing Celous passed out in the hospital chair. When she told Nicole how the old fighter had reacted upon hearing her condition and that he was still there, Nicole had asked that she send Celous away, "I still think you should've seen him. He stayed here all night for you." Nicole's head barely shook and her eyes departed from Claral, a sorrow and pain within them, "No." she didn't say anymore on the matter before looking back to Claral, "How did you get him to leave?" "I told him what you told me to tell him." Claral replied with a sigh, "And you were right, it worked better than I thought. Poor man is exhausted from worrying about you and his rough night in that uncomfortable chair." The dean turned her eyes from Claral once again, the doctor could only guess what was going through her mind, "Are you alright, Nicole?" Claral asked for the fifth time that morning. "Take me home, Claral." "Nicole you need to stay here where the doctors and nurses can keep an eye on you." Claral scolded. "I want to go home." Nicole repeated, turning her eyes to her friend, "The doctors said I just need to rest and heal, I can do that at home. There's no need for me to fill this bed, take me home." It was the brokenness in the dean's eyes that convinced Claral. A sorrowed wave washed through her as she realized how her friend might feel. Beaten and broken, Nicole lost her confidence and no doubt she didn't want others to realize it as well, "Alight, Nicole." Claral sighed, "I'll take you home, but you rest at home alright? I'll take care of things at work for you. You just focus on getting better." She took a deep sigh when Nicole tried to sit up, the pain bringing the brink of tears to her eyes, "I'll get the doctor..."

