[ SO SORRY I HAVEN'T BEEN ON. CRAZY HECTIC WEEK >.< ] hazel ruth janna Hazel hadn't said anything, too alert to the other members of the rogues to notice Alex's appearance. She finally relaxed when she saw them retreat, gaze turning more hazel by the minute as she glanced over, eyes widening in recognition, a friendly smile working onto her features, the anxiety mostly gone.
"Oh, hullo Alex!" she greeted, continuing to walk beside Layla, now sandwiched between her pack members. In all honesty, it did make her feel a little safer having Alex here, now making them a larger group of four. After all, she knew the other group wouldn't hesitate to attack if it had been simply her alone, and maybe even if she was only with Layla. She just prayed they hadn't realized she was the Healer...otherwise, they'd probably come back, not caring who was with her (or who wasn't). She was distracted from her relief at Amanda's comment, eyebrows furrowing together in confusion, a slight look of amusement gracing her features as she glanced over at Amanda.
"Your wolf's name is Piper?" she inquired, gaze softening into curiosity. She'd never met anyone who named their wolf form a different name. Of course, she'd never really met anyone from another pack (former member or not). She'd lived a pretty secluded life here since she was a valued member, and her mother had instilled her a sense of solitude so she would be content staying here for, well, forever. Hazel glanced up as Layla spoke, nodding in agreement, mind trailing on the same track as hers. "Yeah, after would probably be best," she agreed, praying silently that Amanda might forget until they were a ways back into their territory again.
Once they entered the Supermarket, Hazel relaxed fully, grabbing a cart and producing a list from her purse. "Alright, first thing on the list is some strawberries for Amanda, and then some other fruits for the house," she said, smiling widely now, looking her usual cheerful and tranquil self.

Inara hummed as she thought. She couldn't think of anything. Layla always took a liking to new, bright things, but Inara doubted it was necessary to get anything. "I think you can just ask." She said with amusement painted in her voice. It probably would work, fifty-fifty chance Inara figured. It would just be amusing to see Simon go up to Layla and ask. She could see Layla already scrutinizing the male. To avoid stress, she decided to give some advice. "But," she said dragging out the word, "if you want to be sure, I would set the table and bring up the idea after the meal. She may not like help in the kitchen, but she loves help setting. If you want to go the extra mile, promise her the first taste."

I was thinking we could skip the shopping, unless someone had something planed. I was thinking of adding some kind of warning from the rogues. Maybe their scent could be covering the pack house? Just as a power move. I dunno if anyone wants real conflict right now. )

Simon bit his lip at the thought of actually asking the cook to use the kitchen. So, of course, when she offered a suggestion he listened with wide eyes, just like he used to when they were kids. He clung onto just about every word, nodding eagerly at the suggestion. Setting the table was a great idea, it'd get her in a good mood to ask her to use her precious kitchen for his own uses. "Oh, that's a great idea! When should I set up the table?" He asked, usually not downstairs while the others set up the table.

Inara tried to hide her pride under the rapt attention her brother was giving her. She loved being the dependable sister, who Simon looked up to. She had missed this. Of course, that had not been the only thing she had missed, but definitely one of the many. She again hummed thoughtfully. Really, she hadn't been around when Layla set the table. She usually was doing something else. "I think any time she is cooking would be fine. Just poke your head in and tell her." She said with a nod.

