Ah, noragami is such a good anime! I'm all caught up on both the anime and manga, I promise you that you'll love it! In a way, it's sort of similar to Soul Eater but delves more into the God and Goddess sort of world. It's super enjoyable though!

Yona of the Dawn is really good! I've only read the manga because I haven't found the time to start the anime. But so far, it's really interesting! There's a small bit of romance, but it doesn't hold a major importance to the plot. I highly recommend it! ^^
And I agree, animes that have too much romance can be super off-putting. Not everything is about love, y'know?

His eyes surveyed the familiar stairs, the location in an alley, the steps leading down to a numerous amount of passageways. In the end, those tunnels would eventually lead to Home. He almost hummed in content at the idea of returning to the place where he had originated, where his new life began. Of course, he couldn't do that. Making some sort of noise in recognition at the stairs could definitely compromise his entire mission. Xzavier didn't know how He would react if he screwed up, probably something along the lines of torture and the like. Just thinking about it almost sent a shudder down his spine and he forced himself to get rid of those thoughts.

It didn't work.

His mind quickly transported him to twelve years ago, when Xzavier was barely six years old. His parents had recently died in a freak accident, the cause unknown. He had a little brother, Jaxen, four years old. The two of them were sent to an orphanage after the funeral. None of their living relatives had any desire to take care of both of them. There, they were separated in a matter of weeks. Jaxen was taken immediately, leaving Xzavier behind. It didn't bother him as much as it probably should have, seeing as how his brother didn't like Xzavier all that much. Called him a "freak" whenever he had the chance. Could you imagine? A four year old calling someone else a freak?

And besides, no one was going to adopt a six year old with piercing, glowing, golden eyes. He was deemed as a lost cause just by his appearance. Plus, Xzavier caused so much mischief that he was difficult to handle and he often found himself roaming the streets. That was how he met Him on a rainy, miserable day.

In a way, meeting Him wasn't so bad. He accepted Xzavier for who he was, didn't call him a freak, gave him a place to call Home. In return, all Xzavier had to do was allow Him to run some tests (that were quite painful but he never complained) and carry out Missions when ordered. If Xzavier didn't comply, punishment was in order. Those were quite traumatizing. He had contemplated fleeing quite a lot, but always brushed those thoughts away. He had given Xzavier an entire new lifestyle, he should be grateful.

So when his new Mission came along, he didn't think much of it. Go undercover, get data, pretend to be someone he wasn't; it was all quite simple.

Pinching himself and finally removing from himself from his mind, he glanced over at his partner. He secretly hoped she didn't notice that his mind had wandered and he hadn't moved at all in the past few moments. By the look on her face, nope. She was still looking at the stairway. He inwardly breathed a sigh of relief, cracking his neck as his muscles released the tension that had been building up.

Jumping down onto one of the steps, his leather boots barely made any noise as he landed. He turned towards her, his pointed canines glinting as he shot her an arrogant grin. The only thing that made a soft sound were the necklaces and bracelets that bounced against his skin, the ones that also made an appearance on his Weapon form.

"Ready?" He questioned, tilting his head to the side as he waited for her to follow.