Her couch was where she stayed. Claral drove her home after Nicole spoke with the police about her attack. Her car was missing, her stuff was still gone and they had no idea who did it, but Claral insisted that Nicole let her deal with all of it and only focus on healing. At her house, Claral assisted Nicole into cleaner, comfier clothes: sweatpants and a hoodie, before Claral made her some soup. Claral insisted Nicole rest in her own bed, but Nicole chose the couch where she could watch the movie she had planned for last night. Yet, the movie didn't get put in, and Claral's soup was going cold. When Nicole realized the time, she insisted that Claral leave so that she wouldn't miss the class she was meant to instruct that day. When Claral finally left, Nicole laid down on her couch with pillows and blankets and only moved so that her cat could curl up with her. She ached. Oh how she ached. Nicole hardly moved with the pain that split through her body from the bruises and injuries she received from the mugging, she wanted to find release from it in the blissful unconsciousness of sleep; however, every time she closed her eyes she felt like she was back in that alley. Those men standing over her and beating her just so that they could take her things. Nicole trembled and tears rolled from her unblinking eyes, how sure of herself she was before that encounter, but now she just felt vulnerable. Her face had a mosaic of a bruise that crossed right eye and extended down her cheekbone. With every breath she felt the tightened pain from her blackened ribs. She had scraps and cuts along her legs and arms from the hard gravel the muggers pushed her into. Now they were cleaned up and bandaged, but she still felt the cutting edges of the rocks and shards of glass that forced their way into her. Her only comfort was in Shadow: her cat that curled up in her arms. Since she dared not close her eyes she only stared at the little tom. He was purring softly like he always did when he was with her, dozing off to sleep as she laid on the couch. No doubt the little tom was enjoying having her for the whole day since she always away at work otherwise. She didn't know how long she and Shadow laid there, her body was too sore to turn to look at the clock, but enough time had passed that Shadow had stopped purring in his deep slumber, only for the ring of her doorbell to rudely wake him up. The cat was out of her arms in a heartbeat, his sudden movement spiking pain through Nicole's chest. When Shadow finally realized it was the doorbell, he ran to the front door, pawing at it and meowing back at her. Nicole let out a sigh when the doorbell sounded, having three-fourths a mind of just letting it go, not answering and just let whoever it was leave, but she knew Shadow wouldn't stop meowing until she let him outside so he could go hunt or do whatever it was he did when he left the house. The doorbell sounded again and was followed by a knock, and two mews from Shadow. Nicole slowly pulled herself up, letting out a grunt against the pain in her arms and chest. She was panting by the time she was actually sitting up and with how long she took, the doorbell sounded again and Shadow scratched his claws at the door, "Shadow, stop it!" Nicole scolded in a soft grunt, but he only circled and mewed back at her. Nicole took a deep breath when she got to her feet and she held her side as she made slow steps towards the front door. Reaching it, she paused with the fear of her mugger's return, but after she scolded herself for her foolishness, she feared the reaction of whoever it was at the sight of her. The dean raised her hand up to her hair and ran her fingers through it so that her white bangs covered the right side of her bruised face. Her eyes then glanced out of the laced curtained window to her driveway, and her heart skipped a beat seeing the large midnight blue chevy sitting right next to her small car. Another knock sounded from the door, "Nicole?" she heard muffled through the door. There was no doubt in her mind that it was Celous, I don't want him seeing me like this. she thought in fear. Her wrapped her arms around her torso as a shudder of insecurity coursed through her. "He stayed here all night for you." Claral's words resounded in her mind. Time and time again the doctor had tried to convince her into seeing, or at least calling, Celous, especially since the old fighter had called her four times last night, but Nicole couldn't brave facing him. Part of her wanted to blame Claral for Celous showing up at her door, but she knew her friend would keep her promise of keeping her nosy heart out of it. Her cracked phone started to ring on the end table by the couch. Nicole didn't look back at it as she suspected who it was. Part of her knew that he wouldn't leave, especially since he could probably hear her phone through the door, but the other part was terrified of facing him. I should've been stronger, She told herself, I should've been able to fight back, like he would've, like Aria would've... "Nicole, please open the door." Celous's voice sounded again and she almost broke hearing how concerned he sounded. Another tremble shook her broken body and she felt her muscles tense as she reached for the doorknob, her head bending down so that her hair fell in front of her face. "Nicole-" Celous cut off when she finally opened the door, Shadow rushing out. She couldn't lift her eyes to meet his though. Instead she left the door cracked open roughly nine inches and her arms wrapped around her torso once again, "Are you alright?" he asked slowly. Nicole only nodded, keeping her eyes turned downward, but she caught sight of a grocery bag hanging in his hand. She could see through the plastic and immediately identified a container of ice cream. In the back of her mind she found herself praying he brought it for her. "The police told us what happened," Celous said as he followed her gaze down to the grocery bag, "And what you were probably doing..." he trailed off and Nicole felt his eyes studying her, but she still couldn't look at him, "Nicole could I come in?" She hesitated and found that her voice was caught in her throat, but after long moments, Nicole finally nodded. She pulled away from the door and headed back to her couch. It took everything in her to try and walk normal, but pain split through her body with every step. By the time she reached the couch she was panting heavily again and her muscles were trembling from the pain and exertion. Celous had closed the door after entering and she didn't have to look to know he was standing there watching her, "I'm fine, Celous." she forced out, still not looking up at him. "I...I had to see you." Celous replied slowly. He started toward her, setting the grocery bag on the coffee table, "I should've been with you." He knelt in front of her, trying to see past her fallen hair, but Nicole turned her eyes away, she couldn't let him see how broken she was, "I would've never let them hurt you." She didn't know if it was his words, or the memories of last night, but Nicole felt fear tighten in her chest, squeezing tears to her eyes and causing her body to tremble, "I should've been stronger." She told him, her breath barely forming a sound that wasn't cracked, she finally looked him in the eye, his concerned and kind eyes, "I should've been able to stop them..." "Hey," Celous said softly, his rough hand reached to her face and carefully brushed her hair behind her ear, revealing the brushes on her face. At his gentle touch, Nicole pressed into his calloused hand, "You are the strongest person I know." He told her, "I promise, this will never happen to you again." She broke. She couldn't help it. The weight of her fear choked sobs through her throat and despite the pain of her face, tears fell from her eyes. Celous rose to sit on the couch beside her and she leaned into him, her quiet sobs soaking into his shirt. He just held her. He held her close in his strong arms and he dared not let go.