Inara took a couple of steadying deep breaths. Her eyes remained closed and breaths even. For each breath, her thoughts became more collected and her body relaxed. She still stood rigid at the dining room table, now serving as the meeting table. The only thing keeping her stable were the breathing exercises and the warm cup of tea she was currently nursing. She would have normally gone with hot chocolate, but Layla had made her some tea. Inara was too stressed to deny anything and too worried about upsetting the women further. Too much had happened for the young alpha. Too quickly had everything happened.
Just an hour ago, yet it felt like seconds, she heard a familiar howl calling her back. It was the howl of distress and demanded a response. Inara had changed without a thought and ran. She had ignored the branches whipping her sides and the stones piercing her pads as she ran toward the call. What she found was the pack house, standing as it always did, but with the heavy, thick scent of rogues covering both the inside and out. She nearly gagged at the intrusive scent, which almost completely covered the pack scent. Nothing appeared to be broken or stolen, besides a couple of small things, so Inara assumed this was the rogues way to show they weren't afraid of the pack and were tired of waiting. They wanted to rile the pack up. And rile the pack up they did. The meeting room's air was thick with irration and hints of anticipation. They clearly expected Inara to charge in and teach the intruders a lesson.
Yet, fear still tainted the air. As more and more of the pack filled to the meeting room and adjacent rooms, the more mixed the scents became. It was almost too much to take. Someone was going to snap if she didn't do something. She opened her eyes slowly and took a long, shaky sigh as she gathered her strength. Her eyes stayed fixed on her mug. They looked slightly watery, a sign of stress and just how upset the alpha was. A slight frown was clear on her face. Normal pack meetings were a struggle. Pack meetings after something traumatic, forget struggle, they were chaotic. Inara knew she would have to get some kind of control on them. She stood up. She looked up to meet the eyes of her fellows. All evidence of her internal struggle was gone. Her eyes were clear and hard. "For those of you who have not heard, nor have a sense of smell, the rogues have visited us." She stopped for a slight second. "They will never be happy with just staying separate. They will continue to be a threat until they control us or we chase them away. However, the latter would be difficult. We aren't large in number. We have one healer and, as talented as she is, she can't help everyone. Now, the question is how we fight them. Protection should be our first priority. The rogues might hurt someone next time. I think we should have a small set of people to act as guards or watchmen. They can warn the pack about incoming intruders." She waited for the others.

Alex and Jay were sitting at the table, Jay almost beside his Alpha, and he chimed in some. "Then we do it. Put up watchmen and protect our home. Maybe we need to get firearms, show our strength and our ability to defend ourselves." He said, looking up at his alpha. "I'm all I. For that idea, and I can help build whatever is needed.
Next Alex chimed in. "I can get some security cameras and such, given the right amount of time. For cheap too, yet they'll be powerful enough to detect threats." He added with a small shrug.

"Why don't we train some of the ones who can't fight some basic first aide? I mean, not that medicine is the only thing that they can do, or that healing is just a last resort for those who can't fight, but right now wouldn't it be better to have more people who know how to patch up others? Or teach everyone at least field first aid?" Simon suggested hesitantly. He'd been standing quietly in the back of the room, hating how many pack members were in it. He glanced around, biting his lip nervously. "I mean, just in case a fight goes down," he added, unsure if he was actually contributing or not.

[ HELLO LOVELIES, I APOLOGIZE FOR MY SLIGHT HIATUS <3 ]hazel ruth janna Hazel was sitting on a cushioned chair to the left of Inara, a small blanket draped around the shaking girl's shoulders. She was holding her own cup of tea, praising whatever gods might be that Layla was able to stay calm enough to get them all tea to calm themselves. The lavender was soothing, but the girl was still jittery and her eyes were still a brilliant shade of blue, flickering rapidly around the room, unable to bring herself to drink more than a sip at a time.
She listened intently to Inara's words, forcing herself to take another sip, before her gaze flickered to the brothers, grateful for their support. Before she could voice her appreciation at their quick thinking and eagerness to hop on board, her flighty thoughts were quickly distracted by Simon piping up from the back. She nodded along to his statements, starting to calm some now that a plan was formulating, although her canines were prominent and ears still highly pointed.
"I think that's a fantastic idea Simon, and I'd be more than happy to get a group assembled and give them a brief run down of basic first aid, just so it's a little...safer if I'm unavailable for some reason," she added, swallowing slightly at the thought. She was more than aware of the danger presented to her, for an attack would likely have her as a key target. Healers had a high price on their heads. She paled slightly at the thought, ears pressing back as the blue in her gaze sharpened, looking to Inara to see what she thought.

