"Thank you for the offer of soneone in your pack helping but I think I will manage. Thank you again Inara." Amanda said before she bowed her head goodbye before she shifted into her ginger wolf. She heard a few gasps when they saw the color of her fur but she ignored those as she padded out of the meeting hall her fur glisten whenever it hit the lites as she walked out. The scar on her ack was old but not deep enough that it could cause infection. To others it may seem to be a regular scratch but in truth it was a scar that was given to her by her elder brother before she was chased off. As she gout out into the moinlight her fur started to shimmer in the moonlight before she ran t her destination.

Simon let out a low growl towards Marco, his own teeth elongating as the other challenged his sister. He made a move towards the other, before realizing the bad idea and backed off, his eyes a yellow as he glared at the other man but remained silent.
The other wolf was too reckless, in Simons opinion. After what had happened a few months ago he'd become cautious, exceedingly so, too scared to make any moves that could endanger himself, and now the pack. But he said nothing, instead resorting to shooting him a death glare, waiting for Inara to end the meeting. He was planning on saying something to the other man later on.

Inara watched Amanda leave with a mild interest. The ginger pelt was odd, yes, but not unheard of. She could feel Layla's interest and her eyes on Inara. The two were wondering the same thing. Though Inara would bet Layla was far more interested. After all, the Ethiopian wolf shift was uncommon, but the pelt matched the ticket. Layla was probably wondering if Amanda was a descendent of her old pack. Inara hoped the women wouldn't run after the loner.
In an interest to not be in front of everyone anymore, Inara ended the meeting. "That is all. If you have any questions not about the healers group, please come to me or...me." Her ears turned a little red at the slight slip. Now everyone knew she was remembering the words spoken by the old alpha. The old alpha who actually had a beta and wasn't putting off choosing one. She nodded, "Yeah, that is it."
Inara watched everyone flood out of the room but stayed put. She would leave when most of them were gone.

Truth be told Amanda was part Ethiopian a trait that she had gotten from her mother's side of the family. When Amanda reached her destination she immediately started to make herself a den. She chose a spot near the water to make her den.

Nice characters Mountain. Is it okay if I call you Mountain/what nicknames do you prefer? I shall add your characters soon-ish. ) {Yeah, sure! I'm pretty chill about nicknames, usually I go by Dew cuz it's shortest. And no worries, I might tweak their forms a bit, because right now they're pretty rough.}

Simon glanced at his sister, waiting for a few moments just to make sure she was alright. He knew she was embarrassed by the slip up, another reminder of how she had yet to actually choose a beta, no doubt a failure in her eyes. Of course it was important to have one, Simon was well aware of that but she needed to be careful of who, exactly she chose because they needed a certain quality that he couldn't see in many of their packmates. It was a difficult decision, and Simon could see that. The dark haired teen sighed before searching for Marco.
That little dyed red head wasn't going to get away with challenging his sister like that. A surge of protectiveness washed over him, scowling angrily as he limped his way over to the other male, catching himself and turning his face blank. He'd have to be careful, not come off as too aggressive. Just like that his old Beta training kicked in.

Marco made no move to get up. He watched as the others left, observing how they acted and looked. Most seemed to have accepted the alpha's words. A few actually seemed discontent, though none stayed to question the alpha. Marco sighed, which came out to be more of a huff. Needless to say, he was going to have trouble finding anyone who was willing to do something against the alpha's ideals.
A scent caught his attention and he turned to see Simon walking up to him. First, he scanned the male for any signs of aggression. None appears to be written on the male's form. Then again, Simon wasn't showing much. Marco stiffened and stood up. He put on his best attempt at a cool and collected mask, but his eyes were still lit with the spark of a challenge.
"Simon." He greeted as the male approached. No wolfish features were evident on Marco's body, but he could feel the itch rising. His instinct told him to change and roll over. Old habits die hard.
---
Layla was one of the first out of the meeting room. Normally, she would have stayed to offer a snack, but she couldn't get the ginger furred loner out of her mind. It had been too long since she had seen someone with her own wolf. Of course, she could be projecting. It wasn't impossible for another breed to have ginger fur. It just felt like years since she had found another like her. She loved the pack, but she couldn't fight the longing to connect with her roots.
The women gingerly walked through the woods. Something snapped or crackled when she took a step. There was a couple times when she made an ungrateful slip. She was following the scent of the loner, but it wasn't easy going. Layla wasn't much of an outdoor person. She had never been one to walk through the woods. She preferred a nice night out in the town than tripping and stumbling around the woods.
Still, she made it to the grove. "Amanda?" She called. It had occurred to her that Amanda may have not chosen to settle here and had left. Layla was hoping this was not the case.