He held her. Even after her sobs had quieted, he held her. Nicole was nearly curled up against his chest, his shirt tightened in her hands and dampened by her tears. Celous just held her close, he didn't have the words to say to comfort her, but she was more than distressed after what happened. He could feel her body tremble from the extent of the experience as he held her and he felt his own anger, deep in his heart, towards the men that did this. As he held her, he gently rubbed his hand across her back, wishing that they were softer and less callous for her sake. With her head buried against his chest, Celous leaned his head gently against hers. Her hair still smelled of soft pines from the shampoo she preferred and he found himself preferring it too. He didn't pay attention to the time, he didn't want to know its passage, but Nicole slowly started to calm down in his arms. Her sobs quieted though her body still trembled, but she didn't pull away from him, so he kept his hold on her. He wanted to say something, he wanted give her the perfect words that would make everything better, but no matter what words he thought of, nothing qualified to breach his choked throat and part of him was worried that if he did say something, she would pull away. He felt her hand release its tight grip on his shirt and his mind was prepared for when she pulled away from him, but Nicole didn't move. She stayed against his chest, her trembling easing away. Celous dipped his nose down toward her hair once again and noticed how her eyes were closed and her face was finally relaxed. The slightest of smiles cracked his lips and he continued to hold her.

Blaine checked his watch, the cloudy sky already making him weary and exhasperated. Rosalina was still in her meeting, and they were supposed to be meeting their father for another meeting. If it was one thing Henry Fury hated, it was starting meetings late. The dark haired Business Major gave a heavy sigh.
Rosalina quickly fixed her hair and outfit before rushing out the building, heels clicking on concrete as she met up with her brother. The young woman sighed. "Apologies. The meeting went on longer than planned. Apparently there was an issue with the College's marketing and I had to correct the lousy know-it-all's who couldn't count higher than 10."
Blaine ushered her towards his car, shaking his head. "It's fine. We'll just drive a little faster. The worst father can do is make us pay our full tuitions."
"We already pay most of it ourselves anyway." Rosalina scowled, to which Blaine snickered. "Exactly. As I said, it's the worst he can do."
Their father was concerned about the violence on campus. It was ruining the business for the University, less students applying due to the heavy rumors and accidents.