Relief flooded through Inara when the brothers spoke up. She had to hold back a sigh. Instead, she gave a quick nod to those who spoke. She tried to remain straight faced in an effort to appear more in control. She did add a small smile to when Simon spoke. She expected her brother to remain quiet throughout the proceedings. She was proud that he spoke out and knew this would make a difference.
She carefully mulled over the comments. Firearms were too noticeable to the public. If anyone visited, they would be quick to notice the weapons. It might scare away some and make the town distrusting. Inara was more worried about scaring away potential pack members. Plus, she was worried about the danger of weapons. Many people think they can do too much when they get their hands on a gun. She didn't want some to try to fight the rogues on their own.
Cameras and medical training seemed like logical steps. Cameras would be perfect for night. They could also catch what the watchmen don't. Again, she was nervous about scaring off others, but it wasn't too unusual to have cameras. The medical training, she figured, could be taken by everyone. She would start with the weaker members, but even the strongest should know how to stop blood, just in case.
"Cameras sounds like a good idea. We will still have one of two people watching the front, but another can keep their eyes on the cameras. I don't know if it is standard, but please make sure they have night vision." She looked away from Alex and to the group. She was glad the healer had agreed to the plan when she was thinking. "Whoever is willing, please talk to Hazel. I would like it if most members learned the basics and to keep our healer a little less stressed, so please spread the knowledge after being taught."
Inara relaxed a fraction before a voice spoke up.
"Why don't we attack the filth?" Marco said, a growl clearly in his tone. "They are going to continue to toy with us until we bite back. Someone might be hurt next time, alpha." The male stared at the alpha without a hint of fear or regret. He looked slightly feral with long protruding canines and a wild amber leaking into his blue eyes. His elongated nails taped the arm rest on his chair. As others leaned away from him, he stayed in his chair, relaxed, and calmly stared at the alpha. It wasn't a challenge, but Marco wasn't going to easily budge.
Inara's eyes flared gold but disappeared a second later. She could hear the mummers trailing around her. Mixed, but they could be turned from the wrong comment.
( ahhh so sorry this is so long. Happy to see that everyone is here tho!)

hazel ruth janna Hazel nodded in agreement with Inara, offering a nervous, somewhat relieved smile in an attempt to appear less intimidating. People thought being a Healer meant being hardcore and intense, but it honestly just stemmed from a desire to help others. She knew that the more educated their pack was, the stronger they would be. She began planning lessons in her head, knowing she would have to get started right away. She was just starting to calm down when Marcus piped up from the back.
Gosh, Hazel disliked insolence.
Unable to curb her slight temper flare, a low growl emanated from Hazel, gaze sharpening and teeth elongating even more. She sat up a little, hands steadying, eyes flashing to Marcus with a look of furious disgust. "How dare you question Inara like that! You know just as well as anyone that we can't risk that! Our pack is small enough already, and I'm only one person. An attack would be stupid, and too many people would get injured, and-and-" she broke off, face contorting slightly with pain.
"I don't know about you, but I can't bear the thought of losing anymore of this family," she lowered her voice, anger sifting with pain. It was hard enough knowing former members of their pack, their family, were walking around and could be suffering this very moment. She didn't want to lose anyone else, not if she could help fight it.
She held his gaze steadily, some of the anger diminished, though her gaze was just as sharp and protective as ever. Hazel may generally be soft spoken and a little gentler than most, but she never wavered when it came to respect or loyalty, or if it meant one of the pack's members' lives were on the line.

Alex nodded and instantly took some notes from what Inara said then jolted as Hazel stood up and shouted at Marco. Soon Jay chimed in and Alex stared at him dumbfounded.
"That's right. We can't afford to lose anyone else. That approach would just scare everyone around and no one would ever trust this pack again, whether they are werewolves or not. Being on the defensive and aggressive as needed is a better approach and less adversarial." He said.
Alex cocked an eyebrow. "Didn't you want guns?"
Jay waved s hand at hi to shut hi. Up. "For a show of force. Only a show." He replied.

{I got another character as well, but I thought I would post these two to start.}
Alexis Harulf - Female(she/her) - 14 - pup Alexis is a pretty happy go lucky kid. She talks a lot, and loudly. Ever the social butterfly, she’s usually following around some poor member of the pack each day, their shadowing kid sister. Alexis was raised by the pack since she was eight years old. She has a fear of abandonment. As a girl, Alexis is thin and gangly. Her long pale legs are often patterned with various purple and green bruises, she just had a growth spurt and her mind has not caught up with her body. Alexis had very long hair when she was younger but recently cut it to a length just past her shoulder blades, where it softly curls. Her most striking feature is her eyes, which are wide and a pale but vivid blue. Her eyes are pretty, but overpower the rest of her facial features (thin lips, a small nose and high cheekbones.) Much to her chagrin, Alexis is almost completely lacking in the curve department, but she is also still very young and that will change within a couple of years. As a wolf, Alexis is still thin and gangly. Her coat is a light silver. She is small and obviously still a juvenile. Her electric blue eyes become even more piercing when she is a wolf. It is not unheard of for pups to have blue eyes, but someone with keen eyes and deep knowledge of werewolves will likely suspect that her eyes will never fade from blue. Alexis is a half-breed. Her father, Jack was a werewolf who had left the pack to live with a human. When Alexis was eight, her mother died and her father abandoned her with the pack without a word before disappearing. Alexis has been told her mother died in a freak accident, but that is all she knows. She does not know why her father left and went rogue. Her mother is dead and her father Jack is missing, presumed to be rogue or dead as well. Lime green is her favorite color, and she loves bubble gum.
Jack Harulf - Male(he/him) - 36 - rogue As a wolf Jack Harulf is the size of an Eurasian wolf with deep silver gray fur. He has broad shoulders and a powerful build. Scars crisscross his muzzle and back. His eyes are a dark brown, almost black. Jack has not been seen as a human in years, but back in the day he had spiky brown hair, an athletic build and an easy smile that always reached his warm brown eyes. Jack had been raised in the pack and on the path to become a beta or perhaps even an alpha before he left to marry a human and focus on his family. Jack had been well liked by the pack and known for being a jokester. However, he had always been known for having a short fuse and having trouble controlling his temper and his shifting. It’s unclear what exactly happened, but one night Jack and his beloved wife had an argument. Words were exchanged. Jack shifted, his wife died. They’re young daughter, Alexis who was only eight at the time, had been left practically on the doorstep of the pack and as for Jack? Well he not been seen or heard of since. It is assumed he has gone rogue with the combination of grief and guilt. Alexis Harulf is his daughter and only child.