One of the youngest pack members, Alexis had spent the meeting tucked away into the corner of the room. Hunched slightly over with her arms crossed in front of her, she remained silent throughout the meeting.
In theory, that was a good thing. Still officially considered a child by the pack, her opinion did not account to much. Except that when it came to Alexis, silence was not a good sign. Usually the trick was to get the talkative teenager to shut up.
Bright blue eyes followed the discussion, flickering to each pack member as they spoke. The tension rolling off of them was so thick it seemed as if she could taste it. She didn't like it when everyone was like this.

"Marco." He greeted, although the sound of his voice made it sound as if he were unsure what he was supposed to be doing, actually. In his mind it was going to be easy walking up and ripping the younger male a new one. But once he actually made it up to the other his usual fear of challenging someone came up, his discomfort with the other pack members. He still wanted to cower, even with someone smaller than him like Marco. But he didn't. Instead he leaned on the crutches, his blue eyes light with a mixture of curiousity and a challenge, his face a mask his father had taught him .
"Want to explain to me why you challenged our alpha in front of everyone?" He finally asked quietly, making the conversation between the two of them, kicking himself internally for the awkward question. He was never good with confrontation, and even know there wasn't an ounce of aggression or strength in the small males skinny body.

Amanda had sticked her head out of her den and her ear twitched before she spoke. "What's up Layla?"she asked before she shook her fur since her head was covered with sticks.

Marco cracked smiled as Simon spoke. It was more amusing than anything else to speak to his awkward packmate. Simon might have the scary look down pat, but he still only had three limbs. Marco was sure he could defend himself, if needed. Though, he doubted it would come to this. After all, they were just two pack members talking. No danger there.
Marco shrugged. "I was sharing my view. Isn't this the point of these meetings?" The male answered steady. "I shared my opinion; she struck me down. I backed away. I don't see the issue. It was civil." Marco saw these words as the complete truth. Sure, his body language might have seemed the opposite, but to be fair, it was hard to relax with the ransid scent of the rogues circling the room.
---
Layla watched the female emerge from the den with a slightly pained face. Her ginger fur was the similar shade of many of her brothers and sisters. It was also like seeing one of them crawl out of their den and greet her. She smiled without realizing.
"Hello Amanda. This might sound odd, but do you know where your parents came from? Who they were." She asked. She didn't want to outright ask. She felt like that would upset or cause distrust somehow.

"I don't know, Marco, it seemed to be a bit more than just sharing your opinion," Simon responded, looking unamused at the smile that the other cracked. He might only have three limbs but he could take the guy, Simon had the tendency to fight dirty anyways.
"I'm just saying, even if you want to share your opinion, make sure you're respectful about it. She's still an alpha. She's still you're alpha. " he added, narrowinghis eyes for a moment before catching himself and studying the smaller male quietly.

Marco's smile dropped and he frowned at Simon. The first part Marco knew it be the truth. He had been tense. He had snapped a little at Inara. Did he regret it? He wasn't sure. Marco wasn't sure if he would have been heard if he would have remained completely calm. It was whoever had the most power when they spoke, that decided who would be heard in his old pack.
The alpha comment did not sit well with the male. A sour taste filled his mouth and he had to force himself not to growl. He knew what showing respect meant. It meant he was suppose to sit down and shut his mouth. He wanted to take a step back, but forced himself to look up at the teen and stand his ground. "I think we are equals, given not under the full moon. She may be the alpha, but I will question her actions, if I think it will help the pack. I will not back down because of an arbitrary ranking." He looked Simon in the eye as he spoke. A hint of venom entered his words despite his attempt at self control.
---
Layla smiled softly when Amanda answered her. She held back all the questions she longed to answer. As much as she wanted to find out if the girl was related to her pack, she didn't want to ruin this. She sighed to calm herself and came back with a straight face.
"I was wondering how your fur was ginger. My form is ginger as well. I was just wondering if your mother might have come from my old pack. It is a long shot, they are far away, but...yup. Just an odd hope." She admitted.