The sharp ring of the telephone snapped Celous out of the sleep that had pulled his eyelids closed. His head was leaned against Nicole's, the smell of her pine shampoo filling his head, but realizing what he was doing, he pulled away. Nicole was still in his arms, still leaned against his chest, but at the sharp ring of the phone, she stirred. A tightness grabbed Celous's throat as he wondered how long they had been laying like this. Nicole stirred just slightly at the ring of the telephone, but he felt her hand tap against his chest like a blind man reading braille. Suddenly Nicole pulled off of him before wincing in pain from her movement. "Are you alright?" Celous asked her. Nicole only nodded, her hand covering the blush upon her bruised cheeks, with her other hand she motioned toward the ringing phone, "Can you see who it is?" she asked slowly, her eyes wouldn't look at him. Celous nodded back to her before carefully getting up to not disturb her injuries. The ice cream on the coffee table had a poor of water around it from sitting out, so he picked it up to take it to her freezer for her later. The phone was on the wall jack in the kitchen and Celous found himself taking a look around as he went to it. Nicole's kitchen wasn't very large, it had a simple black and white design to it, and from the appliances set out he had a feeling it was hardly used. Which was much different from the kitchen back on his ranch. He took the phone off the jack and though the caller ID didn't know who it was, he recognized the number displayed on the screen, "It's Cedar." he called back to Nicole, his brow furrowing in confusion, Why's he calling here? he asked himself. "Go ahead and answer it." Nicole called back. Celous carried the phone back toward the front room and he met her eyes when he answered the ring. "Miss. North, thank God you answered! Are you ok? We can't find our dad!" Cedar's urgent voice erupted as soon as Celous answered the call. Celous let out a sigh, "Cedar, I'm fine and so is Miss. North." he replied, but he didn't take his eyes off of Nicole. Hearing his response to his son, Nicole's split lip cracked into the slightest and softest of smiles. She looked away from him and to the clock across the room. Celous followed her gaze and a wince gripped his gut realizing how much time had passed since he arrived. "Dad?" Cedar's voice sounded over the line, "You're at Miss. North's?" a stricter tone was entering his words, "Why didn't you tell us?! We've had the whole team searching everywhere for you! We thought you were going after those guys that attacked Miss. North!" "You could've answered your phone!" Ashton's voice shouted from the background. Celous rubbed his hand down the back of his head, "Look, boys, I'm alright. I'm sorry I didn't let you know where I was." His own phone was in his back pocket and he had a feeling it was on silent. "Is Miss. North ok?" Cedar asked, seeming to take his apology, "Dr. Liv told us she left the hospital this morning." "She's fine." Celous replied, Nicole looked back at him, "Don't you boys worry." "You take care of her, dad." Cedar said. Celous took a deep breath, glancing away from Nicole, "I will. See you boys tonight." "Bye!" Celous hung up the phone and placed it down on the counter before walking back to the couch Nicole was seated at. When he hung up, she had turned to stare down at the coffee table, her nose dipped toward the hoodie she wore, "Are you alright?" He asked gingerly, taking a seat on the opposite end of the couch. She nodded slowly, but didn't look at him, "I'll be alright." she eased herself to lean back against the couch, "Just need to heal, I guess." "Nicole, if there's anything you need--" "You put the ice cream in the freezer didn't you?" She cut him off, her tired eyes looking back at him as a small smile slipped on her face, "I'll be ok, Celous, thank you for everything." He nodded back to her, not entirely sure on what to say. He didn't want to leave her, but he wasn't sure if he should stay. Instead he watched her. She was breathing heavy against the pain from her movement, but overall she appeared relaxed against the soft cushion of the couch. Once again she dipped her nose down toward the hoodie she was wearing and Celous blinked in surprise as he finally realized she was wearing one of his hoodies, "Is that...is that mine?" he asked pointing to the clothing, he couldn't help the smirk that was cracking his lips. Nicole visibly froze at his words and her own eyes glanced toward the hoodie, "Um..." she pulled her nose away and rubbed it with one of her hands, "Yes." she replied, her eyes flickering a glance at him. "It looks good on you." Celous smiled At his words she looked at him, another blush in her bruised cheeks, "Thank you." They fell into silence for a few long moments, Celous was trying to think of something to say. He thought about inviting her to dinner at his place with the boys, but she needed to stay bedridden to rest else risk causing further harm to her injuries. He then thought about offering to bring her dinner from any restaurant she wanted, but knowing her she would only decline even if she wanted to take his offer. Through those few moments, he felt his heart beating heavily in his chest as he fought for the words to say to her. Anything to make her feel better after the tears she cried on his shirt, anything to chase away the fear that hollowed her and make her feel safe. "Celous..." Nicole broke the silence with her still and soft voice, she eyes were faltering to meet his and he caught a nervousness in the rattling breaths she took. "Nicole, what's wrong?" he asked, his brow creasing in concern. He even shifted his position to lean toward her. "Nothing." Nicole shook her head quickly, "I just...I need to tell you something." "You can tell me anything." She gave him a grateful smile that flushed more color to her cheeks, "I...keep thinking...about Christmas." she admitted, glancing her eyes downward, "And you're such a good father to those twins." She forced her eyes to look at him, "They really are lucky to have you, Celous." He paused at her words, stilling his face as a hope fluttered like butterflies in his stomach, "I love my sons." he said to her, shifting so that he moved closer to her, "And I would do anything for them, but..." his head bounced in agreement with her, "I think about Christmas a lot too." "You do?" Nicole asked him, her eyes didn't stray from his. Celous nodded again, "I think about the call I got where you asked me to help you out of a ditch. I think about the ride back to my ranch when I got you to sing that song with me." She blushed and ran her hand down her hair, and he continued when her faltering eyes looked back at him, "I think about the breakfast my boys and I shared with you, all the talks of Christmas pasts, having a teammate in our snowy football game." "The snowball fight out in the yard." Nicole smiled softly. Celous's smile widened, "And the blizzard that kept us snowed in and stole the power." "And how the twins tried cooking over the fireplace." Nicole chuckled. Celous nodded to her, watching how her eyes shown when she thought about the memories, "But most of all," he said slowly, he moved a little bit closer to her, "I think about the one rule I have at Christmas that twins broke." She tilted her head, her eyes squinting with inquiry, "What rule is that?" "No mistletoe is allowed in the house." he replied calmly. She blinked in surprise at him, but words seemed to be stuck in her throat, "I think about that rule." He continued slowly, "And I am so glad that they broke it that night." A breath gaped in her mouth at his words and he could see a smile fighting her lips. Suddenly she leaned forward, her hand grabbing into his own, "You don't need mistletoe." she whispered. Celous breathed though a smile as he looked into her eyes. He raised a hand to her head to gently brush the hair from her face before he pulled her in close and kissed her.

