Lionpaw and Icepaw scrambled up after tehir mother was pulled ashore, Lionpaw helping to drag her up, then sitting aside, taking in deep breaths of air, as the medicine cat came up. Both he and Icepaw where shaking, and Icepaw bent his face over Quietwillow's. She was still alive, but didn't appear to be doing much breathing. ( By the way she'll live she's just swallowed too much water. Pretty sure everyoen knew this but just saying.  ) |

"That was quiet a storm" Erminetail stated as he tried and failed to fluff up his fur. "I hope the clan is okay" he sighed.
Flurrypaw stepped back, her eyes wide with concern.

"Yea, me too..." Sparrowpaw said with a sigh.
Sunpaw nodded to her brother as he joined her beside Quietwillow's muzzle. She waited for Mooneye's instruction

Sunpaw began blowing a steady stream of air into her mothers' mouth.
(fun fact, in cats and dogs, you blow into their nose because the mouth doesn't have a direct line to the lungs or something like that)

OCC: I learned animal CPR in my vet classes in high school but its been a few years since i was in the class thats why i said nose earlier then switched to mouth. I have to grab/fold laundry so i may poof for a moment.

I only learned for like five minutes in an hour long class a few years ago. I don't really remember for cats but I know for dogs it's through the nose. kind of cool)

Quietwillow was still for a moment but let out a slight choking sound, water bubbling from her mouth as she awake slightly and tried to breathe, but ended up coughing and spluttering.
"She's breathing!" Lionpaw shouted loudly, causing Icepaw to flinch as his elder brother's voice went straight into his sensitive ears.

Sunpaw leaped back from the cough and splurge of water coming from her mother. "She's breathing!" she yelped happily

Erminetail lifted his head, trying to seem optimistic. "I'm sure everyone is okay, they all have each other" there was a hint of uncertainty in his voice as though he was trying to convince himself that.
Boldpaw slowly rose to his paws and fluffed out his fur. "Thank Starclan" he sighed.

Sparrowpaw only answered Erminetail with a snort. She didn't want to admit to him that she was scared and she certainly didn't want to admit that there was a big ball of uncertain fear in her stomach. Something bad had happened but she didn't know what it was or what do to about it.

Pinepaw takes a moment to catch his breath. He flicked his ear back and forth feeling rather tired and a little stressed. There was still so much to do!

Pumpkinstripe shook his thick orange pelt, spraying water all around while looking like a hedgehog. "We should find shelter." He suggested to no one in particular. "That way, the injured cats can rest."

"Slit up into teams?" Foxtail suggested, looking weary as he sat by the group, his bushy tail looking scraggly and almost thin it was so soaked. He shook out his fur, making Crowhisper shoot him a look of disgust.
"Teams to search for missing cats and a few to take shelter as Pumpkinstripe suggested." Fernbreeze mewed, turning to look back at them. She noticed Pinepaw not far off and called. "Pinepaw! Your alright... we're short of several apprentices, come here."
Ravevnheart meanwhile had noticed some splashing sounds and Mooneyes hurrying over. He trailed towards it in his limping way, a sat a little bit away from them. He breathed a sigh of relief as Quietwillow sat up slightly, her eyes looking heavy and water still dribbling from her mouth, but she was alive! "Fernbreeze! Your daughter and her kits are safe!" He called back to the group as he limped back to them. Fernbreeze quickly went over, leaving Ravenheart to wait for Pinepaw's response.
Quietwillow was still gasping and lay her head down, while Lionpaw let out a long series of shaky purrs and began to lick her forehead, and Icepaw gave her a muzzle and said in a low, shaken voice. "Your alright... alright."

"I'll take the first watch," Pumpkinstripe offered, nodding to Fernbreeze in acknowledgement. "Any ideas where we can take the injured cats?"

"The ground gets higher just outside camp, a bit nearer towards the border." Ravenheart suggested. "Provided the rest of the forest isn't too flooded we can slowly make our way uphill."
"Or the trees." Foxtail added, disliking the idea of treading through mud and deep water anymore than he already have.
"A few injured cats can't climb." Ravenheart pointed out, frowning.

Icepaw moved a bit closer to Sunpaw, a shiver running through him. He wasn't going to admit aloud he was frightened, but he was still very shaken and felt he needed to stop, take a breather and rest, even if it was nearby the swirling water and he was sopping wet.
Quietwillow moved to survey her kits, her eyes looking disoriented and foggy, but he breathing already strengthening as she took in deep breaths. Counting her kits she smiled softly, seeing her whole youngest litter was there, as well as her mother Fernbreeze, who hovered alongside them like an angry, bushy bird of prey, but didn't speak. Quietwillow let out a small cough, and cleared her throat, and nuzzle both Sunpaw and Icepaw, but she didn't say anything, she was too tired to.

Sunpaw gave a soft sigh, glad her family was together and safe. She closed her eyes, wanting to drift to sleep for a little while until the exhaustion stopped weighing so heavy on her limbs

Flurrypaw slowly padded over to Quietwillow and her littermates before and tucking herself up next to them. She rested her chin on her sister’s back wearily.
After a few moments of hesitation, Boldpaw slowly joined his kin and lay down next to Icepaw. Everything will be okay now, he told himself before closing his eyes.

If something is worrying you please tell me, he wanted to say to her but restrained himself. He was fully aware of Sparrowpaw's hostility towards him and he knew saying that would only make it worse. "We'll be home before you know it and we'll be able to see our family again" he tried to sound optimistic but instantly wondered if he has chosen the wrong words. |

Lionpaw lay down near the others as well, letting out a long breath. He was exhausted! He wanted to curl up somewhere warm and dry, but there probably wasn't a warm and dry place anywhere nearby.