After the meeting had ended, Jay got up and walked over to Alex, nodding to her and bending down some in submission. "Hello Alpha. Is there any way I can help you right now?" He wanted to help but he didn't want to seem pushy.

"Mom rarely ever talked about her pack in Ethiopia. The only questions she would answer whenever me or my brother asked were what the name of the pack and how big it was." Amanda explained as she came out of her half finished den and shook her fur of the sticks and dirt stuck in her fur.

"I'm not saying to not voice your concerns, Marco. I'm just saying to be more respectful," at that his voice sharpened slightly. His blue eyes glinted at the hint of venom in the others voice, but that flash was gone when he remembered his place and he glanced away, letting out a soft sigh.
"You're voice will be heard here, but it might be heard better if you try to speak calmly," he added, trying his best to be as nice as he could. He didn't know what Marcos past was, but it clearly shaped his opinions on ranking. Perhaps they had a stronger alpha figure, one that wasn't new to the position. It could be very well the reason why he showed little respect in this situation. The teen shifted on his crutches, a tired look on his face before he covered it and offered him a half smile, clearly not wanting to fight. In any other pack he'd be an omega, especially considering how submissive his personality seemed to be and he was well aware of that fact.

Sentries. More healers. Cameras.
A fight.
The pack had many different ideas about how to deal with the rogues.
Yet...
No one had suggested talking to them.
But maybe Alexis was the foolish one for thinking that they should try and talk to the rogues. Did they even have enough human left in them communicate that way?
It was not pacifism that had lead Alexis' thoughts this way. It was something much more selfish.
A fluttering hope that the rogue pack knew something, anything of the location of her father.
Most of the pack had left the room. Inara was still dealing with the questions of a couple stragglers. Alexis could wait to talk to her.
Instead, she focused on the growing tension between Marco and Simon. She was not exactly sure what they were disagreeing about in hushed voices, but she had a good guess. Two of the least intimidating members of the pack trying to be intimidating. It was pitiful. And highly comical.
Oops. Alexis' hand shot up to her mouth to muffle her laugh, but it was too late. Err. That was awkward. Hopefully they hadn't noticed that.
Just because Alexis didn't think either of them were scary didn't mean she wanted them mad at her.
{No worries Zero, you're good.}

Inara shook her head. Titles were ridiculous. It only served to make her feel inadequate. Apparently, Marco had a larger influence than she had thought. Now, she knew she had to talk to the male. A small glance revealed the troublemaker was currently occupied by her brother. She couldn't help but to crack a smile. Their faces showed hostility, but she still saw that Simon was talking to another member. She doubted they would fight for long.
"No need to call me alpha. Inara is really fine." She said, still wearing her small smile. She looked around. There was little she could think of for work. Healing was being taken care of by Hazel and the cameras were under Alex's list. "I guess you can go on watch. I'll head out as well." She said. She would feel a bit bad sending him out all by himself. She wouldn't be the best of company, but she was good at listening.
---
Layla nodded. Her pack was from Ethiopia originally. Generations ago, they left. The reason was lost to many. Only the alpha truly knew why: Right now, they were settled in upper state of New York. She doubted they could be from the same pack. It was really too good to be true. Still, she didn't want to leave. It might be odd, but she considered Amanda a fragment of her past. It might be far fetched, but a fragment was a fragment. "So, what was the name of your mother's pack? I might recognize it." She inquired.
---
Marco sighed and ran his fingers through his hair. He was starting to feel a bit like a child being scolding. The silent disappointment practically radiated off of Simon. "Okay. Got it." Marco said with a short nod. He was done struggling against Simon's wishes. It was hard fighting the puppy dog face.
He turned when he heard a tiny giggle. He blinked when he spotted the pack's pup giggling behind her hand at them. He shot a quick smile to Simon. Their act may have been a bit foolish. Marco will stand by his beliefs until the end, but he knew he could get intense and he wasn't really an imposing figure. Marco will blame it entirely on the tension and scent swirling around the room.
"Should we grab a snack?" He suggested. He knew someone had gotten ice cream cones on the latest trip. He was dying to try some. Plus, it seemed like something everyone would like.