Ok! Here's a list of my other characters you can choose from:
Teachers:
Scorchfire - Versengen (Vernie) Feuer - School's scrap metal teacher. If it has to do with fire or metal he's interested. Vernie's best friend is Cliff Hertz and his daughter is Ruslana Feuer. He's always seen smiling and having a good time. Many students like him. Vernie doesn't have a beard after learning one too many times how flammable they are. Instead he has long burnt red hair that rests softly upon his shoulders and determined amber eyes. He always seems to have ash and soot on his face.
Cliffheart- Cliff Hertz - Professor of Religion and Philosophy, his sons are Aquila and Rauch Hertz. He has a dark past. Got into trouble as a youth and quickly found himself down a road to darkness, but his former mentor helped him out and Nicole North decided to give him a second chance by giving him a job at the university. Cliff has long limbs and nicely toned and lean. He has scars from his past on his skin and won't answer anyone when asked about them. He had white hair that is patched with brown and black and blue eyes.
Rabbitdash - Rapoto Tonnel - Geology professor - Going blind. Worked as a miner when younger, done research in tunnels, knows his caves and rocks. He's old and he's grumpy. He has gray hair that use to be brown a head-strong way in this walk, but his hearing is fantastic. Having tuned it many times in the caves and explorations he's been on. Rapoto has never had a wife and he doesn't ever plan on having any.
North Shadows:
Russetshade - Ruslana Feuer - environmentalist. hunter. Tough gal wanting to work at a national park someday. Daughter of Vernie Feuer. Ruslana has short, dark russet hair with white tips, and light green eyes with black flecks. Ruslana is a skilled hunter and tracker. She's quiet, but confident and isn't afraid to speak her mind so at times she can have a quick temper.
Ratpaw - Ratin Sicht - The troublemaker. Emo kid who survived a few scares of cancer, but now he's just skin and bones and has little to no hair. He hates the world and everyone who tries to pity him. No one knows what he plans on doing with his life, but its rumored he wants to take over the world. He's actually too clever for his own good. Ratin is very good with computers and finds his amusement in hacking others and ruining their lives, all the while not getting caught, but always suspected. He covers his tracks well so no one can pin anything on him.
South River:
Ottermask - Otto Pool - Swim team, half uncle to Deodat. Studying Oceanography and Marine Biology. He has long russet-brown hair with silver streaks dyed into it and pale blue eyes. Otto is relatively calm. He doesn't get mad a lot and water is his life. Many consider him like a easy flowing river, but at swim practice he likes to boast that he's like an otter in the water. Otto is super protective of his nephew: Deodat Natter, knowing his family's dark history and pitying the boy.
Deadpaw - Deodat Natter - Missing a leg, missing a hand, blind in one eye, and terribly small. No one thought that Deodat would make it in life. His parents were murderers and while his mother was carrying him he was injured in the womb making him come out like he did. He tries his best not to let others look down on him and does everything he can to be normal. His uncle Otto is an older student and he doesn't know it but Otto is trying to save up money to buy Deodat prosthetic limbs.
West Thunder:
Thrushwing - Tarak Winlaw - Football player, brother to Sota Winlaw. Lost his parents when he was younger, but he never lets anything get him down. Other than Football he's also interested in Ornithology (Study of birds). He's in the bird watcher's club looking to become president of it. He butts heads with members of other dorms at times, but is always ready to help people. Tarak has short scruffy light brown hair with darker brown stripes within it and a scruffy looking short beard. He's strong and sometimes thinks he should join the wrestling/fighting team.
Sootclaw - Sota Winlaw - On the debate team, brother to Tarak Winlaw. Lost his parents when he was younger. He may be on the debate team but Sota is no wimp. He use to play football beside his brother in high school but gave it up in college to pursue his academics. Sota is still trying to determine what he's doing with his life. Sota has smokey gray hair with black stripes dyed into it and clear blue eyes. Thanks to his football days he's strong and he still works out at times because it helps calm him down.
Central Sky:
Splashecho - Seana Bach - Gymnast with the dream of going into sports med - comes from a rough family (her father a murderer), but got out, and is trying to be better. She has dyed gray hair with blue tips and beautiful blue eyes. She keeps to herself and always seems to be in her books, very shy.
East Wind:
Cheetahheart - Cheetah Gepard - On Track Team with dreams of being an Olympian. She is very lean and long. Cheetah has brown eyes and short golden hair with black tips. She takes her training more serious than life itself and if you want to take her heart you have to be better than her training. She is very independent and can be very strict or cold at times. She tends to keep to herself and puts off a front that she doesn't care about others.