Marco held the healer's gaze. He stiffened at the suggestion that he was recklessly putting everyone in danger. His nose crinkled and his mouth formed a disgusted sneer as he listened to her. The male had to hold back a growl and his change. His eyes shifted to the alpha, whom was watching Marco's every breath with a dangerous look. Inara would stand her actions being questioned, others were a different matter. Marco may be brash, but he wasn't completely idiotic. He let loose a huff and leaned back into his chair.
They were the true ones in dangering the pack. Really, was a few watchmen and extra healer lessons really going to help them? Yes, he would have been all for the idea, if the rogues scent was covering every inch of this house. He doubted the rogues would wait for everyone to learn and for everything to be set up. They weren't afraid anymore. The house was vulnerable to attack and the pack needed to strike now. Marco was under no allusion. They wouldn't be wiping out the rogues. However, they could strike fear and that would be enough to get usurpers to back off.
Marco knew he was outnumbered. His, now completely brown, eyes glanced over the room. A few agreed with him, but not enough. Not enough of the bigger players. Marco let himself settle and raised his hands up in a sign of surrender. He shifted his gaze over to Inara. "Let it be on your head, alpha."
Inara had a sharp intake of breath at Marco's words. His barbed words felt like a slap. Doubt crawled it's way up, but she shoved it down. She could tell the young man wasn't done. His tone was nothing short of mocking and a calm anger was evident in his eyes. She swore to herself that she would talk to him after. Right now, she had to finish this meeting.
Now, she looked around. She had noticed the newcomer. Now would be time to speak. Any small matters were to be figured out now. "Are there any other matters that needs the pack's attention?" She questioned.

Amanda shifted into human form before she spoke. "I do not know if this is the right time to ask you alpha, but I don't suppose you would mind giving a little bit of your land as my home do you." She asked before she moved her gaze to the male who spoke up first. "I can understand that a few of your pack members may be suspicious of me working for the rogues, but I will come clean I was born into a pack in the mountains. Lets just say that because of my wolf's fur color I wasn't exactly well liked in the pack. Everyone including my own family treated me like a flea i did everything for the pack members. Recently I was accused of something I did not do by a relative of mine." She explained without letting a single hint of emotion out.

Inara watched as the women changed and spoke up. She hid a wince at the alpha title. She hoped Marco didn't make Amanda think people had to use the title. She knew he just used it because he was trying to throw her off. It was a game they always played. Inara steered her attention toward the loner
She nodded along to the story. Sadly, it wasn't very unique. Many packs were still happy to lie, barter, and hurt their members to grab at a thread of power. However, these packs usually crumble from the inside. Amanda's pack seemed active still. It didn't seem like any danger could come of it. Inara doubted the other pack would come for who they thought as an outcast. It would be safe to move her to the courner of the territory.
"You don't need to call me alpha. We aren't usually big on titles. Inara is fine." She gave a pause to watch Amanda. A slight hesitation followed her words; the earlier disagreement had thrown her off. Still, she couldn't detect any lies or decent from the loner. Inara's words were obviously carefully formed. "You don't need to tell more. You can have the land. There is a green patch to the Southeast. It is near a river. There isn't a den or house though." Inara looked the women up and down. "If that is fine, someone can show you the way. Don't hesitate to ask for help."