He straightened up and then nodded, gently holding out his hand for comfort. "Don't worry Inara, we're in all this together. You, me, your brother, and the entire pack will fight to our fullest." He said, beginning to walk towards the stairs leading to the upper deck. He wanted to make Inara feel better but he didn't want to seem pushy or harsh.

("Puppy dog face" oh my goodness XD)
Simon relaxed a little, even though the agreement to his comment seemed half hearted. Really, Marco wasn't too bad. Just stubborn and stuck with his beliefs. Simon had to constantly remind himself of that, just in case the smaller wolf said something that Simon didn't agree with at all, or acted out in a manner that he found inappropriate.
Of course the dark haired teen heard the giggle and he glanced over, seeing Alexis giggle and he raised an eyebrow at her. It wasn't anything intimidating, if anything there was an amused expression when he glanced over at the pup. He then turned back to his other packmate, looking almost sheepish before brightening at the suggestion of food.
"Yeah, sure! We could go get a snack, what were you thinking of?" He asked, perhaps a tad bit too eagerly. He was still trying to fit back into the pack again, and this was the first instance where anyone actually invited him to do something.

"She said it was the yet͟s’eḥāyi mewich’a t’ik’ili which is the Sunrise Pack if I remember correctly." Amanda said speaking the native language of Ethiopia almost perfectly. "She rarely talked about the pack or any neighboring packs." Amanda added before she sighed and looked up at the sky. "Sometimes I still think about her and my dad even though they didn't love me because of the law of my old pack." She added with a sad sigh. "If only I was faster then him then maybe I would've been able to save them." She mumbled to herself.

Inara sighed. She doubted everyone was with her. She could name a couple people who didn't agree with her methods. Fighting to the fullest wasn't exactly her worry. She really didn't want people to fight. She knew they had to but she didn't want to. She was already looking for some way to get around her problems. However, his words helped a bit. At least she still had someone's support. She relaxed once they reached the balcony. The fresh air did wonders for her heavy heart. She felt herself smiling as the breeze ruffled her hair. She sat down at the balcony with her feet dangling off the edge. She didn't think they would come back after such a short time, but she kept her eyes on the horizon. She then remembered Jay was there as well. "So, anything new? Not including today, I mean. I think everyone knows about today." She said with a nervous joke added in.
---
Marco pretended to look thoughtful as if he didn't have his eyes on the delicious chocolate covered vanilla ice cream cones. He grinned when he thought about the sweet. Okay, maybe he had been thinking about them before some people rudely broke in. Maybe he had been going to get one. Needless to say, the scent of rogues left him without a snack and a nasty attitude. "Why don't we try the ice cream in the freezer?" He suggested.
---
Layla frowned slightly. She had never heard of such a pack. Her lacking knowledge about her history and language didn't help either. She just never thought it would be useful to learn her ancestors' language. After all, it was never used at school or at home. So, Layla found herself at a loss of what to say or do with Amanda. She had offered to hear the girl out. Now she wasn't sure what she should do. She reached out and lightly touched the girl's shoulder. "Sorry." She said.

Jay smiled and chuckled as he sat beside her, legs crisscrossed beneath him. "Yeah I should think everyone knows about today." He said as he scanned the horizon as well. "And a couple things are new. My brother got a small promotion at work and I fixed some of the creaky doors here." He said

Inara brightened up at the news. Both were good, though she was more excited by the doors. Staying up late was always stressful with every door she opened creaking. She was always afraid of waking someone up and then having to explain why she was walking around in the dark. She wasn't ready for the conversation. "Great. Those doors really did need fixing." She said. Sure, they had been on her list, but it was something low on her list. They weren't urgent or posed any danger. The only danger they posed was to her pride. "Your brother's promotion is also great. Tell him congrats for me." She looked at the chickens. They were currently running away from the pack member who was trying to herd them. She snorted. No one wanted to herd the chickens and the ones who did usually were forced into it. "Poor guy." She muttered.