(Back! So I have Dominic (Diamondheart) and Leena (Leaffrost.) Also Blaine and Rosalina when they come back. Or good old Henry Fury (Hawkfury) can give the college a call XD )
Dominic gazed at the windows of the pool. Nearly Midnight, but he had asked permission to use the pool once a week at this time. Swimming helped him relax, focus, he loved it more than anything. With a spring and a curl of his body, he blasted off the diving block.
Leena gently combed through her long brown hair, happily running a finger down the frosty white streak in her hair. Her blue eyes swirled with both happiness and mischeif. She wanted to do something fun tonight!

Otto stood over the pool, looking in as he spotted Dominic swimming within, Should've known he'd be here. he thought to himself, a calm smirk on his face. He tossed a flipflop over the water so that would land near where Dominic was underwater, no use in startling the guy by showing up.
The computer in Leena's room suddenly booted up, a message flashing on the screen:
Meet me behind the engineering building.

Dominic stopped in his lap as he saw the flip flop strike the water near him. Lifting his head up from the pool, the RA turned to train his goggle-covered eyes towards Otto. He waved, looking surprised. "Oh! Hey. I didn't know you swam this late too."
Leena would have been confused, but she knew exactly who this was from, and the thought of him made her buzz with sheer excitement. She rushed to apply some light make-up, wanting to look her best for him. She left her dorm room and walked excitedly towards her destination.

"I always swim before I hit the sack for the night." Otto replied, kicking off his other flipflop near a bench, "I could try to go to bed without doing so, but I just can't sleep until I do." He chuckled to himself, "Tonight I just spent too long typing up a paper for my class tomorrow."
Lights flickered one-by-one on Leena's walk to her destination. Hidden in the shadows behind the engineering building was a scrawny looking figure wearing black jeans and a black hoodie. His face was covered, but his feet were pale and bare. Tucked under his hand was a sleeping tablet.

