I'm curious to know if those big Jayfeather fans are still out there. If you are, can you tell me why you like Jayfeather so much? To me, I think he's just an ungrateful, harsh jerk. But I'm curious as to why people like him so much, and not just because of his grumpy personality.

I'm not really a fan, but I do care about him. Mostly cause I just don't really care about everything people complain about him. I'm not blind though- I'm very aware of characteristics he has that can tick people off- I just don't care? He's interesting, he's developed, he can crack a joke every once and while, copes with his blindness fairly well, and I think is a genuinely good cat who cares about the well-being of others? At the end of the day I'm not angry that he exists, and I'm actually a bit glad he does.

I used to be a fan of Jayfeather. But now...
He's kind of unlikable, which is a shame, because it completely undermines his previous character development. His abrasive behavior in PoT can be attributed to his young age and naïveté, but it still made it difficult to root for him.
I did, however, like his portrayal in Shattered Sky.

I hardly remember what he did in that book, tbh.

Neutral on him. I mean, I like him, but he isn't my favorite.

I like him. I've always thought that he's a bit too hot tempered though. He definitely isn't my favorite, but I don't despise him either.

I love him because I can understand his attitude. And for once, we have a cat who is bratty and kind of cruel but goodhearted in TC. They are almost the same in every hair, so I enjoy having a different coin.

Liked him in POT, he was okay in OOTS, despise him in AVS. There is absolutely no excuse for bullying an apprentice, especially one that has anxiety issues on top of it.

One thing to note is that we had a POV from him in POT and OOTS, where as we have the more idealistic Alder and Twig to view him from in the current arc. I am not saying he is justified in his methods or words, just that we no longer have the direct link to his thinking like we used to.
The truth is that Jayfeather seems to think of the problems of others as "not a big deal", at least in comparison to his own experiences. That or he just has a general attitude of: Life sucks, get over it. He learned a long time ago that whining about his destiny will get him no where...
I had a point to this, I swear, but verbalizing (or typing in this case) my arguments is not my strong point. TLDR; he's a complex character but I do like him.
