It didn't take them long to reach it, and soon Ashtail found himself stepping over pine needles, enjoying it immensely as it recalled to mind the forests of home. He slowed his pace and smile back at Sandpebble, finding a slightly rocky area and making his way down it to lower ground. "I wonder if the trees are like clans." He mused. "Sometimes they grow a bit mixed... like Nightglisten living with OakClan. But often you find pines and oaks keeping to their own little bunches, like cedars, and poplars, and all the rest. If they get relocated... I mean I can't picture that happening to a tree, but if they do... you think they'd be lonely?"

"Mmm daisy leaves?" Pinepaw said though he wasn't for sure. He knew most herbs but there were a few he still has trouble remembering them.

Burntember laughed. "Raising those two has been the greatest adventure in my life," she said, purring warmly. She blushed at the last commment and said, "I'd love to take adventures with you someday." "Me too!" Sunkit said, "Someone kicked me in the face last night and it wasn't even you that time!" Erminetail's eyes shone at Burntember's words. He continued to walk in silence for a while, occasionally glancing up towards the sky. "We're almost at the base of the mountain" he stated. "It's way too cramped!" Boldkit swished his tail in frustration. "It will be weird having our own nests though" he couldn't work out if he was happy or sad about this, he was so used to curling up with his littermates and mother. |

Nightglisten was distracted and nearly ran into Wildmist, but drew back, emerging from the bushes and starting slightly as he faced her. Wildmist felt awkward, wondering why he was simply just staring. "Er... Hello there?" |

"Don't even think about it," she said, giggling Palekit looked at her siblings and back at her father. "How come we couldn't be outside before?" "Because you're so young and little," Timberstone mewed, "we were worried. You and your siblings were born early so there were risks and we wanted to make sure you were absolutely ready to be outside." "Yeaaahhh probably. But one never knows." (Hey fun fact, rocks that are bigger than boulders are called bombs. I don't know why but I find it amusing.) |

"... Uh, cats. Gather? Well, I don't know it it'll be different here, but I hear they used to be huge gatherings! The clans would have a meeting between leaders, but also events and challenges and games, and sometimes outsiders were invited - or, in earlier days they were. I was never at one of those... things changed as TimberClan and PineClan's tensions rose, but as an apprentice I attended a few gatherings that had a few games and casual talk between everyone." Ashtail responded, a mix of emotions on his face as he spoke, and moved to hurry onward, hoping to venture deeper into the forest.