"I know how you feel." Dominic grinned with kind understanding. He swam back and gripped the wall. "Marine Biology is a great class, but the papers can be hair-tugging."
Leena practically purred as her walkway was lit up as she walked, blue eyes taking in the dark figure before her with unhidden admiration and delight. She rushed up to him, giggling. "You look wonderful tonight." She spoke genuinely, loving his dark clothes against his pale skin.

The kiss made her forget. She forgot the pain that weakened her body, she forgot the fear that came from her attack, she forgot the memories of the muggers, and the anxiety at the hospital. It all melted away when his lips met her's. Feathers floated from her heart with how high it soared and her mind was buzzing with girlish glee. Her mouth was torn between a wide, blissful smile and kissing him, but she didn't care. Her mind was on him, his callous touch, his musky smell, the feel of his strong, defending muscles beneath her fingertips, and his hot breath against her face. Their foreheads touched together and she pressed against him, "Be mine." He whispered when their lips parted. His deep green eyes looked into her's, "Please be mine." Nicole smiled as she looked back at him, her heart fluttered in her chest. She took his hand in her's and raised it to her chest that he would feel the flying beat of her heart, "I have been yours since the day I met you." She told him, "I just didn't know it yet." Her words brought a smile to his lips and he suddenly wrapped his arms around her. The fighter shifted so that he leaned back against the arm rest of the couch, all the while his rough hands were gently pulling her toward him so that as he leaned back against the couch, she leaned on him. Nicole found herself impressed with how little pain his rough hands brought to her as he moved her, "Whatever you need, Nicole." He told her, "I will get for you." "I need this." Nicole smiled back at him, "I just need you to hold me." When he held her, she felt secure, she wasn't afraid. When he wrapped his arms around her, she felt safe, as if nothing could touch her, no muggers, no fears, and especially no doubts. "Gladly." He replied to her and he tightened his arms around her as she laid her head against his chest. She felt his lips kiss the top of her head as his strong lungs rose his chest with a deep breath. Nicole closed her eyes as a smile spread upon her face, I am yours, she told him silently, And you are mine.

"And so many rules!" Otto agreed, he shifted to sit, his legs hanging in the water, "I swear that professor makes every little detail a point! The paper wouldn't be hard to write if the guidelines weren't so ridiculous."

He shifted under her gaze, "I don't think the rest of the world would agree with you." He muttered to himself, but he let out a cough under his hood, "I'm glad you came." He admitted.

Dominic took his goggles off to focus on Otto as he chuckled. "I find it amazing we type papers longer than the pages of books that the topic's on." He joked.
Leena flushed warmly at his words, before she spoke simply. "Well, the rest of the world isn't you, so what do I care how they think? Of course I'd come. You asked me to, and I wanted to see you."

(Hey Fox!)
"No kidding!" Otto agreed, "There's only so many ways and so many words you can use to describe a topic!"
He shifted again before diving his eyes into the tablet in his hand, "Well, one of my professors today was boasting about his skills on the tech inside. Long story short he said it was unhackable." The light from the tablet shown on his pale and sunken face and he lifted his pale eyes to look back at her, "I got in less than a minute."

Dominic chuckled in agreement, before questioning. "Anything you want to swim? I'm working on my backstroke."
Leena breathed in awe, giggling. "That's my genius! I bet it was a cakewalk for you! What's on that dusty file?" Leena teased.

(Can't complain)
"Yeah I need to do something if I'm going to fall asleep tonight." Otto replied, he slipped into the water, "Glad the pool's heated." he chuckled to himself.
"The usual: grades, assignments, exams, scheduling, research, and that sort of stuff." he looked back at her, "What should I do to him?" he asked suddenly.
